(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Liu Zhenling and Ms. Tian Jinshu are both from Zhaigezhuang Village, Nanjianta Town, Guangyang District, Langfang City in Hebei Province. They started practicing Falun Gong before the persecution started in 1999.

Ms. Liu went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. She was arrested on her way back home and was detained at Nanjianta Town Hall. They forced to do hard labor during the day and deprived her of sleep at night. She was also made to watch videos slandering Falun Gong and write a guarantee statement to renounce her belief. Before she was released, the police extorted 500 yuan from her.

In October 1999, Ms. Liu was told to go to the town hall to sign some documents defaming Falun Gong. When she refused, she was taken to the police station and was detained there for 15 days. The officers handcuffed her, hung her up off the ground and beat her. She was not released until her family paid them 1,000 yuan.

Ms. Liu went to Beijing again to appeal in 2000. She was arrested and detained at the local police station. The Party Secretary of the Nanjianta Political and Juridical Committee, Gu Jinze, and a few others used rubber batons to beat her face and legs. As a result, her mouth became swollen and festered to the extent that she couldn't eat. Her legs were covered in bruises and she was in a great deal of pain. During her detention, the head of the Nanjianta Police Station You Changbo used electric batons to shock her face and head, leaving her head bleeding, and her hair started to fall out. After being interrogated, Ms. Liu was handcuffed to the heating pipes and was left there for the whole night. In the morning, she was tied up with rope and taken to Nandian Village to be publicly denounced. Ms. Liu was held in a detention center for one month, and was then transferred to a government building in Nanjianta, where she was held for another month. She was taken back to the detention center for another month before being released. Officials from the Nanjianta government, the police station, Zhao Changjiu from the village committee, Tian Jinliang and others often monitored Ms. Liu home and harassed her.

Officials from the Nanjianta government and police station went to Ms. Liu's home in September 2000 and forcibly took her away. She was then sentenced to Kaiping Forced Labor Camp in Hebei for three years. At the camp, she was often forced to stand for long periods of time, brutally forced-fed and beaten. When Ms. Liu was in critical condition in 2001, officials at the camp notified her family members to take her home.

Ms. Tian was detained at the brainwashing center on July 20, 1999, and was forced to write a guarantee statement to give up practicing Falun Gong. She was only released when her family members paid the brainwashing center 500 yuan. During the time of the National People's Congress and the Chinese Political Consultative Conference in 2000, she was arrested and taken to the brainwashing center again, and forced to do hard labor. One evening, You Changbo and Gu Jinze took a group of people to her room. They had her kneel down and threatened her. She was detained for five days, and was only released after her family members paid them 300 yuan.

The head of Zhaigezhuang Village Zhao Changjiu, village security guards Tian Jinliang and Li Bolin, and police officers Gao and Wei went Ms. Tian's home on July 20, 2000 to harass her. When they saw her Falun Gong books they confiscated them and then went to her sister-in-law's home, as they believed her sister-in-law had provided her with the books. They extorted 500 yuan from her and detained Ms. Tian for seven days.

Ms. Tian went to Beijing to appeal on October 1, 2000. She was arrested and taken back to the Nanjianta Police Station, where she was slapped in the face and forced to stand for long periods of time. She was then taken to the detention center that evening, and was held there for 30 days. Ms. Tian was then sentenced to Tangshan Forced Labor Camp. On the evening of January 2, 2001, she was slapped in the face twice and forced to stand outside in the freezing cold for two hours.

In 2006, Ms. Liu and Ms. Tian were arrested by officers from the Nanjianta Police Station when they were seen putting up truth-clarification posters. They were taken to Langfang Brainwashing Center, where guard Han Zhiguang and others tortured them. They were also injected with unknown drugs at Langfang Chinese Medicine Hospital. Han, Zhao Lihua and Li Hansong continued to threaten them and told them lies about Falun Gong in an attempt to get them to renounce their belief. Inmate Ba Huiyin also actively participated in the persecution of practitioners at the brainwashing center.

Ms. Liu and Ms. Tian were reported to the authorities on the evening of September 4, 2011, when they were seen talking to people about Falun Gong. They were taken to Langfang Brainwashing Center, and their family members were not allowed to visit them. When their family members went to talk to the officials at the Domestic Security Division, one of the officers there said in a very rude way, “If they refuse to renounce their belief, they will not be released.”

Ms. Liu was transferred to a forced labor camp on September 29, were she was sentenced to three years.
