(Clearwisdom.net) Twelve years ago, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) initiated the brutal persecution of Falun Gong. In front of the Chinese Embassy, Falun Gong practitioners continue to make the facts known and protest the persecution in a small garden. Around July 20 every year, many Falun Gong practitioners from all over the world come to Washington, DC, to participate in large scale events to make the public aware of the persecution. The peaceful protest in front of the Chinese Embassy is just one of those events.

Falun Gong practitioners have protested in front of the Chinese Embassy in Washington, DC, for years.

From 3:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. on July 14, Falun Gong practitioners from Taiwan held a peaceful protest in front of the embassy. They also wished that the CCP persecution of Falun Gong would end.

Mr. Chang Ching-hsi, Director of the Taiwan Falun Dafa Association, said, “Since 2000, Taiwan Falun Dafa practitioners have come to the Chinese Embassy around July 20 every year to protest the persecution. We are here so that more people will know about the persecution.”

Ms. Chou from Miaoli, Taiwan, is the mother of two young children and is also a high school teacher. This is her third time to come to DC to participate in the events protesting the CCP persecution.

Local practitioners have protested in front of the embassy for years. Ms. Tao said, “Since the CCP initiated the persecution on July 20, 1999, local practitioners have participated in the protest. Initially CCP officials came out of the embassy to curse us. I did not know about the embassy before the persecution began. Now we come here every day and will do so until the persecution ends.”

Falun Gong practitioners’ perseverance inspires the concern and support of many passersby. She said, “Once, CCP embassy officials distributed DVDs with information defaming Falun Gong to Chinese people who came for business and passersby. Undeceived, people who knew the facts about Falun Gong brought the DVD to practitioners and said, ‘The CCP killed students on June 4, 1989. Now it is persecuting Falun Gong.’”

Ms. Tao said police officers on duty have witnessed practitioners’ peaceful protest. One officer said, “However many of you come here, even hundreds, you follow Truth-Compassion-Forbearance. When I was tired, I always felt good after being here.”

Rain or shine, winter or summer, the practitioners let the facts be known in front of the embassy. Many of the local residents have been moved by their efforts, and some brought hot tea to the practitioners during the winter as a way to show their support.
