Ten Practitioners from Jiamusi City Arrested and Sent to Labor Camps

(Minghui.org) Officers from the Jiamusi City Police Department transferred 10 Falun Gong practitioners who were illegally detained in the Jiamusi Detention Center to labor camps at 4:00 a.m. on October 10, 2012. The practitioners were: Ms. Liu Lijie, Ms. Ren Shuxian, Ms. Zhang Shuhua, Ms. Zhao Juan, Ms. Zhang Shuying, Ms. Wang Yingxia, Ms. Cui Xiuyun, Ms. Xiang Xiaobo, and Mr. Zhang Limin and his wife, Ms. Qu Yujie. The police dragged them into vehicles and took the nine female practitioners to the Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Labor Camp and Mr. Zhang to the Suihua Forced Labor Camp. Because they did not pass the physical, Ms. Zhang Shuhua, Mr. Zhang, and Ms. Qu were released the following day.

On September 10, 2012, officials from the Jiamusi City Police Department broke into three practitioners’ houses in cooperation with the Jiamusi City Domestic Security Division, the Xiangyang Police Department, the Jianshe Police Station, the Qiaonan Police Station, the Xilin Police Station and the Changan Police Station. They ransacked the practitioners’ homes, took many of their personal belongings, and took the practitioners into custody.

Nine practitioners were arrested at Ms. Zhang Shuhua’s home located at the South Gate of Xinglinhu Park, Jiamusi City. They were: Ms. Zhang Shuhua, her son, Ms. Zhang Shuying, Ms. Zhao Juan, Ms. Cui Xiuyun, Ms. Sun Ying, Ms. Liu Lijie, Ms. Xiang Xiaobo, and a female practitioner in her 60s. Four practitioners were taken into custody from Ms. Ren Shuxian’s home, which is near the Chinese medicine hospital in Jiamusi City. The four practitioners were Ms. Ren Shuxian, Ms. Wang Yingxia, and Mr. Zhang Limin and his wife, Ms. Qu Yujie. The police also arrested an eight-year-old girl and her mother at Ms. Ren’s home. The little girl had come to learn piano from Ms. Ren.

The plainclothes police ransacked Ms. Zhang Shuying’s temporary rental unit. They first tricked her landlord into opening the door, saying that they were Ms. Zhang’s friends and had come to pick up some belongings for her. The landlord refused to open it. The police then broke in, ransacked her rooms, and took her computer and other personal belongings. They also took the landlord’s identity card. Their violent behavior badly frightened the landlord; he was too terrified to even speak. Afterwards, the police refused to compensate the landlord for his property damage.

The 15 people were first incarcerated in the police station. Ms. Liu Lijie, Ms. Ren Shuxian, Ms. Zhang Shuhua, Ms. Zhao Juan, Ms. Zhang Shuying, Ms. Wang Yingxia, Ms. Cui Xiuyun, Ms. Xiang Xiaobo, Mr. Zhang Limin, and Ms. Qu Yujie were transferred to the Jiamusi Detention Center on September 11. After the practitioners were arrested, their families visited different agencies demanding their release. However, the officials just passed the buck. They didn’t issue any written or verbal notice of arrest to the practitioners or their families, and refused to allow their family members to visit. On October 10, one family member called the detention center, asking to send some clothes. The guards told the family that the practitioners “had been transferred elsewhere.”

Those responsible for these arrests include the Jiamusi City Police Department, the Jiamusi City Domestic Security Division, the Xiangyang Police Department, the Qiaonan Police Station, the Jianshe Police Station and the Xilin Police Station. Some of the officers include Xu Jiaqing, deputy head of the Xiangyang Police Department; Zhang Hongyu, officer; Chen Wanyou; Liu Qingyu, head of the Qiaonan Police Station; head of the Jianshe Police Station, and officers from the Qiaonan Police Station.
