(Clearwisdom.net) More and more Chinese people have been visiting other countries. In other countries, they find that the cultures and lifestyles of the people are very different than the people in China. Quite a few of these Chinese people are surprised to learn that they did not know a lot of what has been happening in their own country.
Regarding the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong, many Chinese people think that the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) is not mentioning Falun Gong any more. However, they find that many people outside of China are still practicing Falun Gong and practitioners can be found at almost all famous tourist spots. Falun Gong was introduced first in China and then spread all over the world. Why is no one in China practicing Falun Gong in public? How much of the country's resources has the CCP used to force Falun Gong practitioners to stay at home for more than 10 years?
Many Chinese people do not know about the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong, since the media in China are completely controlled by the CCP. For the same reason, many Chinese people don't even know about some serious natural disasters that occurred in their own country. At the start of the persecution of Falun Gong, the media kept reporting how the CCP “patiently converted” Falun Gong practitioners. Of course, people who understand the unreasonable and violent characteristics of the CCP might speculate that beautiful stories on the surface were likely used to cover up the brutal torture behind the scenes. However, they could only guess and still lacked the truth. When Falun Gong practitioners clarified the truth of the persecution to the people all over the world, some of them were shocked.
Quite a few Chinese people did not have the chance to hear the truth of Falun Gong in China. When they went abroad and saw the displays or fliers to expose how the CCP persecutes Falun Gong, they were shocked.
On January 27, 2011, it was very cold in Helsinki, the capital of Finland. Finnish Falun Gong practitioners held a candlelight vigil in front of the Stockmann Department Store in downtown Helsinki. While mourning the Falun Gong practitioners who were persecuted to death, they also clarified the truth to passersby.
Around 3 p.m., Falun Gong practitioners started to hang banners, set up the displays to expose the methods the CCP used to torture Falun Gong practitioners, and played the songs, “Candlelight” and “Please sit by my side.” People stopped and asked for details. Many people who understood the truth signed their names on a petition. They mentioned that they would tell their family and friends about the persecution facts of Falun Gong.
A company manager, Yani, told a Falun Gong practitioner there that he had lived in China for five years. He understood how strictly the CCP blocked the internet. Therefore, it's difficult to know the things that were happening even when living there.
Many Chinese tourists also stopped to read the displays. A lady told us that she had never heard of the persecution of Falun Gong in China. She took a lot of pictures and said that she would take the pictures back home.
The understanding of a foreigner about the CCP's media control was very persuasive. It was based on comparing the freedoms of speech between his own country and China. A Chinese female tourist's words served to prove his point of view. How could she hear nothing about the persecution against Falun Gong in China? Isn't this the result of the CCP's media control?
In October 2009, a young Chinese lady attended the Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance International Art Exhibition in the Crimean Peninsula and said, “I felt very peaceful as soon as I entered. My stressful mood was soon relaxed. When I saw so many people coming to see Chinese artists' paintings, I was proud to be Chinese. When I learned that these paintings traveled to more than 40 countries and more than 20 exhibitions were held for them, I was shocked. Tears welled up in my eyes. It's a feeling that I can't describe... It's like something that I was waiting for for a long time. Especially when I saw the gods all over the sky reading Zhuan Falun and following Master Li, I felt that I was one of them. It's an amazing thought, truly. These paintings demonstrated the best elements of Chinese culture, and brought people into another dimension. When I was in China, I never thought of going to see a painting exhibition. I did not really know how to enjoy art. However, with this very special chance in another country, I can see these paintings from benevolent and righteous Chinese painters. I really cherish this chance.”
Why would the things happening in China be judged more fairly only on the soil of other countries? Many Chinese people understand that it is impossible to report on Falun Gong in China from a positive angle and display pictures from the persecution. The pictures on display were all taken after Falun Gong practitioners in China had been tortured. They contain detailed information about tortured practitioners. Quite a few of them were tortured to the point of disability and some even died. These kinds of pictures would definitely be categorized by the CCP as “damaging China's image.” Do the pictures really damage China's image or does the behavior of the CCP damage China's image? I hope that the Chinese people who currently don't have a chance to visit another country cherish this kind of information when they receive it.
