(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Li Hongzhou, from Futian District, Shenzhen, was taken to the Futian Detention Center by agents of the 610 Office on March 26, 2011. The Futian Police Sub-Bureau formalized the arrest on April 25, 2011. The case was rejected by the Futian Procuratorate twice. According to the staff of the Preliminary Examination Division, they are going to submit the case again by June 25, 2011.
More Information About the Arrest
At around 9:00 a.m. on March 26, 2011, about a dozen agents from the Futian District 610 Office and Fuqiang Road Police Station broke into Mr. Li's home. They took away Mr. Li and his wife, Ms. Tang Qinghua, without showing any ID's or following any legal procedures. They also confiscated many personal belongings, including a laptop from work. They later released Ms. Tang since she was pregnant.
Mr. Li's father suffered from a sudden mental collapse after hearing the news of his son. Mr. Li's parents are both in their 60s and Mr. Li is their only child. Mr. Li has been filial to his parents. He often sent money to them despite the fact that he is not at all well off.
Mr. Li has been detained in the Futian Detention Center for three months. During the detention, he was not able to meet a police officer and the arrest notice to his family was not even signed.
About Mr. Li
Mr. Li had suffered from severe headaches since he was a child. He also suffered from severe stomach problems. All those illnesses persisted despite medical treatment. He tried several other Qigong practices and the results were minimal. However, after practicing Falun Gong for a period of time, he became physically healthy and all his illnesses disappeared.
Mr. Li's upright, honest and kind character is praised by his family and friends. Though thrifty with himself, when others need help, he would help without hesitation. He conducted himself according to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
Mr. Li worked for an Australian company several years ago. When Mr. Li was once detained for his belief in Falun Gong, the company head went to the police department and requested to bail Mr. Li out.
Mr. Li's family suffered great pain upon his arrest. He is the sole financial resource in the family. His pregnant wife is going to give birth soon, and his parents also need to be taken care of.
