(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Sun Wenqing from Yingkou City, Liaoning Province was recently sent to a forced labor camp for the second time. He had been detained in a labor camp for one year from July 2000 to July 2001. He was also persecuted at brainwashing centers twice.
Mr. Sun was arrested by the Rongxing Police Station, Dawa County, Panjin City on the north shore of Liaohe River on July 18, 2010, when he was telling people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Yao Zhigang, director of Rongxing Police Station, illegally sentenced Sun to a two-year imprisonment in a labor camp and sent him to the Weining Labor Camp in Benxi City.
Mr. Sun retired from the Yingkou Cigarette Factory. He used to suffer from frequent headaches and memory loss due to an accident at work which injured his brain. After he practiced Falun Gong, his headache had greatly improved. He also improved his character and became very considerate of others.
Mr. Sun went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong on July 8, 2000, after the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecuted Falun Gong. He meditated at Tienanmen Square and was arrested by plainclothes officers from the Tienanmen Square Police Station.
Mr. Sun was sent to Xuanwu District Detention Center in Beijing, and was later transferred to Batiandi Police Station in Yingkou City. Because he was a Falun Gong practitioner, police cadet Li and another policeman beat him for a whole night. Lu Bing, director of the Batiandi Police Station, and Cui Ming, office secretary, attempted to send Sun to a mental hospital. They locked Sun in a solitary room filled with garbage and feces. Sun asked a guard to bring him a broom and a shovel, and cleaned up the solitary room. The guard witnessed a Falun Gong practitioner's compassion and how good Falun Dafa is.
Mr. Sun was transferred to Yingkou Detention Center on July 15, 2000. When he was practicing the exercises one day, Zhang Heizi, deputy director of the detention center, ferociously grabbed his neck to choke him. Zhang also threw him to the ground a few times. Sun went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution.
Mr. Sun was sentenced to one year of imprisonment on July 20, 2000. He was sent to Yingkou Labor Camp. The labor camp forced Falun Gong practitioners to work overtime to make more profit. Mr. Sun and other practitioners had to work over 20 hours a day to make products for exporting.
Mr. Sun once wrote, "Zhen-Shan-Ren (Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance) is the sole criterion to discern good and bad people." His sentence was extended for 6 months by Zhang Shijun, head of the fifth brigade, Yang Chongguang, political commissar, and Chen Ying, chief of the Management Section. Wang Qingjun from the Management Section even denied the right of Mr. Sun's family to visit him.
The guards in the labor camp violently beat Mr. Sun many times. Liu Jianwei, leader of the second squad, slapped on Mr. Sun's face for over 30 minutes. Mr. Sun could not open his eyes for some time. His right cheek was swollen for over 10 days. Liu also kicked Mr. Sun's genitals with his leather shoes. Mr. Sun suffered from difficulty in urination even two years after that incident. Squad leader Liu Xiyou mentally tortured Sun every day. Liu threatened to beat him unless he followed Liu's orders.
Yingkou Labor Camp collaborated with the notorious Wang Shouyin from Yingkou Chinese Community Party School in an attempt to transform Falun Gong practitioners. Practitioners who refused to renounce their belief were violently beaten. Li Jie from the Education Section, Qin Bingwen, and principal Zhu Yi played videos that slandered Falun Gong. They claimed that practitioners would not be released in three years unless they were "transformed." Zheng Zhiqiang, head of the fifth brigade, often beat and verbally abused practitioner Yang Guoqian. Chief Tao shocked Yang with an electric baton.
Mr. Sun Wenqing and his wife left home when the CCP was holding its 16th National Congress in November 2002, hoping to evade from persecution at the brainwashing center. However, Feng Wenqi, political instructor at the Batiandi Police Station, and Lu Bing, Director of Batiandi Police Station, found Sun in the home of his father-in-law, and arrested him. At the brainwashing center, Li Wenqi, deputy secretary of the CCP's political and legislative committee in Yingkou, and head of Yingkou 610 office, shouted, "If you don't transform, we will sentence you to two years in prison."
The Yingkou 610 office arrested Sun Wenqing again at the end of 2003 and detained him at the brainwashing center. Mr. Sun told the officers, "I did nothing wrong to improve myself to be a better person. My wife is sick. However, the government doesn't offer any help. I practice Falun Gong to keep myself healthy and fit, but you don't allow me to practice it. How would I keep myself healthy? Teacher Li Hongzhi teaches me to improve myself and follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. You want me to renounce my belief in Falun Gong. Does that mean you want me to be a bad person?"
Over a dozen people were there, including Cai Fu, section chief of the CCP's Political and Legislative Committee in Yingkou City, Lin Qing from the Zhanqian Branch of Yingkou Police Station, Li, secretary of the CCP's Political and Legislative Committee in Zhanqian district, secretary Sun Hui, and director Wang from the Batiandi sub-district office, and Liu Wu, officer from the Batiandi Police Station. They knew they were in the wrong, so they released Mr. Sun. However, they sent Zhao Jingxiu, secretary of Sanlou sub-district office, and policeman Li Zhongtian to continue to monitor and harass Mr. Sun.
Mr. Sun's wife died in January 2008 because of the repeated persecution and threats.
When Mr. Sun was arrested on July 18, three other practitioners were also arrested. Two female practitioners were fined 2,000 yuan before being released. A male practitioner was sent to Weining Labor Camp in Benxi, however he was refused for admission due to health conditions. Policeman Yao Zhigang extorted 6,500 yuan from him before releasing him.
