Thinking of Other People First
My husband and I own a truck. One time a relative found some business for us, where we could haul some goods and be paid by the amount that we could take on. In addition to taking our truck, we brought our two neighbors' vehicles. After a full day of work, what was left to haul was not enough to fill three truckloads. I let both of my neighbors fill up their trucks first, and then loaded my truck last. We could only fill our truck halfway, and ended up being paid less as a result. One of the workers said to me: "You are in charge of the work and brought in the business. Why don't you want to have a full load?" I answered, " I am a Falun Gong practitioner. My Teacher asks us to be selfless, consider other people first, to follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and to be good people." When the other workers heard my response, they were moved by our selflessness and the principles that we followed. They immediately started talking about how good Falun Dafa and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance were. They also wanted to learn more about Falun Dafa, so I gave everyone a set of truth-clarification cards, a DVD, and a booklet.
When my 80-year-old mother-in-law's birthday was approaching, my oldest brother-in-law was very worried. His finances were very tight and he could not afford a gift. I told him: "Don't worry, pay whatever you can cover and I will pay the rest. You don't have to return the money. There is no difference who pays for the gift." He was so touched that tears filled his eyes. When my cousin-in-law heard this, he said to my brother-in-law: "It's very difficult to live in a farming village now. Her family is not rich at all. Who would behave like her if it weren't for Falun Dafa? If everyone follows the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, all the families in our village would live in harmony." After hearing about this, many of my relatives told me about how much they admired Dafa
Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance Cleanses People's Minds
My daughter, who is in the 7th grade, lied to me so that I would give her an extra 20 yuan. After I discovered that she had lied, I asked her why she did it. I always use the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to educate her and she knows that she should not lie. She explained with tears in her eyes: "Students from the 10th grade extorted money from younger students in the school. If we refused to pay them, they would slap our faces. They even asked for 50 yuan from my classmates." My husband said, "This is a crime. Let's report this to the police." But I said, "Wait. It won't change their minds if we report them. I will go to the school tomorrow, find them and persuade them to be good people. This problem can easily be solved."
The next day I went to student A's home and met with her mother. She started to blame her daughter, who then explained that it was student B who persuaded her to do it. Then, A's mother asked B to come over. After talking with us for a while, B said: "I made a mistake. I have already spent all the money, but I will return it to you in the future." I then replied to her: "If I wanted my money back, I would simply call the police instead of coming here. I am a Falun Dafa practitioner. I don't want to see a bad record ruin your future. The purpose of my coming here is to tell you that, as human beings, you should be honest, compassionate, and tolerant. You should never do this again." The two kids then replied, "We promise that we will never do this again." Before I left, I told them: "Please remember, Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good! You will have bright futures if you can remember this."
Falun Dafa Dissolves Antagonism
Before I stared to cultivate in Falun Dafa, I was involved in a lawsuit. My brother-in-law, his friend, and my husband and I owned a company. My brother-in-law transported the goods and was also in charge of handling the raw materials. His friend was in charge of marketing, and my husband and I were in charge of providing a manufacturing plant and a car. Everything worked well and the profits were good.
Then one day, my brother-in-law and his friend removed all the materials and machines when we were not home. I asked them where they put everything, but they refused to answer. My husband said to them: "I will keep the 20,000 yuan that we made. It is about the same amount as the machines and the materials are worth. I will not do business with you guys any more." They did not respond. Shortly thereafter, they started a new company but could not make any money and had to dissolve the company. Because they still wanted a share of that 20,000 yuan, they took my husband to court. I was very angry about this and thought: "When we made money, they wanted to follow their own path without us. Now when they're losing money because of their failings, they sue us." They even called us at home and blamed us. On the third day of the court proceedings, I remembered that I was a practitioner. Therefore, I delivered some pf the money to them and also gave them a copy of Zhuan Falun. They were amazed. I told them, "If I was not a practitioner, I would never do such a thing. If you read Zhuan Falun, you will understand why." They were moved and withdrew the lawsuit. After that, they both started to learn Falun Dafa.
