(Clearwisdom.net) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in ten cities or counties in five provinces. In this report, ten practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 11 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Hailin, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Chen Gongqiu Arrested
Ms. Chen Gongqiu from Hailin was taken to the Mudanjiang Police School by Tang Fengguo, director of the Hailin Politics and Law Committee, and others on the afternoon of May 26, 2011. They intended to send Ms. Chen to the Tielinghe Brainwashing Center in Mudanjiang, Heilongjiang Province.
2. [Dalian, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Shuqing Arrested
Ms. Liu Shuqing and another practitioner from Ganjingzi, Dalian, went out to talk to people about Falun Gong and distribute Falun Gong DVDs on the night of May 22, 2011. They were arrested and taken to the Ganjingzi Police Station. They were later sent to the Jinjiajie Drug Rehabilitation Center.
3. [Shanghai] Ms. Li Hongzhen Sent to Forced Labor Camp for One Year
Ms. Li Hongzhen was reported to police on February 18, 2011, while she was talking to people about Falun Gong in a supermarket. Domestic Security officers from the Chaochangning District went to her home and took her away. Ms. Li has been sentenced to one year of forced labor.
4. [Tianjin] Ms. Li Fengchun and Ms. Liu Shuying Arrested
Ms. Li Fengchun and Ms. Liu Shuying from Cuihuangkou Town, Wuqing District, Tianjin, were taken away from their homes by officers from the Cuihuangkou Police Station at 3:00 p.m. on May 24, 2011. They are being held in the Wuqing Detention Center.

5. [Tangshan, Hebei Province] Ms. Gong Yanfeng Forced to Become Homeless and Destitute
At 10:00 p.m. on April 20, 2011, Ms. Gong Yanfeng, who is in her fifties, from Dongxihu Village, Fengnan District, Tangshan, were arrested and taken to the Fengnan Detention Center by police while distributing Falun Gong materials. She was released on bail four days later. She has been forced to become homeless and destitute. The police are still monitoring her home.

6. [Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Jin Xiuxian and Daughter Ms. Jin Lu Arrested
Ms. Jin Xiuxian and her daughter, Ms. Jin Lu, were arrested by local police on May 23, 2011, while distributing Falun Gong materials. They are being detained in the Jingang Hotel in Duanzhuang, Xuzhou.
7. [Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Yuzhi and Ms. Wang Yulin Arrested
At 9:30 a.m. on May 26, 2011, Ms. Zhang Yuzhi and Ms. Wang Yulin, who is in her 70s, from Duzhuang Township, Funing County, Qinhuangdao, went to the Duzhuang Farmers Market to talk to people about Falun Gong. They were arrested by officers from the Duzhuang Police Station. The police also ransacked their homes and took them to the Funing Police Department.
8. [Nanpi County, Hebei Province] Ms. Guo Xiuwen and Ms. Wang Jing Arrested
Officers from the Luguan Township Police Station in Nanpi broke into the home of Ms. Guo Xiuwen in Luzhuangzi Village, Luguan, on the night of April 15, 2011. Ms. Guo and Ms. Wang Jing, who was visiting Ms. Guo, were taken away. Ms. Wang is being detained in the Nanpi Detention Center but Ms. Guo’s whereabouts are unknown.
9. [Qiyang County, Hunan Province] Ms. Zhang Mingxi Detained and Ms. Shen Qiaoyun Released
Ms. Shen Qiaoyun and Ms. Zhang Mingxi were reported to police while talking to people about Falun Gong. They were arrested by plainclothes officers from the Qiyang Police Department on the morning of May 24, 2011. Ms. Shen was released that afternoon. Ms. Zhang is still being detained.
10. [Rizhao, Shandong Province] Ms. Ma Yujuan Persecuted
Ms. Ma Yujuan, 36, was arrested in 2009, and is currently being detained in the Shandong Second Women’s Forced Labor Camp. In the forced labor camp, she was tortured, became very weak, and vomited blood. She was later hospitalized.
The camp replaced the old beds with new ones at the end of 2010, but they did not replace the bed in the cell where Ms. Ma was detained. She has slept on the floor.

11. [Shanghai] Ms. Gao Qinmei Sent to the Qingpu Brainwashing Center in Shanghai
Ms. Gao Qinmei was arrested by Domestic Security Agents from the Changning District, Shanghai, on April 14, 2011. She is being detained in the Qingpu Brainwashing Center.
12. [Tangshan, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Weidong and His Wife Li Wen’e Arrested
On May 25, 2011, Gao Xueguo and others from the Nanyan Police Station, Nanbao Developing District Police Department, and the Tangshan Domestic Security Team arrested Mr. Wang Weidong and his wife, Li Wen’e. Ms. Li was released that night. Mr. Wang was sent to Tangshan and his whereabouts are currently unknown.
The police ransacked the couple’s home and took away a computer, a printer, a camera, gold necklaces, gold rings, bankbooks, cash, etc. Although Ms. Li was released, she and her son have no money.

13. [Xingtai, Hebei Province] Ms. Fan Xiaoli’s Husband Arrested
Ms. Fan Xiaoli’s husband, who is not a Falun Gong practitioner, was taken away by officers from the Longyao County Police Department at 8 a.m. on May 25, 2011, to the local detention center.

14. [Shahe, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Lianzhen Persecuted
Ms. Wang Lianzhen was reported to police while talking to people about Falun Gong in Ershiye Park on the afternoon of March 6, 2011. Hou Shouhong and other Domestic Security Agents took her to the local detention center. She was released two days later.
15. [Wendeng, Shandong Province] Ms. Shao Xirong’s Home Ransacked
Officers from the Houjia Police Station of Wendeng went to ransack Ms. Shao Xirong’s home in Dabaihu on May 11, 2011. They took away Dafa books and Falun Gong materials. Three days later, chief Qu Xuejiang of the Houjia Police Station and Deputy chiefs Sun Guohai and Zhang Tiangang from the appeals office, along with five other police officers, intended to take Ms. Shao to the brainwashing center but their plan failed. The police continued harassing Ms. Shao’s home afterwards.
