(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Shi Meiying was frequently harassed, detained and suffered various forms of torture. She was also illegally sentenced to seven years of imprisonment. Ms. Shi passed away as a result of the persecution at the age of 48.

In 2001, Ms. Shi mailed out several informational letters about Falun Dafa. As a result, she was sentenced to seven years of imprisonment by a Dongyang Court judge. She was then taken to Zhejiang Province Women's Prison and tortured. Her husband was given an eight-year jail term. At that time, their son and daughter, who were in elementary school, were left at home without their parents' care.

After she was released from prison, Ms. Shi was frequently harassed by personnel from the Yongkang City 610 Office.

Ms. Shi and her husband were arrested again on August 27, 2010. Staff from the 610 Office in Jinhua and Yongkang City, Chinese Communist Party personnel at Tangxian town, and the Xiangzhu police officers ransacked their home before taking them to the Shimen Farm Brainwashing Center. There, they were persecuted for over a month.

In the beginning of 2011, the Yongkang City 610 Office staff threatened that they would take Ms. Shi and her husband to Jinhua City and force them to practice a different kind of qigong. At that time, Ms. Shi's whole body was swollen because her health was deteriorating from the effects of being persecuted for over ten years. She passed away on June 17, 2011.

On May 25, 2011, the Yongkang City 610 Office held a forced brainwashing session. Initially, they stated that practitioners could voluntarily attend a string of sessions for 10 or more days. After several practitioners refused to attend, personnel from the neighborhood committee then threatened that if practitioners wouldn't attend, they would be taken to Ginghua for “training” that would take much longer.
