Additional Persecution News from China – August 12, 2011 (25 Reports)

(Clearwisdom.net) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 20 cities or counties in ten provinces. In this report, 16 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 32 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Shaoyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Shi Kaiyuan Arrested

Agents from the local 610 Office, the Daxiang District Police Department, the Beita District Police Department, and the State Security Bureau came in ten police vehicles and surrounded the Family Residence Building of Jiangbei General Umbrella Manufacturing Company in Shaoyang on the morning of July 27, 2011. They arrested eldery Ms. Shi Kaiyun, ransacked her home, and took her computer, a cell phone, an MP3, a copy of Zhuan Falun, and her personal phone book, among other items.

Ms. Shi was taken to the brainwashing center in Shaoyang Special District Guesthouse. On the afternoon of July 28, she left the brainwashing center with righteous thoughts and came home.

2. [Kazuo County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhang Guotian Sentenced to Forced Labor

Zhang Shunchang, chief of Kazuo Police Department Domestic Security Division; Li Yong, deputy chief; and many other officers arrested 13 practitioners on the evening of June 30, 2011. Mr. Zhang Guotian was sentenced to forced labor and sent to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang City. Other practitioners were released after have money extorted from them.

4. [Bin County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhao Yungu, Ms. Liu Shumei, and Ms. Chen Liyun Persecuted

Ms. Zhao Yungu, Ms. Liu Shumei, and Ms. Chen Liyun from Bin County have been held since they were arrested on June 23, 2011, by officers from the Harbin City Police Department and the Bin County Police Department. Family visits are not allowed and they also refused to return practitioners' belongings, including almost 400,000 yuan, computers, and gold necklaces.

5. [Chaoyang County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Yu Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

Zhao Qiang and officers from Chaoyang Domestic Security Division arrested Ms. Zhang Yu from Beisijiazi on February 19, 2011. After being held in the Chaoyang Detention Center for over five months, Ms. Zhang was sentenced to three years in prison by the Chaoyang Court with collaboration of the Chaoyang Procuratorate and Chaoyang Domestic Security Division.

6. [Chaoyang County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhang Qi Persecuted in Panjin Prison

Mr. Zhang Qi has been on a hunger strike for over three months in Panjin Prison to protest the persecution. Hey is very frail, but prison authorities have refused to release him. Not only that, they have put heavy handcuffs and shackles on him.

7. [Hongxinglong, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yue Jieyun Arrested

Ms. Yue Jieyun from Hongxinglong is 70 years old. She went out to clarify the truth about Falun Gong on the afternoon of August 10, 2011, and was arrested. She is now being held in the Hongxinglong Agriculture Reclamation Detention Center.

8. [Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Xiufang and Ms. Bai Yong Taken to a Brainwashing Center

Agents from Mishan 610 Office, including director Yu Xiaofeng, barged into the homes of Ms. Wang Xiufang and Ms. Bai Yong in Tiexi Village, Mishan, on the evening of August 10, 2011, and took the two women to a brainwashing center.

Ms. Gao Shuju, in her 60s, and Ms. Pan Shuqin, in her 50s, are from Yangerzhuang, Qinghe County. They were taken to the Xingtai Brainwashing Center on August 9, 2011, by agents from the Qinghe 610 Office and officers from the Domestic Security Division.

10. [Nongan County, Jilin Province] Brainwashing Session Held in Zhongying Hotel to Persecute Local Practitioners

Authorities from Nongan Police Department, the Domestic Security Division, and the 610 Office held a brainwashing session in the Zhongying Hotel in Nongan County to persecute local practitioners. It is known that Mr. Wang Diange from Huajia Township, Ms. Zhao Chunxia from Halahai Town, and others have now been taken to a brainwashing session.

11. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Chen Jingjie and Ms. Zhao Xiuping Held in Daqing First Detention Center

Ms. Chen Jingjie and Ms. Zhao Xiuping from Hongwei Village, Daqing, went to the area of Wuying, Yinlang, on the morning of July 30, 2011. They were arrested there by officers from the Chengfeng Police Department of Daqing while clarifying the truth about Falun Gong. Ms. Chen and Ms. Zhao are now in the Daqing First Detention Center.

12. [Sanhe City, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Chunfeng and Mr. Li Jingrong Arrested

Zhou Yong, political instructor of Huangzhuang Town Police Station in Sanhe City, and over ten others from the town government and the police station took Mr. Li Chunfeng and Mr. Li Jingrong from their homes in Gongzhuangzi Village and Baizhuangxi Village respectively to the Langfang Brainwashing Center on the morning of August 5.

13. [Tancheng County, Shandong Province] Ms. Wu Shaoxia and Her Daughter Arrested

Officers from Honghua Township Police Station in Tancheng arrested Ms. Wu Shaoxia, her daughter (not a practitioner), and her one-year-old grandson on the morning of August 2, 2011. They have not yet been released.

14. [Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region] Practitioners Severely Persecuted in Xinjiang Women's Forced Labor Camp

The persecution of practitioners in the Xinjiang region is still severe. Ms. Shen Jinyu, Ms. Shao Jinrong, Ms. Tang Jing, and Ms. Yu Xiufang were held in Xinjiang Women's Forced Labor Camp. They were pressured to “transform,” forced to do slave labor day and night, and made to stand for extended periods. These tortures caused their legs to become swollen.

15. [Qufu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Xueying and Ms. Kong Xiangling Arrested

Ms. Zhang Xueying and Ms. Kong Xiangling from Qufu were reported for explaining the truth about Falun Gong. They were arrested in their homes by local officers on the morning of August 11, 2011, and taken to the Jinan Women's Forced Labor Camp for a term of 18 months.

16. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Lihua Arrested

Ms. Wang Lihua from the Zhangdian District, Zibo, was reported by a student and arrested by officers from the Xiliulu Police Station and the Domestic Security Division on August 5, 2011, for handing out informational DVDs about Falun Gong near Xiliulu Primary School.

17. [Shantou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Xu Daoming and His Wife, Ms. Wu Peijuan, Arrested

Mr. Xu Daoming, his wife Ms. Wu Peijuan, and their son-in-law from Shantou were arrested and their home ransacked by more than ten officers from the Jinping District Domestic Security Division and the Guangsha Police Station on the morning of August 11, 2011. They are now being held in the Guangsha Police Station in the Jinping District.

18. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Jia Guiqin's Home Ransacked

Ms. Jia Guiqin from Hanzhong was seized by officers to the Hantai District Domestic Security Division on the morning of August 11, 2011, while she was buying rice in Shimapo in the Hantai District. They interrogated her, searched her, and then ransacked her home and took cash and informational materials.

19. [Sichuan Province] Ms. Yang Liang Arrested

Ms. Yang Liang from Sichuan was arrested on the afternoon of August 8, 2011, while she was on her way to Hohhot City from Otog Front Banner. She is now being held in a detention center near Baotou City.

20. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhong Junfang, Ms. Chen Baoquan, and Mr. Yu Faquan Arrested

Officers from Jianwei County Police Department in Leshan arrested practitioners, including Ms. Zhong Junfang, Mr. Chen Baoquan, and Mr. Yu Faquan, on the evening of August 10, 2011.

21. [Dayi County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhao Chunrong from Hewu Town Reported and Arrested around August 6.

22. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Meng Yanchai Arrested

Mr. Meng Yanchai was arrested in the Guangzhou Branch of Yinyan Financial Support Services, Ltd., in Shenzhen on May 10, 2011, under the pretense of investigating one of his colleagues. Mr. Meng is still being held in the Tianhe Detention Center of Guangzhou and family visits are not allowed.

23. [Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Huang Juxiu and Five More Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Huang Juxiu from Yueyang was arrested early August, 2011. Ms. Zhang Xiaomei, Ms. Li Junzhi, Ms. Zhu Xiuying, elderly Ms. Zhan, and Ms. Xu Guilan were arrested on August 10.

24. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Jian Yicong Arrested

Elderly Ms. Jian Yicong from Mianhe Village, Huangxu Town, Deyang, was reported and then arrested on July 31, 2011, for distributing informational DVDs clarifying the truth about Falun Gong. 25. [Chongqing] Four Practitioners from Qijiang County Taken to Brainwashing Center

Li Zijian, a security staff officer from Tonghua Coal Mine, and others arrested Mr. Li Zhengyin, 69, at his home on the morning of August 3. At the same time, Song Daming, retired chief of Songzao Coal Mine Security Section, and others arrested Mr. Wang Zhengfu, 74, at his home. They forced Mr. Wang into a bus and then took him to the County Brainwashing Center.

Mr. Bi Xiangshu, 65, was arrested on his way home on August 7 and taken to Qijiang Brainwashing Center. Ms. Yang Longmei, in her 60s, was tricked into going back to the coal mine the same day and then arrested.
