(Clearwisdom.net) Editors' Note: In both Western and Chinese culture, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The universe will reward actions that are in harmony with this principle, while actions such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely "following orders," the universal law requires that they too be held responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.
On the morning of December 23, 2011, a police van owned by Ning County Court of Qingyang City, Gansu Province, carrying 12 passengers, collided with an oncoming semi-truck on the highway from Qingdao to Lanzhou. The van was smashed by the front of the truck which caused the gas tank to catch fire. The fire then completely engulfed the two vehicles. When the firefighters arrived, they found six bodies at the scene. Even though the other six people survived, they all suffered from burns and were taken to the emergency room. The deceased were later identified as the former deputy head of the county 610 Office and current county criminal court head judge Meng Zhaoqing, the Regulation Bureau head Duan Xiaoming, the civil court head judge Hu Fuqin and his two brothers-in-law, and a court employee, Qin Aining.

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) controlled media only published a few words about the accident, claiming that the cause was still under investigation. It was confirmed that ten of the twelve people in the car accident were on their way to investigate and assess the performance of the Jiao Village Court over the past year. To please the upper-level authorities, the county court invited the group to go to Yaochi Hot Springs in Jingchuan County where there are entertainment facilities, including prostitution services that are well known in the province. Somehow, the driver drove into the wrong lane, and headed right into an oncoming truck.
The incident looked as if it was a random accident, but everything has its cause. These individuals suffered retribution for their own vicious deeds. When Meng Zhaoqing was the head of the 610 Office, he helped the police arrest and illegally sentence Falun Gong practitioners.
Ning County directed different levels of the 610 Office to arrest and incarcerate more than thirty Falun Gong practitioners. During this time, an elderly female practitioner was arrested nine times and sentenced to forced labor three times. Another practitioner, Ms. Zhang Yuling, was tortured to death in 2002. Since August 2011, the deputy head of the Gansu Provincial Political and Law Bureau and the city CCP head, Zhang Xiaolan have intensified the persecution of local practitioners. As a result, over a dozen practitioners from the city have been arrested; a few practitioners were sentenced, and one practitioner has been tried in court twice. The police officers even used electric drills and sledgehammers to break into practitioners’ residences. The State Security Team also put practitioners on a tiger bench to brutally torture them for over twelve hours. After some of these practitioners fainted, the personnel involved in the torture forcefully pressed practitioners’ fingerprints onto illegal documents.
There have been other past cases of karmic retribution in Qingyang County. The former Qingyang County 610 Office head, Men Yijing, and agent Bai Weiquan were on their way to “transform” Falun Gong practitioners on January 8, 2003, but were killed in a car accident. The former Political and Law Bureau head of Qingyang City and head of 610 Office, Liu Wuqing, directed 610 Office agents from different counties and districts to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. He died in August 2006, after suffering from cancer.
