(Clearwisdom.net) It has been 12 long years of darkness since Jiang Zemin instigated the persecution of Falun Gong. Looking at the news after breaking through the Internet blockade in China, I saw that Falun Gong practitioners in many countries and places held impressive rallies, parades and candlelight vigils mourning those practitioners that had been persecuted to death.
In Taiwan, practitioners were handing out posters printed with, "Preserve Compassion and Kindness, Stop Persecuting Falun Gong." I was deeply touched. The world's people are closely following and supporting the Falun Gong practitioners who are opposing the persecution.
Every year around July 20, Falun Gong practitioners around the world hold various kinds of activities to oppose the persecution. Government officials and righteous people from all walks of life bravely come forward to support Falun Gong and condemn the atrocities committed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). This year eight senators and congressmen from the United States wrote letters supporting Falun Gong practitioners, commending their spirit for abiding by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and demanding that the CCP immediately end the persecution.
John Baird, the Foreign Affairs Minister from Canada, was interviewed at a press conference on Monday, July 18 in Beijing. He expressed that although the purpose of his trip was to strengthen trade relations with China, he had publicly raised the issue of the persecution and inhumane suffering of Falun Gong practitioners to the Chinese government, and stressed that the Canadian government and people were closely following the persecution of Falun Gong in China.
Perhaps some people think that because someone is a member of a legislative body or is a foreign minister his words and behavior can have a certain impact, but when facing such a formidable persecution, what can ordinary citizens do? Under the CCP's iron fist and bloody rule, what can we do to save good people?
No matter who you are or what your status is, if you see Falun Gong practitioners being arrested, you can step forward. If you are brave you can calmly say a few words in a loud voice to defend them, such as, "Falun Gong practitioners are good people. To illegally arrest them is wrong."
If you are a teacher or a government employee, you could warn them, "Society needs people with moral integrity. Please do not collude with the CCP and commit a criminal act."
If you are a judge or lawyer, you could side with justice and say, "You are violating the law when you arrest Falun Gong practitioners; please act according to the law.”
If you are police or personnel from the 610 Office, when your assignment is to arrest practitioners, you can tell them, "We don't want to commit crimes, but we have orders to arrest you, so please leave immediately."
If everyone is able to conduct themselves accordingly, perhaps, with the strength of the masses, this desperate situation can be turned around.
Why should we preserve compassion and kindness?
Compassion and kindness reflect mankind's highest moral nature. In China, where people's moral character has degenerated to such a degree, sincerity, compassion and kindness are greatly needed. Jiang Zemin and the CCP, by prohibiting Falun Gong practitioners from practicing their beliefs, and by persecuting people that live according to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, are destroying China's most rare and precious treasures, and mankind's glorious nature. In China nowadays, don't people cheat and hurt others without any sense of conscience? If we don't have compassionate and kind people our nation will broach a perilous situation and be beyond redemption.
When the CCP persecutes Falun Gong, this persecution also extends to the masses. To speak for the people around you is the same as speaking for yourself. We are members of society and must bear responsibility towards society. Only if we work together can we end the madness.
Mankind's righteous value system should include sincerity, compassion, goodness, justice and fairness. No matter what person or group of people are quelling or destroying this value system, we should bravely step forward and defend it. We should protect mankind's righteous value system, which is the same as protecting ourselves.
