Background

In “Fa Teaching Given at the Fa Conference Marking the Tenth Anniversary of the Minghui Website’s Founding” Master said,

“It can be said that among the websites that Dafa disciples run, this is a crucial one. From the day it was set up it was firmly established as a vehicle for Dafa disciples’ cultivation and their sharing of experiences, and meant to report on the persecution of Dafa disciples in a timely manner.”

This was a good reminder to us of the importance of the website, both for clarifying the truth and for maintaining a cultivation environment for practitioners around the world.

We are now examining whether we have effectively served the needs of our English-speaking readers. Most practitioners have benefited immeasurably from reading the translated cultivation sharing articles by practitioners in mainland China and without the firsthand accounts of the persecution we could not have even begun to clarify the truth about the persecution. As Master has said in the above-mentioned lecture, the situation in China is still the main focus of the website. At the same time, given our mission to clarify the truth to the Western world, we must think about how to present our message in a way that is better accepted in Western society.

Other than providing content translated from minghui.ca, we wish to provide considerably more content that is designed for the Western reader. We also wish to better equip practitioners and supporters by providing a repository of materials that can be easily adapted to effectively clarify the truth in different settings.

Since publishing “Guidelines for Writing Experience Sharing Articles” http://www.clearwisdom.net/html/articles/2010/6/8/117721.html Clearwisdom has received more submissions of cultivation sharing articles by Western practitioners, and this has surely enhanced the cultivation environment around the world. The volunteers at Clearwisdom appreciate those who have taken the time to contribute articles.

Taking it a step further, we would like to invite practitioners around the world to contribute any product or idea that could help improve the effectiveness of our truth-clarification efforts in the West.

Call for Materials

Practitioners around the world have been taking the initiative to clarify the truth in their local communities for over ten years. Thus, we know that there is already a wealth of quality materials out there that can be published as is, or after improvement for further use. The following is a list of types of materials that would be beneficial. Of course, practitioners should not limit themselves to contributing only listed items if they have other ideas.

  • Flyers introducing Falun Gong and/or exposing the persecution

  • Booklets, magazines and other publications introducing Falun Gong and/or exposing the persecution

  • High quality photos (for use in flyers, articles, galleries, and so on)

  • High quality video and audio presentations

  • Analysis (charts, graphs, and/or statistical analysis) in various formats

  • Posters and display boards

  • Banners and signs

  • PowerPoint presentations

  • Bookmarks and greeting cards

While a newsletter or a press release created for a specific region may not be directly usable by other regions, please be encouraged to submit such an item as an example to inspire others, perhaps along with a brief article providing a little background about the product and its use.

Submission Guidelines

  • Please submit all materials, or links to them, via email.

  • Email submissions should not exceed 4MB in size. If higher resolution versions of materials submitted are available, please indicate this in your email.

  • For videos and other high-bandwidth submissions, a link to an online download could be provided. Videos or photos that you have uploaded to YouTube, Flickr, or similar file sharing sites can be submitted by simply sending links to them.

  • For printed materials, PDF submissions are fine. However, such materials often need modification for use in other English speaking countries (to correct for regional spelling differences or to revise contact information, for example) so please indicate if original files in popular design software formats (eg. Adobe Illustrator or InDesign) are available. Do not submit the original design files via email, however, if the total email file size exceeds 4MB. You may be asked to submit these files at a later date.

  • Materials submitted should not contain any copyrighted material unless you are the copyright owner and are prepared to give Clearwisdom and its readers the right to use the materials freely.

  • By submitting the material to Clearwisdom, you grant Clearwisdom the right to make further modifications.

Where to Submit

Please follow the submission guidelines above and send your email to:

outreach((at))clearwisdom.net

Please replace ((at)) with @ in your submission.

In Closing

We thank all practitioners and supporters for contributing to the success of the Clearwisdom website. In addition to items that have already been produced, please continue to send in materials as they are developed and also provide your input on how to maximize the impact of the Clearwisdom website and the truth-clarification efforts of the entire body of Dafa practitioners.
