Signing to support Falun Gong
What she saw were Falun Gong practitioners holding an activity to expose the brutal persecution of Falun Gong launched by the Chinese government. Many people came to the booth to learn more about Falun Gong. When they learned about the persecution, they were shocked.
Ms. Leupold signed the petition. "Cultivators are peaceful," she said, "They should not be persecuted anywhere." She wanted to do something to help stop the persecution.
Some Chinese tourists also passed by the booth. They took informational materials, talked to practitioners, and took photos. Some of them quit the Communist Party after talking with practitioners.
