I suffered from different illnesses before I practiced Falun Gong.
After I began to practice in 1996, I went through tremendous
changes, inside and out. The second night after watching Master’s
lectures my stomach suddenly hurt. I told my stomach: stop hurting
because I wanted to watch Master’s lectures. As I said so, it
actually stopped hurting. After I got home that night, however, I
had a high fever and needed to run to use the toilet many times.
Nevertheless, the next day, everything returned to normal. I
continued listening to Master’s lectures. When I heard that Master
told us how he cleansed disciples’ bodies I completely understood
what was happening to me. Master cleansed my body for three nights,
and after that, all of the illnesses that I had before were healed.
It was truly a miracle.
I gave the evil forces some loopholes not long ago when I busied
myself with ordinary people’s things. Getting up one day, I felt
uncomfortable. I knew that I was fine, so I went to practice the
exercises. When I finished I noticed that my face and my right hand
were swollen and I could not speak. Looking inside right away, I
found out that I was attached to emotions and that I did not study
the Fa well. I also had not clarified the truth about Falun
Gong. I increased my Fa-study and sending righteous thoughts. My
residence is a group-study site; hence practitioners came to my
residence and helped me send righteous thoughts. After I studied
the Fa, practiced the exercises, and sent righteous thoughts
diligently, my physical condition improved.
But I lost control of my bowels one day. I was not scared because I
knew that Master was right with me and I must disintegrate the evil
forces. Very soon everything returned to normal. One morning in the
bathroom I heard a voice telling me, “Every single cell and all of
your body organs have your image. You are in charge.” Suddenly, I
felt a hot flow permeating my body, and all of the discomfort
vanished.
I have such a magnificent Master protecting me. There is no reason for me not to be diligent. I must do what Master tells me so that I can save more sentient beings.

Other practitioners and I were incarcerated at our work place after
the persecution started in July 1999. The evildoers monitored me
around the clock. After we were free, we went to Beijing to appeal.
We practiced the exercises at Tiananmen Square. Because of that,
some police yelled profanities at us and hit us. We were dragged
onto a police vehicle and later held in a detention center.
Eventually we were taken back and detained in our own workplace
again. During the entire time I continuously told those who guarded
us the facts. When they took turns watching me in four shifts I
told them the truth, in one shift after another.
I was released a month later, but was called in every day because
they were afraid I would go to Beijing again. One day someone at my
workplace called me to go talk to them. They called me three times,
but I refused to go. After that, they came to my residence to take
me with them. On my way there I asked Master to protect me. The
room was full of people when we got there. Fearlessly I told them,
“After practicing Falun Gong, I changed from having to take
medicine everyday to a person without any physical problems at all.
Right now, I’m in very good health. If something happens to me,
you’ll have to take full responsibility. If you have nothing to
say, I’ll leave now.” Then they all stood up and watched me leave.
At that moment I had no fear. From then on, no one bothered me
anymore.
One day when practitioners from other areas brought many Falun Gong
materials, my attachments to fear and uneasiness surfaced. Because
of that I was scared when I went out to distribute the materials. I
felt like my heart was going to jump out. I felt as if there were
evil forces everywhere. Consequently, I did not hand out any
materials and had to take all of them home. To eliminate the
attachment of fear, I sent righteous thoughts. When I went out
again I was not as afraid as before. It is very important to send
righteous thoughts. From then on I took sending righteous thoughts
very seriously.
Once, I returned to my hometown to visit a friend. It was snowing
heavily. Before leaving my residence I asked Master, “Master,
please arrange those who have predestined relations with me to come
to me so that I can offer them salvation.” As soon as I left home I
came across my cousin and helped him to do the “Three Withdrawals.”
Walking in the heavy snow I fell down numerous times, but I did not
give up and helped about 100 people to quit the Party's
organizations that day.
To help taxi drivers learn the truth, sometimes I even took
taxis to places that were not very far away from where I needed to
go. I gave information about Falun Gong to a taxi driver. I also
told him Party members should all quit the Party. He replied, “OK,
I’ll quit.” I left him the materials and I paid him with the bills
that had, “Falun Dafa is good,” and “Quit the Party to protect your
life” written on them. Recently I ran into this taxi driver again.
Happily he told me, “Thank you very much! Falun Dafa is truly good!
I chanted ‘Falun Dafa is good’ every day, and my enteritis that I
had had for many years was healed. I wrote down ‘Falun Dafa is
good,’ ‘Quit the CCP to protect your life’ on all of the bills I
have.”
Master taught me to read and write
I used to just go to join the group practice and leave
after doing the exercises. The local coordinator told me that I
should join the group Fa-study too. I was over sixty years old when
I obtained the Fa and illiterate. What could I do? A few days after
that I opened Zhuan Falun and looked at Master’s smile
for a long time. I told Master, “Master, I must learn how to read
the Fa.”
When I looked at Zhuan Falun another day, I noticed that every single word in the book had a golden box surround it, and all the words were shiny. I was very excited because I knew that Master showed that to me to encourage me. With Master’s encouragement and practitioners’ help and my family’s support, very quickly I was able to read the Fa. I felt Master’s mighty virtue and the miracles of Dafa even more. After that I went to my hometown to tell people about Falun Gong. All of my relatives I spoke to could not believe what had happened to me, saying it was miraculous, and because of that, many also began to practice Falun Gong.
I had another wish--to copy the Fa--but I had never copied any words before. One day at my son’s house I said, “I want to copy the Fa.” Unexpectedly my son said, “You should have done it a long time ago.”
My son and daughter-in-law supported me in my effort to copy the
Fa and brought many notebooks for me. This is how I began to learn
to write. The first time I simply traced the strokes on paper. It
took me about five hours to finish copying half a page. That night
at 1:00 a.m. I suddenly saw that every single word that I wrote was
glistening like small pearls. It felt as if I were dreaming that
Master was holding my hands to write. That feeling was so amazing
that I cannot find any words to describe it. From then on I could
copy faster. Every night I went to bed at 1:00 a.m. and three
months later, I finished copying the Fa.
When practitioners worldwide began to send righteous thoughts
together four times a day, I began studying the Fa every night and
do not go to bed until after sending righteous at midnight. I tell
myself that I must send righteous thoughts so that I will not
provide the evil forces with any loopholes. Since all the
practitioners in China began to practice the exercises at 3:45
every morning, I have also joined the group practice every
morning.
I have one attachment--which is that I do not like to hear
criticism. I am like what Master said,
“Some people have become like matches--one stroke and they ignite. They're like land mines--one step and they detonate. [They are acting like,] "You can't criticize me. I can't take any criticism."" ("Teaching the Fa in the City of Los Angeles" 2006)
Having read this part of the lecture, I know I must eliminate
that attachment.
