(Clearwisdom.net) On May 20, 2011, officers from the Dongxiao Police Station in Luohu District, Shenzhen, arrested Ms. Dai Meilan from Changpai Village. She was detained at the Luohu Detention Center and later illegally sentenced to three years in prison.
During the past seven months, the CCP [Chinese Communist Party] authorities have not allowed Ms. Dai's family to visit her. Her family has reported the situation to the Public Security departments and requested her release. Ms. Dai herself has also submitted an appeal. However, the relevant departments have shifted responsibility to one another and taken no action.
Ms. Dai was severely injured in the head when she was young, which left her with chronic health issues. The wound often became inflamed and itchy, which would make her feel dizzy and nauseous. On occasion, pus from the wound had to be syringed out by a doctor. Once Ms. Dai started practicing Falun Gong, her health was restored and her life greatly improved. Her family also benefited as a result. Due to the persecution, however, her family has been torn apart.
