While It Is a Challenge to Cultivate One's Heart, It Is Attainable
I am a young practitioner at the age of developing my career. I work as an engineer at a state-run corporation and I'm a key member of the team. All the xinxing tests I have experienced have been most critical ones. My colleagues would take credit for the work I have done or pursue fame or personal gain via networking. Sometimes I passed these xinxing tests, but other times I did not. But I have always persevered in continuing my cultivation practice. This is the life of a state-run corporation. Those who took credit for my accomplishments have climbed up the corporate ladder while I remained where I was. Nevertheless, I have been following the Fa because I have learned from the Fa to differentriate what I truly want from what I do not.
Just as Teacher has said, "But normally when a problem arises, if it does not irritate a person psychologically, it does not count or is useless and cannot make him or her improve." (Lecture Four of Zhuan Falun)
State-run corporations are mostly monopolies with many unnecessary job positions. Even an employee's evaluation could be written by himself. One day I accidentally read a self-promotional evaluation written by a colleague, in which she boasted my work accomplishments as her own. I was pretty mad at the time. I thought: "You couldn't even fix a problem with your own computer. How could you possibly fix any problems in the software I am developing?" Then it suddenly dawned on me that it was not a coincidence that I saw files on this computer. I wondered why my colleagues repeatedly claimed credit for my work accomplishments.
There must be a reason. I started to send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate my attachments to fame, personal gain and other human emotions. I also sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the old forces' arrangements.
Teacher said,
"It is precisely because that person has created this conflict for you that there is this opportunity to improve xinxing, and you can make use of it to upgrade your own xinxing. Isn’t your xinxing raised this way? You have gained in three ways. You are a practitioner. With xinxing upgraded, won’t your gong also increase? You have gained four ways in one shot. Why shouldn’t you thank that person? You should sincerely thank him from the bottom of your heart—it is actually so." (Zhuan Falun)
Remembering this passage of the Fa truly put a smile on my face.
Grasp the Opportunity to Clarify the Truth
My office is very slow-paced, although we all have good pay. Everyone has a different opinion of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Some are obedient yet oppose the CCP. It is a lot of work to clarify the truth about the CCP to them. Sometimes when I clarified the truth to a colleague and he agreed to quit the CCP and/or its affiliated student organizations, the next day he would say bad things about Falun Gong based on the CCP's propaganda. It did not discourage me. I continue to clarify the truth about the CCP and Falun Gong at opportune moments so that they will understand Falun Gong better.
One day I found a wallet without any cash, but with many ID cards and an ATM card. I knew right away it must have been stolen and thrown away. I contacted the owner according to the contact information on the ID and returned the wallet to him. He thanked me profusely and offered me cigarettes and to buy me dinner, but I declined his offers. I told him that I am a Falun Gong practitioner and asked him not to trust any hate propoganda on TV. I told him that it must have been predestined that we met each other and urged him to find out more about Falun Gong.
His face turned red. I decided that this must be a sign that the CCP elements are diminishing. He confessed that he agreed with my points when we parted.
One day my wife got a call from a stranger, who claimed that she had accidentally entered my wife's mobile phone number when she added 100 yuan to the phone service. She asked us to add 100 yuan to her mobile phone in return. I was very familiar with high-tech fraud, so I took the phone and told her she had the wrong number. Then I hung up the phone. After a while, the stranger called repeatedly and I told my wife not to pick it up. Then she stopped calling. One day later when I was making payments on-line, my wife asked me to pay for her mobile phone bill. That was when I found a 100-yuan credit balance. My wife said she had not paid for the bill. She said, "I got 100 yuan for free." I realized that the stranger had been telling the truth. I called the stranger back and added 100 yuan to her mobile phone. After she expressed her gratitude, I told her, "I practice Falun Gong. It is a righteous cultivation practice, but it now faces hate propaganda created by the CCP. Please remember that Falun Gong is a righteous cultivation practice and that Falun Gong is good. My action today should illustrate the way of Falun Gong. I hope that you will change your opinon of Falun Gong." We chatted for a while. I could tell that she had changed her opinon of Falun Gong.
Righteous Thoughts and Righteous Actions—Assisting Teacher in the Fa-Rectification
In my opinion, righteous thoughts are a sharp weapon that Teacher has given us that is capable of everything. I cannot see anything with my Celestial Eye. Although I cannot see the effect of my righteous thoughts, I can feel them. When I have a lot of righteous thoughts, my thoughts are pure and serene. I feel myself tall and big beyond comparison. Sometimes I can hear beautiful, pure music when I have pure thoughts. It is celestial music from heaven that I have never heard before. Sometimes I feel I could almost see a golden wreath rotating in the sky! Righteous thoughts are pure, righteous and beautiful! They are also a manifestation of the Fa. Each time I feel this way, I feel I'm powerful, and all the evil, dark minions, rotten demons, depraved gods, and the Communist Party spirits will be eliminated with such pure thoughts.
One day I felt someone choking my neck. I opened my eyes to find a dark shape over me with one arm pinning down my right arm and the other over my neck. I was not afraid. I said softly, "What do you think you are doing? I am a practitioner that follows the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The dark shape glanced at me, shrieked and disappeared. I still remember it clearly. Before I even said the words Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, the thing had started to melt! I woke up from the dream. It was so real. Since then I have paid more attention to watching each and every thought of mine and to sending righteous thoughts to eliminate all evil spirits in other dimensions.
One night I dreamed of being in front of a school with a flood before it. The flood looked as though it would swallow the world. I saw houses, trees and people in the flood. Some people died while others were still struggling. The strange thing is that the flood would cease to exist when it was about to reach me. A man in a T-shirt was pulling one person after another out of the flood. A fellow practitioner and I were preparing a stretcher for rescued victims. Then a giant wave rolled a large van toward us. I was a bit scared. Then the van stopped before us. The man in the T-shirt directed us to rescue people in the van. I brought a young girl out from the van. She was soaking wet and bleeding from inside her mouth. I took her to a stretcher. A colleague and I carried the stretcher to the school building. She was saved. She smiled and nodded. I felt better knowing she was saved.
Then I turned around to realize that the man in the T-shirt had been Teacher. I burst into tears. I woke up and remembered the dream. It was just as though I had experienced it in person. It was branded in my memory. I knew Teacher was giving me a hint. The Fa-rectification is real, so is the process of weeding out. Teacher has been saving people from the flood, and so have we. We must assist Teacher in the Fa-rectification and return home with Teacher! It felt so real!
As a veteran Falun Gong practitioner, I have bumped into many problems. Teacher has not given up on me. When I melt into the Fa, I feel incomparably warm from the Fa. When I feel a gap between the Fa and me, I feel as though I were lost, as though I had not fulfilled my mission or trapped with the feeling of comfort. In such circumstances, Teacher would give me hints in various different ways. Sometimes I could hear Teacher's voice in my head urging me to eliminate my attachment to complacency and keep up with the progress of the Fa-rectification and my cultivation practice. I must not disgrace the title of Fa-rectification Dafa disciple in the Fa-rectification period. I must assist Teacher in the Fa-rectification and return to my true home with Teacher!
