Additional Persecution News from China – February 4, 2012 (4 Reports)

(Clearwisdom.net) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in four cities or counties in three provinces. In this report, one practitioner was subjected to mistreatment during his detention, and at least five practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Police Officers Attempted to Persecute Mr. Liu Hao

Mr. Liu Hao, about 26, is an employee of the Qinhuangdao Metallurgical Factory. On December 28, 2011, while on his way home from the night shift, he was arrested by Li Lizhong and several officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Development Area Police Sub-Bureau, who had been waiting outside. Mr. Liu was taken to the Qinhuangdao Detention Center. After 15 days of detention, the police took him to a forced labor camp to serve an 18-month term. The camp authorities refused to admit him because a physical exam found that he suffered from depression.

On the evening of February 1, 2012, officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Development Area Police Sub-Bureau came to Mr. Liu Hao's home, saying that they were going to take him to Tianjin to do a judicial appraisal. It seemed that they were lying and attempted to persecute Mr. Liu.

2. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Li Chaoqun Arrested

Ms. Li Chaoqun was arrested by three officers in uniform on February 2, 2012. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

3. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhang Yi and Mr. Hu Zhongtian Arrested on February 1 and 2, 2012

4. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Taimei and Another Practitioner Detained

On January 31, 2012, Ms. Li Taimei and another practitioner were arrested by the community security guard in the Goushang Community of Lanshan District. The two practitioners were first taken to the Daling Police Station, and then taken to the Linyi Detention Center by officers from the Lanshan District Domestic Security Division.
