Gaozhou Father and Son Sentenced and Sent to Forced Labor Camp
(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Wu Zuqiang from Gaozhou, Guangdong Province, was arrested by three police officers on the afternoon of October 25, 2010. The Maoming 610 Office dispatched two vehicles to escort Mr. Wu to his home. They surrounded the home and removed his computer, printer, motorcycle, Dafa materials, and other personal items. The police pilfered almost everything in the house, including about 26,000 yuan in cash. Mr. Wu's son, Wu Xianjin, was at home at the time and was arrested.
Mr. Wu and his son were detained in the “Legal System School” (a brainwashing center) in Maoming between October 26, 2010 and December 21, 2010. Mr. Wu and his son were then transferred to the Gaozhou Detention Center on December 22, 2010.
On April 22, 2011, the Gaozhou Court put Mr. Wu, who is in his sixties, on trial. On July 18, 2011, the court sentenced him to eight years in prison. Mr. Wu promptly submitted an appeal to the Maoming Intermediate Court. On September 5, 2011, that court upheld the original verdict. Mr. Wu is still being detained in the Gaozhou Detention Center.
Mr. Wu Xianjin was sentenced to one year of forced labor, and sent to Sanshui Forced Labor Camp in February 2011.
