(Clearwisdom.net) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 22 cities or counties in 11 provinces. In this report, 10 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 73 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Mr. Jiang Feng Sent to Forced Labor Camp
Mr. Jiang Feng was arrested at the Shanghai Airport as he was about to leave to visit his family and relatives in the USA. Recently, he was sentenced to 18 months in a forced labor camp.
2. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Yujie Brutally Tortured in Hewan Forced Labor Camp in Wuhan City
It was learned recently that Ms. Wang Yujie was brutally tortured in Hewan Forced Labor Camp in Wuhan City. She was only allowed to sleep between 2 and 5 a.m. and was then forced to stand all day.
On March 11, 2010, Ms. Wang, who is from Xiantao, Hubei Province, was reported to the police and arrested for posting Falun Gong materials on Hanzheng Street in Hankou City, Hubei Province. Officers from the Manchunjie Police Station in the Jianghan District took her to the Wuhan First Detention Center and detained her for 15 days. Later on, she was transferred to Erdaopeng Brainwashing Center in the Jianghan District by the Jianghan 610 Office. She was sentenced to one year of forced labor is now in Hewan Forced Labor Camp.
3. [Jianyang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Zhang Guodong Passed Away as a Result of Persecution
Mr. Zhang Guodong passed away at the age of 74 on December 11, 2009, as a result of long-term persecution.
After July 20, 1999, Mr. Zhang was repeatedly persecuted, detained, and had money extorted from him by officers from the Chengxi Police Station in the Xindu District.
In February 2005, he was reported to the police for posting Falun Gong materials. He was arrested by the Chengxi Police Station and his son's home was ransacked. After he was detained for about 20 hours, his son hired someone to take him back to his hometown of Jiangyang.
After Mr. Zhang went back to Jianyang, Ziyang and Jianyang City officials often went to his home to harass and threaten him to make him stop practicing Falun Gong. He was monitored and lived under intense pressure for a long time.
4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Qi Jing Persecuted in a Brainwashing Center
On May 28, 2010, Mr. Qi Jing was taken to a brainwashing center by Yang Guangxin from the Nanguan District 610 Office, officers from the Ziqiang Police Station, and personnel from the Ziqiang Neighborhood Committee.

On May 22, 2010, Mr. An Qihui, 55; Ms. Niu Yuhua, 49; and Ms. Li Jianmei, 47, from Baizhuang Village, Huairou Town, the Huairou District, Beijing, were arrested by officers from the Huairou Domestic Security Team and the Huirou Town Police Station.
7. [Changle County, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Wen and His Wife, Luo Yuxia, Arrested
On May 28, 2010, Mr. Li Wen and his wife, Luo Yuxia, from Gaojia Village, Wutu Town, Changle County, were taken into custody from the apartment they rent in Xiaobeizhuang, Yingqiu Town. The next day, Mr. Li was transferred to the Changle Detention Center.

On May 30, 2010, Mr. Hu Zhenchun was arrested on his way home. He is being detained in the Gaobeidian Detention Center.
10. [Inner Mongolia] Information about the Persecution of Ms. Sun Lifeng in Dayangshu, Elunchunqi
Ms. Sun Lifeng from Dayangshu Town, Elunchunqi, Inner Mongolia, was sentenced to three years of forced labor by the Dayangshu Police Department because she would not give up practicing Falun Gong. On the way to the forced labor camp, she managed to escape and went to Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province.
In April 2008, Ms. Sun talked to her students about Falun Gong. She was reported and sentenced to 18 months of forced labor. In Qianjin Forced Labor Camp in Harbin, her term was extended for about a month because she did not cooperate with the guards.

11. [Anqiu City, Shandong Province] Many Practitioners Taken to a Brainwashing Center
On around May 25, 2010, Ms. Tian Ruixia and her husband, along with about ten other practitioners, were arrested by officers from the 610 Office, the Domestic Security Team, and the police department of Anqiu City. They are being detained in Danshan Brainwashing Center.

At 4 p.m. on May 21, 2010, Ms. Mao Cailing was arrested and her home ransacked. She is now in the detention center of the Jinhua Police Department.
14. [Linghai City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wei Xiuying Brutally Persecuted in Prison
When Ms. Wei Xiuying from Jincheng, Linghai City, was detained in Linghai Detention Center and brutally tortured. The guards poured hot water on her head and stomped on her chest. As a result, she lost her hearing, her left leg swelled severely, and she had heart failure and was in critical condition. Later on, she was sentenced to seven years in prison and sent to the Elderly and Disabled Team in Shenyang Women's Prison. Now she needs crutches to walk and cannot take care of herself. Her family has asked for her release for medical treatment, but the prison will not agree.

15. [Sanhe City, Hebei Province] Ms. Ding Hairong Taken Away from Her Home
On June 1, 2010, the Sanhe police went to the home of Ms. Ding Hairong in Xiaotianzhuang, Zhaohegou Township, Sanhe City, and took her to Langfang. Her whereabouts is unknown.

17. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Yuhua Sentenced to One Year in a Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Wu Shuqin and Ms. Zhang Yuhua from the Jinzhou District in Dalian City were arrested on April 23, 2010. On May 31, Ms. Zhang was sentenced to one year of forced labor and sent to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.
18. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Song Lihui Taken to a Brainwashing Center
On May 29, 2010, Mr. Song Lihui from Qijia Town, the Shuangyang District, Changchun City, was taken to Xinglongshan Brainwashing Center in Changchun City by officer Suo Guicheng from the Qijia Town Police Station and Li Guicheng from the Comprehensive Administration Office.
19. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Ren Baowen Taken to Fushun Brainwashing Center
Mr. Ren Baowen works at the Liaohe Oil Field in Panjin City. On June 1, 2010, while he was working, he was picked up and taken to the Fushun Brainwashing Center by Liu Bing from the Taishan Police Station and Xing Jun and Shao Ming from his company.
On June 2, 2010, Mr. Ren's wife, sister, and friends went to the brainwashing center to visit him. They were not allowed them to see Mr. Ren, and six or seven plainclothes guards came out of the center and brutally beat his relatives and friends.
20. [Lunan County, Shandong Province] Five Practitioners Taken to a Brainwashing Center
On May 21, 2010, three practitioners were arrested by officers from the Xiangdi Police Station and taken to Lunan Detention Center. They are Mr. Ren Zenggui, who is a retired from the county hospital; Mr. Liu Yugui, who lives at the family housing of the hygiene school; and Ms. Wei Chaohua. The next day, Ma Zongtao and others from the Lunan 610 Office, arrested Ms. Wang Zhenhua, an employee of the Kaiyuan Distribution Center, and Ms. Lu Shimei, a teacher at the Second Experimental School, and took them to the Lunan Detention Center.
On May 26, 2010, five practitioners were taken to Yinli Brainwashing Center. Their families were not allowed to visit them.
21. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Mr. Bi Changchun Arrested
On the night of May 31, 2010, the chief of the Mafang Township Police Station in Mancheng County and two policemen took Mr. Bi Changchun from his home in Caozhuang Village to the police station. He is being detained in Xushui Detention Center. His wife is being detained in Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labor Camp.

On May 27, 2010, over 20 officers from the Criminal Police Team of the Duyun Police Department, the 610 Office, and the Domestic Security Team broke into the home of Ms. Liang Rongqi. She was arrested and her home ransacked. The police took a printer, Falun Gong materials, cash, and bankbooks. Ms. Liang is being detained in Qiannanzhou Detention Center in Guizhou Province.

At 2 p.m. on June 1, 2010, Ms. Zhang Minghong, 46, was arrested by officers from the Caotang Police Station in the Qingyang District, Chengdu City, while she was talking to people about Falun Gong near Huanhuaxi.

27. [Siping City, Jilin Province] Mr. Xu Hongwei Sustains Hearing Loss after Being Beaten in Shiling Prison
At the end of April 2010, guards from the Tenth Division of Shiling Prison in Siping City beat Mr. Xu Hongwei. As a result, he lost his hearing. He felt dizzy and nauseous and had a headache. Guard Wu Tie did not allow him to see a doctor and canceled his family's visit.

29. [Chongqing City] Ms. Yang Birong's Home Ransacked
On June 1, 2010, six officers from the Shapingba Police Department and the Shijingpo Police Station, ransacked the home of Ms. Yang Birong, who is about 80 years old. They took Dafa books and Falun Gong materials. The next day, the police went to harass her again.
