(Clearwisdom.net) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 35 cities or counties in 17 provinces. In this report, 23 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 47 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Du Hongfang Critically Ill as a Result of Persecution
In 2008, Ms. Du Hongfang was sentenced to eight years in prison. She is being detained in the Jilin Provincial Women's Prison and brutally tortured because she will not give up her belief and refuses to be transformed. As a result, she is now critically ill. Her husband, Mr. Guo Yunqing, was sentenced to 14 years in prison. He is in Gongzhuling Prison. His sister went to visit him but was not allowed to see him.
2. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Cui Wei on a Hunger Strike to Protest Persecution
After being arrested on August 19, 2010, Ms. Cui Wei has been detained in the Nangou Detention Center. She has been on a hunger strike for 11 days to protest the persecution.
3. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Additional Information about the Death of Mr. Guo Jitang as a Result of Persecution
Mr. Guo Jitang is a Falun Gong practitioner in Fenghuang Town, the Xinzhou District, Wuhan City. On April 23, 2005, he was followed by the police for talking to people about Falun Gong. The police went to his home and intended to arrest him. He was beaten because he resisted arrest. As a result, he passed away that night. His family went to see his body and found blood and bruises covering his body.
4. [Shangyu, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Luo Jinxing and Ms. Xu Huini Arrested
Sometime during the first ten days of August 2010, Mr. Luo Jinxing (about 60 years old) and Ms. Xu Huini (about 50 years old) were taken away by the Shangyu 610 Office.
5. [Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Qingqing (about 26 Years Old) Arrested by the Police in the Haishu District
6. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Many Falun Gong Practitioners Persecuted
On August 27, 2010, the Kunming 610 Office brutally persecuted practitioners. It is currently known that the following practitioners were arrested and their homes were searched; Mr. Shen Zhuyou, Ms. Ming Lanzhen, Mr. Han Shulin, Ms. Zhang Shuilan, Ms. Sun Xianxin, and Ms. Li Yongbi.

8. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Gong Peijian, Ms. Feng Yanxin, and Other Practitioners Arrested
On August 26, 2010, the Mengyin County 610 Office persecuted Falun Gong practitioners again. Mr. Gong Peijian was arrested and the police took away his personal property, worth about 5000 yuan, from his home. In addition, Ms. Feng Yanxin was arrested and Mr. Wang Wenlai's home was ransacked and the police took away a DVD player, two recorders and about 1000 yuan in cash. Ms. Lei Weifeng, Ms. Sheng Yihua, Ms. Xu Yurong, and Ms. Ma Guirong (71 years old) were also arrested.
9. [Suning County, Hebei Province] Mr. Yang Xingwei and Two Other Practitioners Arrested
On the night of August 25, 2010, Zhao Zongyao from the Suning 610 Office as well as Jin Guohong and Zhang Ruiqiang from the Domestic Security Team of the Suning Police Department ordered officers from the Chengguan Police Station and the Wanli Police Station to arrest Falun Gong practitioners and ransack their homes,. Those affected included Mr. Yang Xingwei from Zhainan Village, Chengguan Town; Ms. Wang Ruiying from Zhaibei Village, Chengguan Town; and Ms. Xiu Ying from Luzhuang Village, Wanli Township.
On the night of August 25, 2010, Yin Jianxing from Shisu Township, Suning County, broke into the homes of Ms. Jingfen and Ms. Fenglan and took a Dafa calendar, TV satellites, etc.

10. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Mr. Chen Jixin Taken to the Xiaoguangcun Brainwashing Center
On August 29, 2010, Mr. Chen Jixin was taken to the Xiaoguangcun Brainwashing Center in Shahezi by Zhang Wenyou from the Changjianglu Police Station. Mr. Chen had been working in Hanlinyuan.
11. [Shahe City, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Jianjun Arrested
At about 10 p.m. on August 27, 2010, Mr. Liu Jianjun and his wife were taken away from their home by Hou Shouhong from the local Domestic Security Team. They are being detained in the Shahe Detention Center.

12. [Xinxiang City, Henan Province] Ms. Ye Huiming Arrested
On August 24, 2010, Mr. Xu Faling was followed and arrested because he talked to people about Falun Gong on a bus going from Xinxiang to Yuanyang. On August 25, 2010, his wife, Ms. Ye Huiming, who works at the Henan Judiciary School, was taken away from home by the police.
13. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Ji Runhui of the Chinese Fourth Railroad Bureau Arrested on August 22, 2010
14. [Macheng City, Hubei Province] Mr. Yu Xuelun Directly Sent to the Hubei Provincial Brainwashing Center by the Fanjiatai Prison
Mr. Yu Xuelun was persecuted in Fanjiatai Prison in Shayang City for three years. He was supposedly released on August 29, 2010. When his family went to pick him up, they discovered that he had been sent to the Hubei Brainwashing Center by Liu Desheng, the director of the Macheng 610 Office; Zheng Shengli; and two Domestic Security Agents.

At the beginning of August 2010, many Falun Dafa banners appeared in the rural area of Tongren. The police arrested many practitioners including Mr. Ma Jiangqiong, Mr. Yao Jinping, and Ms. Tian Yuanmei.
16. [Huanan County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wang Zhen Sentenced to Three Years in Prison on August 26, 2010
17. [Pucheng County, Fujian Province] Ms. Zhu Ziyu and Ms. Zhang Zaoli Brutally Persecuted
The Pucheng 610 Office dispatched plainclothes police officers to follow and arrest Ms. Zhu Ziyu, who went out to talk to people about Falun Gong on July 24, 2010. On July 27, 2010, they used the same tactics to arrest Ms. Zhang Zaoli.

On August 27, 2010, Mr. Zeng Jiageng and Ms. Zeng Libo from the Zhuhai District were taken to the local police office. Currently, the two practitioners have been transferred to the detention center on Nanzhou Road in the Haizhu District.

19. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Dejiang Sentenced to Five Years in Prison
20. [Xinji City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Hong and Ms. Zhang Yunqing Persecuted
On July 6, 2010, Fan Wen and other officers from the Tianjia Township 610 Office broke into the homes of Ms. Li Hong and Ms. Zhang Yunqing in Tianjiazhuang Township, Xinji City. They took away Falun Dafa books, arrested the two practitioners, and forced them to write a guarantee statement giving up practicing Falun Gong. The two practitioners did not write the statement, so they were sent to the Hebei Provincial Legal System Education Training Center (a brainwashing center). They were not allowed to talk or walk at will and were forced to watch programs defaming Falun Dafa and Master Li.

23. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Ms. Pi Xiurong and Other Practitioners Arrested
On the morning of August 26, 2010, officers from the Mengyin 610 Office, the Jiuzhai Township 610 Office, and the police station went to harass Mr. Yang Yudong, Mr. Li Guangchen, Mr. Xu Jie, Ms. Pi Xiurong, Ms. Xie, Ms. Ma Fumei, Ms. Song Aijun, and Ms. Wang Chunfang. 24. [Houma City, Shanxi Province] Many Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested
Since the start of 2010, the Houma police have arrested Mr. Li Huaiyu, Mr. Chen Kui, Mr. Zhang Guangjun, Mr. Wang Baoshan, and Mr. Wang Zhongyuan. On the night of July 25, 2010, the police arrested Mr. Lu Haixing. Now Mr. Lu is being detained in the Houma Detention Center.
25. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Cao Fengmei and Ms. Yang Xiuyan Arrested
On November 9, 2009, Ms. Cao Fengmei and Ms. Yang Xiuyan from Shuiquan Village, Wangjiatian Township, Songshan District, Chifeng City, were arrested by officers from the Wangjiadian Police Station for talking to people about Falun Gong at the Wangjiadian Market. Later on, they were sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp. They are in the Huhehaote Forced Labor Camp.
26. [Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Shi Xiaorong and Ms. Shi Meiying Arrested
On August 27, 2010, Ms. Shi Xiaorong and Ms. Shi Meiying from Yongkang, Jinhua, were arrested and their homes were ransacked. Their whereabouts are unknown.
27. [Zunhua City, Hebei Province] Mr. Sui Jinming Sent to Forced Labor Camp
At 10 a.m. on August 9, 2010, Mr. Sui Jinming from Ganzezhuang Village, Xingwangzhai Township, Zunhua City, was arrested by the Domestic Security Police. Later on, officers from the Domestic Security Team and the Shirengou Police Station ransacked his home. On August 22, 2010, Mr. Sui Jinming was sent to the Kaiping Forced Labor Camp for a two-year term.
28. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhang Jiezhen Sent to Forced Labor Camp
On July 26, 2010, Ms. Zhang Jiezhen was arrested in Nankou Town, Mei County, and detained in the Fuda Detention Center in Mei County. That night her home was ransacked. The police took away her computer, a printer, and a CD burner. On August 20, 2010, Ms. Zhang was taken to the Sanshui Women's Forced Labor Camp for a 21-month term.
29. [Renqiu City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yin Xiaoyan and Other Practitioners Arrested
At 10 p.m. on August 25, 2010, officers from the Renqiu Police Department, the Renqiu Domestic Security Team, the Xinhualu Police Station, and the Chuan Police Station arrested Ms. Yin Xiaoyan, Ms. Gao Jinghui, and Ms. Feng Sujuan. The three practitioners are being held in the Renqiu Detention Center.

31. [Jilin Province] Mr. Xin Wei and Mr. Zhang Wenfeng Strictly Monitored at the Jilin Prison
Mr. Xin Wei was detained in the Fifth Division of Jilin Prison, and Mr. Zhang Wenfeng in the Ninth Division. Around August 24 and 25, 2010, they were assigned to the Strictly Monitored Team because they did not wear the prison uniform at roll-call.
32. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Zongping and Mr. Pi Xingrong Arrested
On August 26, 2010, Mr. Li Zongping from Zhoujiagouzi Village, Mengyin Town, Mengyin County, was arrested by the 610 Office and the Jushan Police Station. The police also ransacked his home and took away a copy of Zhuan Falun.
On the same day, Mr. Pi Xingrong from Lianwangya Village, Jiuzhai Township, was arrested by officers from the Jiuzhai 610 Office and Police Station. His home was also ransacked.
33. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Zhou Guangli Arrested
Mr. Zhou Guangli, in his 50s and from Nanbu County, Nanchong City, became homeless and destitute several years ago. Recently, he was arrested as he used his identification card to buy an airplane ticket in Changsha City, Hunan Province. He is being held in the Nanbu Detention Center.
34. [Pingyuan County, Shandong Province] Police Arrest Ms. Li Guangju and Extort Money from Her Family
On August 27, 2010, Ms. Li Guangju, who works at the Yanye Company, was taken away from her home by police. The police also took away her computer, a USB drive, and an MP3 player. She was released after her husband had about 10,000 yuan extorted from him.
35. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Wen Jianzhong Arrested
Mr. Wen Jianzhong lives in Qifenchangtun, Hongguangnongchang Village, Baiyilage Township, Qiguo County, Songyuan City. At 8 p.m. on August 25, 2010, the Baiyilage police went to his home and took him away. Mr. Wen was detained in the Changlong Brainwashing Center.
36. [Renqiu City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Yindi Arrested
At 10 p.m. on August 26, 2010, many officers from the Renqiu Police Department and the Domestic Security Team surrounded the home of Ms. Liu Yindi in Huibokou Village, Renqiu. The police climbed over the yard wall and ransacked her home. Then they went to the Renqiu Kindergarten and arrested Ms. Liu Yindi. The next day Ms. Liu was let go after her family went to request her release.

At 11 p.m. on August 26, 2010, Ms. Li Guizhi and Mr. Xu Shaojing from Dongcai Village, Yanjiao Town, Sanhe City, were taken away from their homes.
38. [Sichuan Province] Mr. Yang Xianfu Taken Away from His Home by Police
On August 16, 2010, Mr. Yang Xianfu, in his 60s, was taken away from his home by the police.
39. [Yongqing County, Hebei Province] Ms. Sun Fengjian, Ms. Wang Sumei, and Ms. Sun Hongqiao Sent to the Langfang Brainwashing Center
At the beginning of August 2010, Ms. Sun Fengjian, Ms. Wang Sumei, and Ms. Sun Hongqiao were arrested by officers from the Yangshuiwu Police Station and their homes were also ransacked. The three practitioners were then detained in the Langfang Detention Center. On the morning of August 23, 2010, they were transferred to the Langfang Brainwashing Center.
