On August 9, 1996, a friend introduced me to Falun Gong, and I bought a copy of Zhuan Falun, the main teachings of Falun Gong. I clearly remember staying up the whole night reading this precious book. The first thing I understood clearly was that it encourages us to not be attached to self-interest in a conflict as opposed to fighting for it. In today's society, so many people look for ways to steal or trick others out of their money, so who would think of wanting to let go of self-interest?! What I read was so truly profound, I made up my mind to learn this practice immediately. The next morning, I went to a Falun Gong exercise center, where the assistant invited me to listen to Teacher Li Hongzhi's nine-day Fa-lecture videotapes at a practitioner's home.
At that time I was worried about attending the nine-day lectures as my body had so many health problems, such as cerebral vascular migraine and ulcerative colitis. Yet, in Zhuan Falun, it says that Falun Gong doesn't heal illness. I had passed out at a work conference held by my company and no matter what I tried I couldn't find a cure.
So I went to the practitioner's home, and seeing that the practitioners there seemed all quite well, I thought to myself, "Don't think too much about it. Just listen to the words of Teacher Li." At 9 a.m., they started playing the videotape, and around one hour later I began to have reactions. My headache gradually became worse, and I also had to use toilet frequently. I was afraid that I would affect others, so I chose to stand in a corner of the living room. As a result, I didn't hear anything that Teacher Li said. After the lecture finished, I quickly went home and lay in bed for the rest of the day. However, fellow practitioners said to me, "You have a great predestined relationship, and Teacher has helped you clean up your body so quickly, so you should still come to the lectures everyday."
After one week when the lectures had finished, a miracle happened to me. My belly shrank, my stomachache went away, and I had normal bowel movements. The diseases that had been with me for more than 20 years disappeared all at once. I was in awe at how amazing Falun Gong was!
Soon after, I began to doubt this phenomenon and wondered why, in only a few days, all my diseases were healed? In the past, I would spend three thousand yuan for Chinese medication, and whenever there was a slight improvement, I would eat a much loved melon, which would cause my stomach problems to return. So this time, to test if my illnesses had really gone, I would eat half of the melon. After a while, I was still fine, so I ate the second half, and I was still fine. It looked like I was truly healed, so I kept eating until I had eaten ten melons--and I was totally fine. Only then did I truly believe that my illnesses were healed!
When I began to live by the principles Truth-Compassion-Forbearance, all my illnesses were healed. I have truly come to feel the state of being illness-free. Falun Gong is truly amazing!
In July 1999, when Jiang Zemin's regime began to persecute Falun Gong, I was arrested and detained at the detention center and then sent to a forced labor camp. In 2000, in the camp, I saw many miraculous things. Ms. Yang Shirong was a farmer who used to have two humps on her back. After she took up the practice of Falun Gong, both of them disappeared. When I asked her if she had ever seen Teacher in person, she said that she hadn't. She had never seen Teacher in person and still both of her humps disappeared! Even CCP cadres in charge of her local township government said to her, "You should go to Beijing to tell people how good this practice is!"
Another practitioner in the camp was young and pretty, and you could never have imagined that she used to be paralyzed and incontinent.
One of the other inmates told me that she was a con artist. After I clarified the truth to her about the sacredness of Dafa, she asked me for a copy of Teacher's Hong Yin. She began to recite it in secret, and she also measured herself against the standards of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance. As a result, she gained virtue and a police officer told her to sign the paperwork for her release. She was shaken and realized that Falun Dafa is truly wonderful!
The inmate next to me was an accountant. Because of financial problems, her boss sued her. After she learned the truth of Falun Gong, miracles happened and her boss withdrew his suit against her and brought her back to his company.
These kinds of things have been spread among prisoners who have had the good fortune to hear of Falun Gong. Teacher said in Turning the Wheel Towards the Human World: "I don't hold the past faults of any sentient being against him, and that I look only at a sentient being's attitude toward Dafa during the Fa-rectification." I have truly come to feel Teacher's compassion.
During my 13 years of cultivation, I have experienced many such miraculous events. Words cannot begin to express my gratitude and respect towards Teacher Li.
I hope all sentient beings will remember the goodness of Dafa. I hope all Chinese people can see through the Chinese communist regime's lies and propaganda about Falun Gong. If you can do that, you will see the evil nature of the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) and turn your back on the CCP by quitting your memberships. By this understanding alone, you will have chosen a good future for you and your family members.
