(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 10 provinces. In this report, 9 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 9 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Guo Zhaoqing Severely Injured and Sentenced to 10 Years Imprisonment - Belated Information -
Police arrested Ms. Guo Zhaoqing on April 21, 2009 in Chenzhou City. Her captors severely beat and injured her. She suffers from numbness and paralyzed legs. Ms. Guo is unable to care for herself. Changde City Domestic Security Division agents took her back on April 29 and first kept her at the Linli Detention Center in Change City, then at the Changde First Detention Center. In the end, Ms. Guo was covertly sentenced to 10 years in prison and sent to the Changsha Women's Prison, Hunan Province in early December 2009.
2. [Jilin Province] Ms. Yin Jun Grossly Abused and Mistreated in the Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City
Ms. Yin Jun, 28 years old, is currently in the Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp, Division 2, in Changchun City. She has excruciatingly painful gallstones, but her captors still force her to do heavy labor and won't release her on medical parole.
3. [Fuzhou City, Fujian Province] Ms. Yu Jing Held at the Fuzhou First Detention Center
Ms. Yu Jing, nearly 70 years old, is a practitioner in the Gulou District. Gudong Police Station agents arrested her on the afternoon of August 2, 2010 and confiscated personal property. Police then kept her at the Fuzhou First Detention Center.
4. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Jiane Persecuted
As Ms. Xu Jiane stepped out of door at 8:00 a.m. on May 24, 2010 policeman Gu Zhiyong stopped her. The captors confiscated a picture of the founder of Falun Dafa, Dafa books and truth-clarification materials. Police then dragged her into a police van and headed toward the police department, saying they were taking Ms. Xu to a forced labor camp. When Ms. Xu's son returned home he heard about this and went to the police, asking for his mother's release. Police forced him to pay $20,000 yuan to secure his mother's release. Unfortunately, police still sent Ms. Xu to the Weifang Detention Center for a physical examination. Detention center officials refused to accept Ms. Xu because of her high blood pressure. She was kept four more days in an undisclosed location.
5. [Kangping County, Liaoning Province] Two Practitioners Arrested
Two women practitioners in Kangping County were walking in the Xiaokang Mine community at 9 p.m. on August 1, 2010. Xiaokang Mine Police Station head Han Zhiqiang and another police officer searched these practitioners' bags and arrested and took them to Xiaokang Mine police station. The women escaped but did not return home to avoid further persecution.

6. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Hou Cangshu Sent to Hebei Province Women's Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Hou Cangshu is a practitioner in her 50s who lives in Shijiazhuang City. Security personnel reported her to police as she distributed copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party in front of a supermarket. Officials from the Lianmeng Road Police Station in Shijiazhuang City arrested Ms. Hou. When police sent her home the following day, they confiscated personal belongings including a computer, printer, and books, and other items. Since then police occasionally harassed her. The confiscated materials have not yet been returned.
Lianmeng Road Police Station officials sent Ms. Hou to the Hebei Province Women's Forced Labor Camp on July 28, 2010, for a one-year term.

7. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Fude and His Wife Ms. Li Aichun Arrested
Mr. Liu Fude is a practitioner in Yaodian Village. When two police officers from Jitai Town Police Station, Shouguang City harassed Mr. Liu, they found a copy of the Minghui Weekly and made her accompany them to the Jitai Police Station.
Several police officers went to the Yangguang Paper Mill in Changle County the afternoon of July 14, 2010. They arrested Mr. Liu's wife, Ms. Li Aichun, about 45 or 46 years old. She had been in exile to avoid further persecution. The afternoon on the following day, police went to Ms. Li Aichun's rented apartment and confiscated a motorcycle she had recently bought.
Ms. Liu Defu has been sent to a labor camp three times for telling people about Falun Dafa and the persecution.
8. [Dianbai County, Guangdong Province] Police Arrested Ms. Gan Huiling on the Evening of August 6, 2010 and Currently Keep Her at the Maoming Brainwashing Center.
9. [Tianjin] Hexiwu Police Station Agents in the Wuqing District Grossly Abuse and Mistreat Practitioner Ms. Y Xuili - Belated Information -
When Ms. Yu Xiuli went shopping in Hexiwu one morning in April 2008, Hexiwu Police Station agents dragged her into a police van. Two police officers slapped her in the face and kicked her. In the evening she was transferred to the Wuqing Detention Center where she was abused and mistreated for 10 days and forced to do intensive labor work.
10. [Mianyang City, Sihuan Province] Ms. Guo Yuqiong Persecuted by Agents from the Yongxing Township 610 Office and Local Police
Plainclothes police from the Gaoxin District broke into Ms. Guo's home on August 2, 2010 to arrest her. Ms. Guo did not yield. Several police officers beat and kicked her in front of her family and forcibly took her away.
Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhou Hongyun--a retiree--was also arrested and sent to a brainwashing center.
11. [Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Lu Jinyou Arrested
Mr. Lu Jinyou is a practitioner in Han Village, Zhuozhou City. Domestic Security Division police officer Yang Yugang and others went to Mr. Lu's home on August 7, 2010 and arrested him.
12. [Heilongjiang Province] Jiagedaqi Middle School Teacher Ms. Li Fengxia Arrested
Ms. Li Fengxia is 54 years old. Because her brother was persecuted, she too became subject to police harassment. Police are now monitoring her.
Mr. Li Fengfei, Ms. Li Fengxia's younger brother, is a 50-year-old Falun Gong practitioner living in Elunchun City, Inner Mongolia. Finding Mr. Li's name on a truth-clarification pamphlet, Domestic Security Division officials arrested him on April 29, 2010. Elunchun Court held a hearing on August 2. Ms. Li Fengxia hired an attorney for him. The lawyer, citing the Chinese legal codes, proclaimed Mr. Li's innocence in court and requested his immediate release. The judge asked the prosecutor from the Procuratorial Office if he had any comments, and he replied "no." Court officials did not release Mr. Li Fengfei but instead retaliated by persecuting his sister Ms. Li Fengxia.
13. [Weining County, Guizhou Province] Lushan Town Police Station Officials Harassing Practitioners
When Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Shunzhi told people about the persecution on May 22, 2010, someone reported her to the police. Agents from Lushan Town Police Station in Weining County went to her home to search. They confiscated Ms. Wang's husband's ID and truth-clarification CDs. The couple decided to stay away from home for a time, to avoid further persecution.

14. [Zhangye City, Gansu Province] Mr. Li Tianxiao Facing Illegal Sentencing
Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Tianxiao lives in the Ganzhou District, Zhangye City. Because he clarified the truth to other people, police ransacked his home and attempted to use the confiscated truth-clarification material as an excuse to arrest him. He was not at home.
As soon as Mr. Li found out what happened, he did not return home. Police found him in his parents-in-law's place on May 14, 2010 and arrested him--still sleeping in bed. Mr. Li is currently at the Xindun Detention Center.

15. [Xinji City, Hebei Province] Looking for Mr. Liu Cangchong - Belated Information -
Mr. Liu Cangchong is a Falun Gong practitioner in Miaoying Village, Qianying Town, Xinji City. His whereabouts have been unknown since early 2000. His family went to local government many times but could not get any information. His mother died in 2006 in sadness.
Mr. Liu went to Beijing many times to appeal. Following a late 1999 Beijing appeal he was detained for more than one month in the former Xinji Cotton and Ramie Company and then sent to the Xinji Detention Center for further persecution. Mr. Liu went to Beijing again in early 2000 to appeal. His whereabouts have been unknown since.
