(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zuo Fusheng from Fuzhou City, Fujian Province was illegally arrested by police on January 19, 2011. He is being detained in the Fuzhou First Detention Center. Mr. Zuo's 80-year-old mother asked an attorney from another city to represent him. On February 14, 2011, the attorney went to the Fuzhou First Detention Center and requested to visit Zuo Fusheng according to the law. However, the center refused him to let him visit with his client with the excuse that the attorney had to be accompanied by the person in charge of the case. Actually, according to the law, the attorney has the right to visit his client and does not require approval from the person in charge of the case. It was the Fuzhou Detention Center that violated the regulation. The center also refused to provide the name of the person in charge of the case, saying that they only provided the information to the police. The attorney visited a representative from the Procuratorate in the detention center and found that the person in charge was Lin Feng from the Domestic Security Team of the Fuzhou Police Department. The attorney then made a phone call to the Domestic Security Team. The person who answered the phone identified himself as Liu and said he did not know a Lin Feng and that there was no Lin Feng in the Domestic Security Team.
The attorney sent a letter to both the Fuzhou and Cangshan Procuratorates. On February 23, 2011, the attorney received a response from his local judicial bureau requesting that he drop Zuo Fusheng's case.
It has been reported that Zuo Fusheng was transferred to Cell 106. His mother did not receive his letters after receiving a postcard from him. She does not know if he received the money and clothes she sent to him.
