(Clearwisdom.net) Prior to the persecution, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yang Guang was once the general manager of a joint venture company in Yantai, Shandong province. Police arrested him in November 2000 and he was tortured to extort evidence. Mr. Yang was sentenced to 15 years' incarceration in March 2002. He was held in the Second Jilin Province Prison until his death as a result of persecution in 2008.
Tremendous changes to his mind and body after practicing Falun Dafa
In July 2000, Mr. Yang Guang once related at an experience sharing conference how he completely got rid of all his chronic, incurable ailments within a year of practicing Falun Dafa. He also got rid of bad habits he used to indulge in at political and business encounters, and finally found the meaning of life. Witnessing the tremendous changes in him, his wife and Mother also started to practice Falun Gong.
Subjected to unimaginable, cruel mistreatment and tortures
Mr. Yang Guang went to Baishan city for an experience sharing conference in November 2000. Changchun police and local police arrested him. He was then brought back to Changchun city and held at the Tiexi Detention Center.
Criminal Police Team head Liang Chunli, officer Li Xingtao and others interrogated him several times a night and tried to extort a confession under torture. They made him sit on a metal chair, handcuffed him, doused him with water, then shocked his whole body with high voltage electric batons. Other tortures included: beating with a metal rod, backward handcuffing and hanging up, beating while swinging him suspended, interrogating him continuously for over thirty hours and depriving him of sleep, using a plastic bag to cover his head, forcibly feeding him alcohol, putting him on the Tiger Bench, among others. Continuous torture made Mr. Yang lose his hearing, and disabled both his legs, so that he could no longer walk.

Demonstrating inspiring righteousness in court
On March 6, 2002, Changchun Nanguan District opened a hearing and processed the case of Mr. Yang and 13 other Falun Gong practitioners who had clarified the truth. Two days before the hearing, the judicial department of the city and the province held a meeting with attorneys: No permission would be granted to defend Falun Gong practitioners. Any attorney who would defend a Falun Gong practitioner would be disbarred. When the court opened, 13 Falun Gong practitioners defended themselves and shouted, “Falun Dafa is good;” “Falun Dafa is the righteous Fa;” “Proclaim our Master's innocence." The police beat the practitioners in court. Several practitioners were injured.
Humiliated in Jilin Prison for many years
Mr. Yang Guang was sentenced to 15 years in prison, and put into the Second Jilin Province Prison on May 28, 2002. The prison's wicked guards, criminals and officials subjected him to many tortures. He was mentally devastated, and his legs were disabled.
Mr. Yang was detained in the prison's “naked area” where the inmates were not allowed to wear underwear all year long. Because he was paralyzed, the criminals made a simple, customized wheelchair for him, from pieces of wood and metal rods, so he could relieve himself. The seat had a hole cut in it, beneath which was a bowl to catch waste. The criminals would push him into the restroom. Because of the strange construction of this wheelchair, Mr. Yang could not clean himself.

Criminals who had mental issues and those who were beaten to disability and had lost the ability to take care of themselves were also detained in the naked area. This area was cold in winter and hot in summer. It didn't have sunshine all year around. The sleeping area was less than 60 cm wide. When it came time for taking a bath, criminals just wheeled him into the bathroom and turned the hose on him, spraying his body. They used a mop with nails on it to dry him. The food was horrible and contained no oil. This was the same for all seasons.
Mr. Yang's physical condition worsened in December 2004. Jilin Prison officials transferred him to Changchun Tiebei Prison. In the ward behind Tiebei Prison hospital, he became emaciated. He lost the ability to move in his torso and was virtually completely paralyzed. Still, hospital persecutors forced his family to pay more than 1,100 yuan “bed fee” per month.
Mr. Yang Guang was transferred back to Jilin Prison in June 2005 and stayed until he died as a result of persecution in 2008.
During several years in Jilin Prison, he was tortured, but not “reformed”. Agents from the Jilin Province 610 Office forced his wife to divorce him, to try to destroy him mentally.
Mr. Yang was paralyzed all over in June 2006. He had pleurisy and suffered from organ failure, and his life was in danger.
Mr. Yang had pulmonary tuberculosis, tubercular pleurisy, and fluid in his chest. He was admitted to the Jilin Prison Hospital in June 2008. Both legs were disabled, he was deaf in his right ear. His hands had completely lost function, and he was dangerously close to losing his life.
Around August 8, 2008, Mr. Yang's life was in danger again. His slim body suddenly became swollen. He could no longer eat. Jinlin Prison officials transferred him to the Jilin Railway Hospital.
Mr. Yang died on August 25, 2008, with grievance and injustice. He was only 56 years old. The evil Chinese Communist party forcibly cremated his remains to cover up evidence of their crimes.
