(Clearwisdom.net) Some fellow practitioners have talked about the states of other practitioners when they dealt with so-called illness karma. I want to share my personal understanding.
It seems that many practitioners still regard their undesirable physical conditions as “illness karma,” or they believe they are experiencing a test of “illness karma.” I have a different understanding. I believe that these veteran practitioners were persecuted physically by the evil, which took advantage of their notions whether they realized they had them or not. The ultimate purpose of the persecution is to hinder the progress of Fa-rectification, not just to test the practitioners in regards to “illness karma.”
Master said,
“By July 20th of 1999 I had already pushed all of the pre-July 20 students to their positions--I pushed you to your highest positions.” (“Touring North America to Teach the Fa”)
“Except for newer students, from July 20 of 1999 on, Master hasn't created any personal cultivation tests for you, and that's because overall your personal cultivation has changed in every respect so that it's in the direction of saving sentient beings and validating Dafa.” (“Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference”)
From Master's Fa teaching I came to understand that veteran practitioners are no longer in the personal cultivation stage, as we were before 1999. We are cultivating ourselves and eliminating all of our notions that are not in conformance with Dafa in the process of saving beings and validating the Fa. Master did not remove all of our notions, so that we could still exist in the human world. However, in this world we should recognize and reject these notions while saving beings and validating Dafa. Master will then remove these notions for us. In the process of doing the three things, the karma that we still have will also be eliminated.
Master clearly mentioned that no personal cultivation tests were arranged for veteran practitioners. By not understanding this, due to our notions and our attachments, we failed to deny the notions at the time, and the evil took advantage of this. At the same time we also stepped on the path arranged by the old forces. Through studying the Fa I came to understand that being locked up in the evil's den or suffering from an incorrect physical condition are both forms of the evil's interference and persecution. Thus it is very important to look inside for the reason why this could happen, and to deny the persecution. We should not take being persecuted as mere tests in cultivation, and thus passively acknowledge the persecution.
Some fellow practitioners have mentioned that some cultivators did a lot for the Fa but were nevertheless persecuted to death by the evil. I believe that those practitioners who still don't have a clear understanding of the Fa principles, also don't have a clear understanding of the difference between personal cultivation and cultivating during the Fa-rectification period. Thus they either don't clearly understand that our responsibility is to validate Dafa and save beings, or they don't recognize the fundamental difference between the arrangements made by Master and those made by the old forces.
Through studying the Fa I have come to understand that Master is omnipotent. Even if our practitioners chose not to come down to the Three Realms to help with Fa-rectification, but instead stayed in their original positions, Master's Fa-rectification would still succeed. If we were only concerned with our own Consummation, we did not need to enter the Three Realms and did not need to come to this world. We would have assimilated to the Fa in our original positions, and Master's Fa-rectification would have succeeded. Then why did we risk everything and come to this filthy human world? It was because we had the wish to assist Master in the Fa-rectification period. We wanted in the process to establish our mighty virtue. Then, how could this incomparably outstanding mighty virtue be achieved through only personal Consummation? This mighty virtue can only be achieved by cultivating ourselves well in this world while at the same time saving the beings who were once the kings of heavenly paradises, and who also risked everything to come to this world.
Those practitioners whom Master has already pushed to their positions of Consummation and whose divine sides have already been reactivated, should use their godly thoughts to eliminating the evil, including the evil interfering with our own bodies. We should also look inside for notions which may have been taken advantage of by the evil, and reject these notions and all the evil's interference. Don't acknowledge the so-called tests again. Those so-called tests are arranged by the old forces.
Usually when I've been interfered with, I have looked inside to find my notions, and at the same time sent out the thought, “I do not acknowledge this notion is mine, I don't want it.” For the interference, I send the thought, “I don't acknowledge any of the evil's interference.” My physical condition then returns back to normal.
I would like to discuss another point. I have an understanding of why some practitioners have been persecuted over and over again. Some persecuted practitioners frequently recall situations when they were persecuted, and their minds may be moved. They may think, “The next time I'm in this kind of situation I should do this or that.” We should not acknowledge the evil persecution or even its existence. Whenever we remember being persecuted we must deny and reject any of the evils' acts that we remember and the notions we had at that moment. We should not acknowledge any of it. At the same time we should discard all the attachments that may have led us to being persecuted, which were taken advantage of by the evil.
