(Clearwisdom.net) The Chinese Communist Party's (CCP's) prisons and labor camps are indeed hell on earth. The persecution of Falun Gong practitioners is especially cruel there. Prison guards frequently scream at practitioners, “Transformation or cremation!” Three Falun Gong practitioners were recently killed in the process of “transformation” in Jiamusi Prison, Heilongjiang Province.
Personnel at the Jiamusi Prison started to move practitioners into the newly created “Strict Management Ward” on February 21, 2011. Among other torture methods used there, the prison authorities assigned multiple inmate “helpers” to each practitioner, who coerce practitioners every day to write the so-called “Four Statements” to renounce Falun Gong.
Practitioner Mr. Qin Yueming died of torture on February 26, and practitioner Mr. Yu Yungang went into a coma on March 1. When Mr. Yu Yungang died on March 5, dozens of police officers surrounded his hospital ward in order to keep his family members away, and then hurriedly removed his body to destroy evidence of the abuse that led to his death. Mr. Liu Chuanjiang died in police custody early in the morning of March 8, 2011.
As of this writing, there are still many practitioners in the “Strict Management Ward.” Things are not much better in the regular divisions either, where practitioners are also subject to violent transformation attempts.
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has issued a “transformation quota” to each prison and labor camp to force Falun Gong practitioners to give up their belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and has made reaching the quota an incentive for promotions and bonuses for the prison guards. In order to meet the required number of transformed practitioners, the guards brutally torture them and coerce inmates to join them by offering them term reductions.
Falun Gong practitioners are good people who are trying to become better by following Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Because they refuse to give in to the CCP, they are tortured and killed in the regime's prisons and labor camps.
Over the past few years, more and more people have seen through CCP deception and anti-Falun Gong propaganda. As the violence against Falun Gong practitioners has been more widely exposed and condemned by the world's people, the CCP had to make the persecution go underground. Even though on the surface there seems to be no more anti-Falun Gong campaigns, the persecution is still ferociously carried out in the background. What happened in the Jiamusi Prison is only the tip of the iceberg of what is happening in all the prisons and forced labor camps throughout China. There are still a large number of Falun Gong practitioners wrongfully imprisoned in these places and under tremendous suffering every single day.
According to WOIPFG (World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong) report, An Investigative Report on the Unlawful Imprisonment in Prisons and Labor Camps of Falun Gong by Chinese Communist Regime since the Olympics, between January 2008 and February 2010, at least 1,361 Falun Gong practitioners were sentenced to prison for five years and one month on average, with 18 years the longest term.
At least 557 Falun Gong practitioners nationwide were unlawfully sentenced to prison in 2010, topped by Liaoning and Heilongjiang provinces, with 65 and 51 practitioners, respectively, wrongfully sentenced. The situation is also very serious in Shandong, Sichuan and Guangdong Provinces. The figures are based on cases that were made known by breaching the Internet blockade. In addition to the figures above, even more practitioners were sent to forced labor camps without any lawful procedures being followed.
The persecution of Falun Gong has continued for nearly 12 years and has claimed at least 3,419 lives (including only confirmed cases). Most of the practitioners who died were killed during such violent “transformations” in prisons and forced labor camps. Again, the figure only includes cases that that have been reported and documented. The actual number is likely many times greater.

The torture and killing of innocent and good people should be offensive to all people who have any sense of conscience. The persecution is poisoning China's social fabric and is dragging the entire country down. We cannot just sit quietly and allow the CCP's violence to continue. We should immediately stop the CCP from harming and murdering good people.
