(Clearwisdom.net) I am 82 years old, and I was diagnosed with esophagus cancer at the No. 324 Hospital in Jiangbei, Chongqing. I was hospitalized for nine months and the doctor told me that I had late-stage cancer, and had only ten to twenty days to live. At that time, I was unable to even swallow water.
I started practicing Falun Dafa in 1996 because I had witnessed the changes in my wife. She used to have heart disease and arthritis, which caused her a lot of difficulty in walking. All her diseases disappeared after she had begun Dafa cultivation in 1995. When I first started practicing Falun Dafa, I saw the rotating Falun, which I understood as a sign of Master's encouragement for me.
Although I knew the value of Falun Dafa, I stopped my cultivation when the Chinese Communist Party launched its persecution against Falun Dafa in 1999. My wife was detained by the local police because she practiced Dafa. I went to the police station to urge them to release my wife, since she had not done anything wrong or illegal. This suspension of my cultivation caused my karma to come out and I developed a late-stage esophagus cancer in 2002. For three months I was spitting up blood and suffering from high fever. It was at this time that I realized I had to go back to Dafa cultivation, despite the doctor's diagnosis that I only had a few days to live. I believed only in Master with all of my heart.
In spite of my high fever and spitting blood, I was determined to study and memorize the Fa, and practice the exercises. One night I felt as if hot currents were running through my body, and the next day my body felt light and I was able to eat and swallow food! I had passed the trial! There were ten cancer patients in the factory where I had worked and all of them except me passed away. I knew it was Master who saved me.
There might be another cause for my test of cancer. I previously criticized others often and did not look within for my own shortcomings. I had a strong attachment to competition and always wanted to win. Through this test, I recognized my attachments and tried to get rid of them. I was able to let go of my tendency to fight during confrontations.
When I was “seriously sick,” I walked nearly five miles to explain the facts about Dafa with my wife. Many people we met, including my family members, doctors, officials, and principals quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. It was a miracle in people's eyes that a late-stage cancer patient like myself, who was unable to swallow water, could walk that long and had survived cancer despite old age. This was due to the almighty power of Falun Dafa and Master. My wife and I will continue doing the three things well and saving sentient beings. By accomplishing our missions, we want to return to our true home without any regrets.
My wife and I are illiterate, but we can express ourselves by talking. I'd like to share my story with fellow practitioners who are in the midst of “sickness karma.” By trusting Master and the Fa and looking within, you will be able to pass the test and return to the right state of cultivation.
