Additional Persecution News from China as of July 25, 2011 - Part 2 (23 Reports)

(Clearwisdom.net) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 12 provinces. As per this report, 19 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 16 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Zheng Weigang, Mr. Zhou Yusong and Mr. Liu Shunguo Arrested

Agents from the Mengyang Town 610 Office in Pengzhou City and other officials, including Xu Kaiyou, party secretary of the Third Village in Mengyang, illegally arrested Mr. Zheng Weigang, Mr. Zhou Yusong, and Mr. Liu Shunguo at their homes on the afternoon of July 18, 2011. The practitioners were sent to the Sanshengsi Brainwashing Center in Pengzhou City.

2. [Gucheng County, Hebei Province] Mr. Wu Yupu and Mr. Dong Yanwen Sent to Zhengkou Detention Center

Mr. Wu Yupu and Mr. Dong Yanwen were sent to the Zhengkou Detention Center on the afternoon of July 22, 2011.

3. [Yiyuan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Gong Fangzhi Arrested

Yiyuan County police went to Ms. Gong Fangzhi's home on July 22, 2011. They arrested her and ransacked her home. Ms. Gong is currently detained at Yiyuan Criminal Police Division.

4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Mingxia Arrested

Ms. Li Mingxia was arrested on June 30, 2011. Afterward, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents also ransacked her home and confiscated one printer (for her child's school use), nearly 30,000 yuan in cash, one bank deposit certificate, one pay check, and her ID card.

5. [Chongqing] Mr. Zhang Yougao and Ms. Li Jiabi Arrested

Mr. Zhang Yougao and Ms. Li Jiabi were arrested on July 21, 2011.

6. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yu Ying and Ms. Zhang Yujing Sent to Shenyang First Detention Center (Update)

Ms. Yu Ying and Ms. Zhang Yujing from Ciyutuo Town in Liaozhong County were arrested by police when they distributed truth-clarification materials on the evening of July 19, 2011. They are now held at the Shenyang First Detention Center. Ms. Yu has been on a hunger strike to protest the persecution.

7. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhou Fengyun, Ms. Gao Zhiqin and Ms. Dong Shulan Harassed by Baiquan County Police

Agents from the Baiquan County Third Police Station went to practitioner Ms. Zhou Fengyun's home in late June to harass her. Later, three agents from the Baiquan County First Police Station went to the homes of Ms. Gao Zhiqin and Ms. Dong Shulan pressuring the practitioners to sign guarantee statements to renounce Falun Gong. The practitioners refused to do so.

8. [Juye County, Shandong Province] Ms. Ma Xiuqin Sent to Heze Detention Center

Ms. Ma Xiuqin and another practitioner were arrested by the Juye County police while they clarified the facts about Falun Gong on July 23, 2010. They were taken to the Beicheng Police Station. Juye Domestic Security Division officer Pang Xin, Beicheng Police Station head Tian Delong, and other agents ransacked Ms. Ma's home at noon that day. They confiscated Falun Gong books, truth-clarification materials, and an MP3 player. Ms. Ma was sent to the Heze Detention Center on July 24, 2011.

In 2001, Ms. Ma was sent to a forced labor camp in Jinan, Shandong Province, for a three-year term.

9. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Zaixi Harassed by 610 Office Agents

Mr. Li Zaixi from Jiashi Village in Hongshan Town of Zichuan District was detained in the Jinan Prison for eight years and released in the autumn of 2010. Zibo 610 Office agents went to his workplace to harass him on July 21, 2011.

10. [Chongqing] Ms. Wang Ling Arrested

Ms. Wang Ling, an elderly practitioner from the Yuzhong District in Chongqing, was arrested at home and is currently detained at the Chongqing Steel Design Institute Hostel. According to reports, several Falun Gong practitioners are illegally detained there.

11. [Shangyu City, Zhejiang Province] Mr. Zhang Youdao Sent to Xinchang Brainwashing Center

Shangyu City 610 Office officials arrested Mr. Zhang Youdao on July 20, 2011, and sent him to the Xinchang Brainwashing Center.

12. [Chongqing] Mr. Zhang Ge Sent to Chongqing Brainwashing Center

Mr. Zhang Ge was arrested at home on July 11, 2011, and sent to the Chongqing Brainwashing Center.

13. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Mr. Zhu Guoming and His Wife Persecuted

Agents from the Wuhua Police Station in Ningcheng County, Chifeng City, went to Mr. Zhu Guoming's home on the afternoon of June 29, 2011. They arrested Mr. Zhu's wife, searched the apartment, and took away a calendar and the Falun Gong founder's image from the wall. Mr. Zhu then went to his daughter's home to avoid being arrested. Ningcheng Police Department officials went to his place to look for him on the morning of July 1, 2011. His whereabouts are currently unknown.

14. [Chongqing] Mr. Long Chunfa Harassed

Officials from the Quanwaiyuan Community in the Beibei District, Chongqing, have monitored Mr. Long Chunfa for more than 10 years. Agents from the Shenglijie Police Station in the Beibei District and local 610 Office agents harassed him on the morning of June 11, 2011.

15. [Nanyang City, Henan Province] Mr. Zhao Sibin Arrested; Current Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Zhao Sibin was arrested on July 21, 2011. His current whereabouts are unknown.

16. [Gongyi City, Henan Province] Mr. Wang Wenchang, Ms. Yang Xiuying, and Ms. Zhang Xinzhi Arrested

Mr. Wang Wenchang, Ms. Yang Xiuying, and Ms. Zhang Xinzhi were arrested by the Beishankou Police Station agents when they distributed materials clarifying the facts about Falun Gong on the evening on July 21, 2011. Mr. Zhang was released, but the other two practitioners are still detained by Gongyi City Domestic Security Division agents.

17. [Huizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Li Guiying Sentenced to Prison; Ms. Liu Youlian's Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Li Guiying and Ms. Liu Youlian were arrested on March 16, 2011, and have been held at the Gutangao Detention Center in Huizhou City since then. Their families tried to visit them but were not allowed to see them. When Ms. Li's family went to the police department on July 21, 2011, they were told that she had been sentenced to two years and two months of imprisonment.

Ms. Liu's whereabouts are unknown.

18. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yuan Xuelan Arrested

Ms. Yuan Xuelan from the Qingdao City Development District was arrested while distributing materials clarifying the facts about Falun Gong on the evening of July 22, 2011. She is being held at the Qingdao Detention Center.

19. [Jianyang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Wang Yongcheng's Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Wang Yongcheng has not been back home for several days. His home appears to have been ransacked, and his Falun Gong books, the Falun Gong founder's image and truth-clarification materials are missing.

20. [Gangu County, Gansu Province] Ms. Zhang Caiqin Sentenced to Prison; Ms. Zhang Xiaoming's Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Zhang Caiqin and Ms. Zhang Xiaoming were arrested and sent to the Gangu County Detention Center on February 15, 2011. According to recent reports, Ms. Zhang Caiqin was sentenced to six years in prison by Gangu Court officials and is expected to be sent to the Lanzhou Women's Prison in a few days. Ms. Zhang Xiaoming's whereabouts are unknown.

21. [Pingquan County, Hebei Province] Ms. Yuan Shuyu Arrested

Ms. Yuan Shuyu, in her 40s, is from Dayingzi Village, Daohugou Town, Pingquan County. Daohugou Town Police Station head Sun Yanchun and more than 10 other agents went to her home on the morning of July 23, 2011, arrested her, and took her to the Xiabancheng Brainwashing Center in Chengde County.

Ms. Yuan and her father, Mr. Yuan Xiaoqin, also a Falun Gong practitioner, tried to clarify the facts about Falun Gong to the agents. However, the agents carried Mr. Yuan away, pushed Ms. Yuan's 16-year-old son aside by grabbing his hair, forcibly placed Ms. Yuan into the police van and drove away.

Ms. Yuan was locked up at the county detention center for about six months in 2001, followed by 13 days of detention at the Chengde City Brainwashing Center.

22. [Chongqing] Mr. Huang Guangming Sent to Forced Labor Camp

Mr. Huang Guangming was arrested on June 4, 2011. According to recent reports, he was sent to the Xishanping Labor Camp on July 8, 2011, with a term of one year.

After his arrest, Mr. Huang was held at the Dadukou Detention Center and tortured. Because of his diabetes symptoms, labor camp officials refused to accept him. However, the Dadukou Police Department officials forced them to admit him. When Mr. Huang's family went to visit him, they found that he had head wounds.

23. [Wuwei City, Gansu Province] Mr. Zhang Wenpei Passes Away

Liangzhou District Court officials sentenced Mr. Zhang Wenpei, 79-year-old resident of Minqin County in Wuwei City, to six years of imprisonment. However, because of his advanced age, he was allowed to stay at home most of the time.

Wuwei City 610 Office agents, headed by Chen Fenggang, often came to harass him. After years of stress and mistreatment under the persecution, Mr. Zhang died at noon on July 21, 2011.
