(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Qin Zhengfang from Suining City, Sichuan Province was illegally sentenced to three years of imprisonment on March 10, 2010. At present, she is detained in Ward No. 6 of the Chengdu Women's Prison in Sichuan. Her family members were unreasonably denied visitation rights.
Ms. Qin was arrested at her home by Liao Yongyi, head of the National Security Division from Anju District, Suining City, police officer Liu Yong and others on the morning of May 31, 2009. She was then detained in Cell No. 45 of the Yongxing Detention Center. On January 12, 2010, Ms. Qin was tried in the Suining Court. She was persecuted during detention for more than seven months. Ms. Qin was so severely persecuted, both physically and mentally, that even her family members and colleagues were unable to recognize her. They are extremely worried about her.
On March 10, 2010, the Anju Court sentenced Ms. Qin to three years of imprisonment based on fabricated charges. Her prison sentence began on May 31, 2009, when she was arrested, and ends on May 30, 2012. Her family members were not notified when the court handed down the judgement. Furthermore, they were not given the verdict letter. In the end her family obtained the verdict through other means.
Ms. Qin was detained in Yongxing Detention Center from May 31, 2009 to March 31, 2010. She was transferred to Chengdu Women's Prison on April 1, 2010. She has not been allowed to have any form of contact with her family including any correspondence. Her family does not know what she needs in prison and no one has been allowed to visit her.
