Mr. Ma Guohua, Former Teacher at Northeast Normal University, Sent to Forced Labor Camp; His Family Requests His Release

(Clearwisdom.net) On September 9, 2011, officers from the Guilin Road Police Station arrested Mr. Ma Guohua and ransacked his home, as ordered by the Domestic Security Division of the Chaoyang Police Sub-bureau in Changchun City. The police immediately sent Mr. Ma to the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp. Mr. Ma's family recently submitted a request for an administrative review of his case, asking that the forced labor sentence be nullified and that Mr. Ma be released.

Mr. Ma, about 40, was formerly a teacher at Northeast Normal University and now works for Bainaohui Technology City. At 9:30 a.m. on September 9, 2011, a group of officers from the Guilin Road Police Station arrived at Mr. Ma's workplace, handcuffed him, and took him away.

Mr. Ma was taken to the interrogation room in the Chaoyang Police Sub-bureau. The officers first handcuffed him to an iron chair, and then interrogated and threatened him. Later that afternoon, the officers escorted Mr. Ma to his home. When Mr. Ma refused to let the officers in, Yang Fan, deputy director of the Guilin Road Police Station, swore at him and hit him in the face several times. The officers searched Mr. Ma for the house key and let themselves into his home, which they then ransacked. The officers confiscated Falun Dafa books, a computer, hard drives, and other personal belongings. Mr. Ma was later taken to the Weizigou Detention Center.

Mr. Ma refused to confess to any crime, so the police used the confiscated Falun Dafa books and other materials as so-called evidence against him. They charged him with disturbing the public peace and sent him to the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp to serve a one-year term.

Mr. Ma and his family refused to accept this sentence. Mr. Ma was illegally arrested while at his workplace, and he was not disturbing the public peace. The family's request for administrative review has been submitted to the Administrative Review Branch of Legislative Affairs Bureau of Changchun City.
