(Clearwisdom.net) Xingguang (an alias), about 50, is honest and sincere. He was a Party secretary in a business unit in China. His wife is a former classmate of mine. She used to suffer from different illnesses. After she started practicing Falun Gong in 1994, her illnesses disappeared. Seeing how she recovered from her illnesses, Xingguang was very supportive of his wife practicing Falun Gong. When the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started to suppress Falun Gong in 1999, under political pressure, he only allowed his wife to do the Dafa exercises at home and forbade her from going to appeal.
Falun Gong practitioners clarified the truth to him time and again so that he would understand the truth about the persecution. After reading the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, he recognized the evil nature of the CCP. After that, he used his official authority to secretly protect Falun Gong practitioners and free practitioners who had been arrested by the unscrupulous officers from the 610 Office and public security. In addition, during lunch and individual conversations he advised Party officers to not persecute practitioners and asked them to treat practitioners kindly. He told them that Falun Gong practitioners were good people. Many Falun Gong practitioners were fined for appealing to the government, so he told administrators to return the money. He also pointed out to them that Falun Gong would be vindicated sooner or later, and, since they were about to retire, why should they make potential trouble for themselves? Under his protection, Falun Gong practitioners being persecuted in his unit had it a little easier.
Early last summer, when I saw my classmate and Xingguang, she told me that Xingguang had been practicing Falun Gong for over a year and had also withdrawn from the CCP. He admitted that prohibiting his wife from going out to validate Dafa was wrong. Now, the two of them study the Fa, do exercises, and send forth righteous thoughts together at home. They distribute truth-clarifying materials on their after-dinner walk.
I was very happy for them after listening to their story. I thought that if more Party officers were like him, then the persecution wouldn't be so severe or last so long. I hope more CCP officers awaken, break with the evil Party, and make up for their past mistakes to ensure for themselves a bright future.
