(Clearwisdom.net) This week I attended a birthday party for my mother, who is a fellow practitioner. I went with the intention of helping my friends and relatives further understand the truth about Falun Gong. My mother's siblings and my cousins all came, and it was very crowded and merry.
My uncle and his wife had just returned from a vacation in Taiwan. I had the opportunity to talk with them and asked what interesting things they saw in Taiwan and whether they managed to see Falun Gong practitioners there. My aunt, a chatty person, replied, "Yes, we did see Falun Gong practitioners. There were many of them all over Taiwan. They were of all ages, young and old. Some were only in their teens or early 20s. They were meditating while peaceful music played. One of them told me more about Falun Gong." My aunt was very delighted and excited about it.
Hearing what my aunt had said, my cousin continued, saying, "Yes, now it is only China that has banned Falun Gong. People in all other countries are free to practice." My aunt added, "That is true. Only in China is it banned."
In the past, my aunt and her husband did not hold this view. My mother had talked to them about Falun Gong more than once, but they were defensive and would find all kinds of excuses to avoid the issue. Now their perception had totally changed. My mother offered them informational materials and cards with Falun Gong phrases on them, and they were willing to accept everything. My aunt even asked for more Falun Gong cards, which she wanted to give to the rest of her family members. She said, "Are there more? When I go home, if I want to give one to each of them, these won't be enough." This was how the wife of my younger uncle, who used to avoid us at all cost when we talked about Falun Gong, stepped up and asked for Falun Gong information cards. Because we did not have very many cards with us, my mother made a trip home to get more for them.
Everyone enjoyed themselves very much at the party. But what made me most happy was that more sentient beings had understood the truth about Falun Gong and accepted the facts, choosing a wonderful future for themselves.
