(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Li Deyue, born in 1972, is from Minhou County, Fujian province. He started to practice Falun Gong in September 2001. In March 2010, Mr. Le clarified the facts about Falun Gong to some students and was subsequently reported to the police. Mr. Li was arrested on March 23, 2010 by police officers from the Xiadu Police Station of Cangshan District, Fuzhou City. The next day, Mr. Li's bookstore was ransacked by the police, and he was taken to the Second Detention Center of Fuzhou City, where he has been held ever since. So far, the center will not allow Mr. Li's family members to visit him.
This series of events occurred just one year after he was released from prison. Mr. Li was previously arrested in May 2006 and sentenced to two and a half years in prison, where he was brutally tortured. He was arrested for clarifying the facts about Falun Gong on a ferry in Pingtan County, Fujian Province.
During his previous imprisonment, Mr. Li Deyue was brutally tortured because he kept talking about the facts about Falun Gong and would not follow the prison officials' demands to renounce the practice. Mr. Li was put in handcuffs and shackles, not allowed to sleep or take a bath, cruelly beaten to the point of incontinence, exposed to the scorching sun in the summer after having been beaten, locked in a small dark room, forced to watch videos which slandered Falun Gong, and other forms of torture.
