(Clearwisdom.net) A Chinese New Year celebration, sponsored by the Brisbane City Government, was held on January 28, 2012 at Sunnybank Plaza in Brisbane, Australia. Many local citizens came to the event.

Local Falun Gong practitioners also participated in the celebration. They passed out beautiful hand-made paper lotus flowers and other truth-clarifying materials. Many people talked to the practitioners and a number of them expressed interest in learning the Falun Gong exercises. When they learned about the brutality of the persecution in China, people expressed their support for Falun Gong and an end to the persecution.
Many local politicians also came to the event. They wanted to know more about the persecution in China and they expressed support for Falun Gong.
