(Clearwisdom.net) Sixty-four-year-old Mr. Dong Chuanyan from Qingzhou City, Shandong Province was illegally arrested and sentenced to nine years in prison eight years ago because he practices Falun Gong. He has been subjected to “strict control” and severe physical abuse and mistreatment in Shandong Prison. He was sent to the hospital for medical treatment several times. After being sent back from the hospital to the prison in November 2011, Mr. Dong's whereabouts have been unknown.

Mr. Dong Chuanyan was arrested on March 13, 2004 and sentenced to nine years of imprisonment in July 2004. While he was held in Shandong Prison, he was often beaten by criminal inmates. He was held in a “strict control” team for years because he refused to write the “five statements,” which are similar to the three statements. In late March 2005, Mr. Dong was placed in a solitary confinement cell.

Mr. Dong's legs were once fractured in a car accident. When he was placed under long term strict control persecution, he was made to sit on a small stool while a criminal inmate who weighed over 200 pounds ruthlessly stomped on Mr. Dong's feet, causing one of his feet to eventually become severely atrophied. He was also tortured by having two burning cigarettes inserted into his nostrils. He was burned with cigarette butts and subjected to other tortures. Because of injuries sustained under torture, he was sent to a hospital for medical treatment several times.

On October 25, 2011, Mr. Dong was sent back to the prison after receiving hospital treatment. His family had come to visit him, but the guards forbade them from meeting with him. In addition, the guards placed him under strict control, limiting his restroom use, drinking water and all other normal activities. They also verbally and physically abused him. Instigated by the prison guards, murderer Su Jiye forced Mr. Dong to sit on a small stool for an entire day, beating him if he moved even a bit. Sometimes Mr. Dong was made to sit for several months, and his buttocks developed open sores as a result.

One morning in November 2011, cell head Qu Hengxue and inmate Li Tianmin called Mr. Dong to go to a small room, where they beat him so badly that they fractured Mr. Dong's right rib. However, they still placed Mr. Dong under strict control. Mr. Dong was in so much pain that he requested to see a doctor, but the guards refused to let him. Only after Mr. Dong held a hunger strike to protest the persecution, did the guards allow him to go to a hospital.

After returning from the hospital, Mr. Dong was still strictly monitored. The inmates didn't allow him to go to sleep at night until his pain was unbearable. The following day, Mr. Dong went missing, and since then his whereabouts have been unknown.

since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. Mr. Dong Chuanyan has been arrested, detained, extorted for money and tortured many times by CCP agents in Tanfang Town. When Leng Chuanbo was the town mayor, he instigated town police station chief Guo and another man to torture Mr. Dong. They squeezed his nose and poured liquor down his throat, inserted sticks into his nostrils, handcuffed him, took off his clothes and dragged him across the cold floor, and shackled him to a big tree in the courtyard of the town government on a cold, snowy day.

On the morning of October 1, 2000, Mr. Dong was arrested and held at the Qingzhou City Detention Center for a month.

In the winter of 2002, Mr. Dong was arrested while he was repairing a bicycle and taken to the Qingzhou City 610 Office brainwashing center.

Mr. Dong had to live away from home in 2003 because CCP agents attempted to arrest him at home so many times.

On March 13, 2004, Mr. Dong and his wife Ms. Li Xiuying were arrested as they returned home to attend their grandniece's wedding. Participating were officers from the Criminal Police Division of the Qingzhou City Police Department and the town police station. Mr. Dong was later sentenced to nine years in prison.
