(Clearwisdom.net) Editors' note: In both Western and Chinese cultures, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. The universe will reward acts that are in harmony with this principle, while doing things such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely "following orders," the universal law requires that they, too, be held responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.
The following are three instances of karmic retribution experienced by officials who engaged in persecuting Falun Gong.
Former Police Station Director of Fuzhou University, Li Rongsheng
Li Rongsheng followed the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) policy to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. A practitioner was arrested in 2003 for distributing Falun Gong flyers on the Fuzhou University campus. This practitioner had been Li Rongsheng's elementary school classmate. Nonetheless, Li actively collected so-called evidence to convict this practitioner. This practitioner was later sentenced to three years in prison.
In 2009, Li Rongsheng died from pharyngeal cancer at the age of 46.
Village Cadres Zhou Zaisheng and Liu Guangsheng from Yanjiao Township, Sanhe City
Zhou Zaisheng was the Chinese Communist Party committee secretary for Zhugedian Village, Yanjiao Township, Sanhe City, Hebei Province. Several years ago, when Zhou was working at the Gaolou Police Station, he often beat Falun Gong practitioners. In 2004, he again became the CCP committee secretary at Zhugedian Village. During the two years at this post, Zhou collaborated with the local 610 Office and police department. During this time, four practitioners were sent to detention centers, brainwashing centers, and forced labor camps.
Practitioners tried to tell Zhou the facts about Falun Gong on many occasions and advised him not to participate in the persecution, but he didn't listen or believe them, and continued participating. Zhou Zaisheng died of liver cancer in November 2006 at the age of 54.
Liu Guangsheng was the public security director of Zhugedian Village, Yanjiao Township, Sanhe City, Hebei Province. While at the post, he followed the CCP's orders and participated in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. He fabricated lies about Falun Gong and verbally abused practitioners.
In August 2001, practitioners hung up several hundred posters on telephone poles around the villages. The posters contained the message "Falun Dafa is Good," "Truth-Compassion-Tolerance is Good," and "Clear My Teacher's Name." Practitioners also distributed informational materials that dispelled the lies about Falun Gong. Liu Guangsehng however directed villagers Wang and Jia to remove the posters from the walls. The practitioners asked them kindly not to do so because it would be bad for them, but they refused to listen. One of them even said, "I work for whomever pays me."
In 2004, Liu Guangsheng suddenly fell to the ground and died while quarreling with another person. He was just over fifty years old and had no prior illness.
As a person living in this world, fame and money are just like smoke and clouds passing by. For a little self interest, a person can lose a lot.
