(Clearwisdom.net) I first became aware of Falun Dafa on July 20, 1999, the day the persecution began. On that day, the deputy head of a daily newspaper told me, "They were attempting to arrest Falun Dafa practitioners this morning but didn't succeed in arresting anyone. The date was originally set for October 1, but since there are so many people practicing qigong, the central government was afraid and advanced the date." As he finished talking, the words "the great Fa is boundless" and "Falun rotates constantly" suddenly appeared in my mind. I wondered how practicing qigong could have anything to do with politics, and I asked him why people were being arrested for practicing qigong. He said, "Because there are too many qigong practitioners," to which I replied, "Then they are just trumping-up charges." I already had some understanding about when the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) starts a large campaign against something, it has to be pretty extraordinary. After this conversation, whenever I heard anything about Falun Dafa, I took special notice.
In the spring of 2006, I was fortunate to meet a Falun Dafa practitioner who introduced me to the book Zhuan Falun. He told me to wash my hands before reading the book, and from his serious look, I understood that it was the right attitude to have. I finally saw the words "The great Fa is boundless" and "Falun rotates constantly" in the book.
When I read the phrase, "One would rather not obtain a righteous way in one thousand years than cultivate a wild fox practice for one day," in Zhuan Falun, I shuddered. I knew that this wasn't something that ordinary qigong masters would talk about. As I read through the entire book, I understood better what the Buddha Fa was, and realized that I had finally found the master I had been seeking for a long time, and finally found a way to return home.
Through studying the Fa, I came to understand many, many things. I was previously very self-confident, conceited, and not willing to mix with others in this human world. After I came into Dafa, however, I felt humble in front of other Dafa practitioners, because my moral values, temperament, and knowledge could only be considered good compared to everyday people. Master is compassionate and I can't find the words to express my respect for Master. I realized that only by believing in Master and the Fa can one assimilate into Dafa, and one's moral improvement be quickly achieved through Dafa cultivation. I would like to thank fellow practitioners for their selfless help on my cultivation path.
I still wondered at the time why the CCP was using such a vicious means to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners who follow the guidance of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in life. Dafa is a righteous Fa, and isn't that what China needs?
Master said,
"Why are Dafa disciples ruthlessly tortured by the evil? Because they persist in their righteous faith in Dafa, and because they are particles of Dafa. Why did Fa-rectification have to be done? Because the beings in the cosmos no longer met the standard." ("Dafa is Indestructible," from Essentials for Further Advancement II)
After reading this, I suddenly realized that the persecution of righteousness must be evil. The events caused by the CCP--such as the three years of devastating famine, the Cultural Revolution, the Tiananmen Square Massacre, corruption, organized crime, persecution of Falun Dafa, and the destruction of the ancient Chinese civilization and tradition--indicate that the Communist Party is most evil. The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party is like a sharp sword cutting through the evil red dragon and waking up the world's people to see the CCP's true evil nature.
I also realized that Master didn't give up on this long-lost disciple, and helped me head off disaster throughout the years so that I could cultivate in Dafa.
