Additional Persecution News from China – September 19, 2011 (24 Reports)

(Clearwisdom.net) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 24 cities or counties in 15 provinces. As per this report, 15 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 25 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Shanghai] Ms. Chen Jie on Hunger Strike--Ms. Zhou Ling Persecuted by Her Employer

Ms. Chen Jie and Ms. Zhou Ling from the Pudong New District, Shanghai, were arrested at their respective homes on July 29, 2011. They were first taken to the Puxing Street Police Station and then transferred to the Zhangjiang Detention Center the following day. Ms. Zhou was released on August 12, 2011, but was dismissed from her workplace because she practices Falun Gong. Ms. Chen was sentenced to one year and nine months of imprisonment and is currently in the Zhangjiang Detention Center.

2. [Yuxi City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Hua Lanxian and Ms. Li Lingzhen Arrested and Taken to a Brainwashing Center

Ms. Hua Lanxian and Ms. Li Lingzhen from the Hongta District were arrested and sent to a ten-day brainwashing session in Biye Resort, set up by agents from the Hongta District 610 Office in Yuxi City, on August 24, 2011.

3. [Hengyang City, Hunan Province] Mr. Liu Dingheng Arrested by Zhuhui District Police

Officials from the Zhuhui District Police Department and the Dongyangdu Town Police Station arrested Mr. Liu Dingheng from the 710 Factory on the morning of September 6, 2011. The police ransacked his home and took his personal belongings valued up to 10, 000 yuan. Ms. He Xiqiu, who was at his home at that time, was also taken into custody but was later released.

4. [Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Additional Information Regarding the Persecution of Mr. Wu Zhenghai and Ms. Zhang Yin

Mr. Wu Zhenghai and Ms. Zhang Yin were arrested in front of Ms. Zhang’s door on the afternoon of September 13, 2011, by police from Wuxi City and Changzhou City. The police also broke in and ransacked Mr. Wu’s home, and took 8,000 yuan, which he had borrowed for his business.

5. [Shahe City, Hebei Province] Mr. Qin Laosi Arrested

Mr. Qin Laosi from Xiajie Village, Shiliting Town, Shahe City, was arrested and taken to the Xingtai Brainwashing Center by the Domestic Security Division agents on September 14 or September 15, 2011.

6. [Jianping County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Shi Yuling Arrested

Ms. Shi Yuling was arrested at home by officers from the Jianping County Domestic Security Division and the Heishui Township Police Station on September 15, 2011.

7. [Dongguan City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Yi Zhuandi Held in Dongguan City No. 2 Detention Center

Mr. Yi Zhuandi is being held in the Dongguan City No. 2 Detention Center. Officials have not allowed her family to visit her.

8. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zheng Hongying and Ms. Wang Guilan Sent to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Zheng Hongying and Ms. Wang Guilan were arrested on September 6, 2011. They are currently imprisoned in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.

9. [Chongqing] Ms. Liu Jianping Harassed and Forced to Leave Home

Ms. Liu Jianping was twice harassed by police officer Chen Youliang from the Nanquan Town Police Station in the Banan District and officer Zhou Jie from Hongqi Village. She was forced to to leave her hometown to avoid the further harassment by authorities.

10. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Huanying Arrested

Ms. Liu Huanying from Jixididao was arrested at her home by Zhongnuan Police Station agents on September 13, 2011. Her home was ransacked; the police confiscated her computer, printer and materials clarifying the facts about Falun Gong.

11. [Hebei Province] 610 Office Agents Arrest Practitioners from Laishui County

Laishui County 610 Office agents arrested the following practitioners on September 13, 2011: Ms. Han Fengqin and Mr. Zhai Haisheng from Shiting, Ms. Qiu Yuelan from Chenjia Village, and Ms. Su Zhenghua from Gao Village.

12. [Nongan County, Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Zongren and Ms. Fu Guoli Arrested and Taken to Brainwashing Center

Officials from the Huajia Township Police Station arrested Mr. Wang Zongren and Ms. Fu Guoli and took them to the Zhongying Hotel Brainwashing Center in Nongan County on the evening of September 13, 2011.

13. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Xingguo and Ms. Yu Suzhi Arrested

Mr. Wang Xingguo and his wife Ms. Yu Suzhi from Xidongpo Village, Hetan Town, Hanting District, were arrested at home by the Hanting Domestic Security Division agents on September 15, 2011. Their home was ransacked.

14. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Dong Zhifang Sent to Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Dong Zhifang from Ongniud Qi was arrested and taken to the Ningcheng Detention Center by officials from the local Domestic Security Division and local police stations on July 19, 2011. She was then sentenced to one and a half years in the Hohhot City Women’s Forced Labor Camp.

15. [Shuangpai County, Hunan Province] Ms. Chen Guilin Arrested

Ms. Chen Guilin was taken into custody and detained after she distributed materials to clarify the facts about Falun Gong in mid-September 2011.

16. [Fuyang City, Zhejiang Province] Mr. Zhang Yunxing Arrested, Ms. Hua Guoxiang Forced to Leave Home

Mr. Zhang Yunxing is 76 years old. Agents from the Fuyang City 610 Office, local police stations, and neighborhood committees broke in his home and took him to the Dongmingshan Brainwashing Center in Hangzhou City.

The police also attempted to arrest Ms. Hua Guoxiang, but she refused to open her door. The police monitored her home, threatened and harassed her for several days. Ms. Hua locked herself and her few-months-old granddaughter in her home. Later, she was forced to leave her hometown to avoid further persecution.

17. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xu Yafen Arrested

Ms. Xu Yafen was arrested on the evening of September 13, 2011, by Helong Police Station head Zhu Guang and two police officers. The police confiscated two packages of materials clarifying the facts about Falun Gong.

18. [Jiujiang County, Jiangxi Province] Mr. He Shengxiang and Ms. Zhu Haixia Sentenced to One Year of Forced Labor

Mr. He Shengxiang and Ms. Zhu Haixia from Gangkou Town were arrested by the Ruichang City Police Department agents in early June 2011. The police attempted to sentence the two practitioners, but the Ruichang City Procuratorate rejected the case. Nevertheless, Mr. He and Ms. Zhu were sent to the Majialong Forced Labor Camp on September 9, 2011, to be detained for one year.

19. [Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Zhao Guirong and Ms. Gou Zhengxia Detained

Ms. Zhao Guirong and Ms. Gou Zhengxia were arrested and taken to the Weicheng District Detention Center on July 4, 2011. They have been detained for over 70 days. The two practitioners went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution and are now in poor health.

20. [Yichang City, Hubei Province] Mr. Wang Xiaojian Sentenced to Four Years of Forced Labor

Mr. Wang Xiaojian from Yunyang City, Sichuan Province, was arrested by the agents from the Xiling District Police Department on the afternoon of November 12, 2010. The police ransacked his home and took his computer, printer and Falun Gong books. Mr. Wang was then held in the Yichang City No. 1 Detention Center.

Xiling District Court sentenced Mr. Wang in June 2011, and he was sent to the Fanjiatai Forced Labor Camp in Shayang City in early September 2011.

21. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Fan Shufen Arrested

Ms. Fan Shufen was arrested by the officers from the Donghuan Police Station.

22. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Arrested and Taken to Brainwashing Center

Shulan City 610 Office set up a brainwashing center in the Food Bureau hostel on March 18, 2011, and arrested a dozen practitioners. The agents opened the brainwashing center again on September 14, 2011. Ms. Xu Guilan, Mr. Li Deming, Ms. Pan Jingxian and Mr. Feng Chen have been arrested and taken to the brainwashing center.

23. [Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Liu Weidong Held in tBeilin District Detention Center

Agents from the Beilin Domestic Security Division and the Heping Road Police Station arrested Mr. Liu Weidong, 45, after he was tricked into going to his former employer on August 26, 2011. The police ransacked his home and took his personal belongings, including two computers, a CD burner, several printers, discs, and Falun Gong books. Mr. Liu was then taken to the Beilin District Detention Center.

In 2003, he was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor and sent to a forced labor camp. His wife was compelled to divorce him due to the persistent harassment and pressure from the communist regime’s authorites.

24. [Tianjin] Ms. Gao Guifen Arrested

Ms. Gao Guifen from Nanshang Village, Nancaicun Town, the Wuqing District, was arrested when she was distributing materials to clarify the facts about Falun Gong to the Nancaicun Government on the morning of August 12, 2011. Four police officers later ransacked her home.
