(Clearwisdom.net) I am a Dafa practitioner from a rural area in China, and I started to cultivate Falun Dafa in July 1998. However, I was taken to a brainwashing center on July 20, 1999, when the then leader of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP}, Jiang Zemin, began this illegal persecution I was forced to temporarily give up my belief in Falun Dafa. I fell into an confused state of mind and I wrote the three statements, saying I would no longer practice Falun Gong. I was then released and went home. The authorities sent spies to secretly monitor me everyday, so, at that time, I really gave up my cultivation in Falun Gong. In 2004, a fellow practitioner found me again and encouraged me to resume my cultivation. I wrote a "Solemn Declaration" and had it posted on the Clearwisdom website to declare my intention to resume practicing.
1. With Strong Righteous Thoughts and Looking Inward, I Can Resolve All Tribulations
On July 9, 2008, just before the Olympics, my daughter was illegally arrested, and, as a result, I couldn't eat or sleep. A month later I realized I hadn't studied the Fa or done the exercises. I could not continue my cultivation in Dafa. Whenever my relatives and friends saw me, they all blamed me for my daughters' incarceration. I was more than willing to endure the pain for my daughter's return. I wanted to trade places with her so that she could be released. Then I heard a voice in my ears, saying, "You are trying to solve the problem with an ordinary person's mentality." I knew that was a hint from Master Li. I immediately cheered up and realized I couldn't destroy myself like that, so I quickly let go of the attachment to my emotions and then I understood this tribulation.
On July 28, three police officers (two male and one female) found me and said that they wanted to talk to me. When we arrived at my home, I immediately began to send forth righteous thoughts and I asked Master to strengthen my righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil demons and factors behind the police. They didn't say anything and left my home quickly.
Master taught us in the lecture Touring North America to Teach the Fa:
"If you send forth righteous thoughts at the head of the evil from nearby it, the evil won't keep replenishing and protecting it fast enough, and that creature will take his last breath."
One of my relatives worked at the notoriously evil 610 Office. He revealed to me that they originally planned to arrest me before New Year's eve, but later on they changed their plans and were going to arrest me after the New Year instead. Around 3:30 p.m. on May 5, 2009, four officers from the domestic security brigade and the police station drove up to my home in two police wagons. As soon as I saw them I immediately sent forth righteous thoughts and asked Master to strengthen me. They asked me if I still insisted on practicing Falun Gong, and I replied, "Why not? What's wrong with practicing Falun Gong?" As soon as I spoke, I felt that my mind wasn't righteous enough to be able to save them. I found that I had the attachment of fighting back, a heart of hatred, the attachment of being competitive, showing off, and the attachment of wanting to be a hero in this encounter. All these attachments should be eliminated. I remembered that I saw an article in the Minghui Weekly written by a fellow practitioner. He said, "If we have already let go of the attachment to life and death, then why not clarify the facts of Falun Dafa to them?"
At that moment, I didn't have the attachment of fear, so I felt quite calm. When they said I was against the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), I replied, "I am not against the CCP. I am against the evil persecution of Falun Gong. Let's take an example. Look at this photo of the national park in Zhangbu, Pingtang County, Guizhou Province. There is a large slab of stone 270 million years old with crack that formed 500 years ago. On it there are six neatly brush-written Chinese characters that say, 'The Chinese Communist Party Collapses.' Geology experts and academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences have already conducted scientific investigations on it. Experts believe that the arrangement of the characters on the 'stone' may be explained from a geological perspective in that there are no traces of it being man made.
"Further along the path at this scenic spot, you will find a big tree rotting from the inside out. It has been hollowed out by termites. The tree is a symbol of the Chinese Communist Party, and the termites represent all the corrupt CCP officials. The CCP is defeating itself, and yet it accuses others of being against it. The CCP has cruelly persecuted Falun Gong for more than ten years. Buddhas, gods, Daos, and human beings are all understandably angry. If human beings don't take steps to stop it, Heaven will! Please withdraw from the evil CCP and its affiliated organizations in order to save yourselves."
For two hours they ransacked my house looking for evidence to charge me with, but they didn't find anything. In my rooms at that time were two copies of Minghui Weekly, two copies of Zhuan Falun, an MP3 player, and three hundred yuan in paper currency that had truth-clarification messages printed on them. The police officers simply did not see them. I understood that Master was compassionately taking care of me all that time.
Finally they tried to force me to go to the police station with them. I refused firmly, and I explained to them all the methods that the evil CCP has utilized to deceive people. The so-called Tiananmen Square Self-Immolation was the biggest deception, I told them, and also mentioned how the CCP had been deceiving people non stop for the past 60 years. When they realized I wouldn't go anywhere with them and that they couldn't do anything to me, they had to leave. In the lecture "Fa Teaching at the 2009 Washington DC International Fa Conference," Master said,
"At times when your human attachments are severe and there is interference from evil and bad factors, however, it will instead be the case that when you get stronger it becomes weaker, and when you get weaker it becomes stronger."
2. Please Help Our Fellow Practitioners Who Have Fallen Behind
The day after a fellow practitioner was released from prison, I took her a copy of Zhuan Falun and other Fa lectures. I also talked with her about how to improve and cultivate more diligently. When I visited her the second time, I told her, "Master asks us to denounce publicly anything that we have written under duress that is not in accordance with Falun Dafa teachings or that is harmful to Dafa and Dafa disciples. By doing that, a lot of your karma can be eliminated."
Several days later when I visited her again and I asked her whether she had written a solemn declaration, she gave me a negative answer. Several days passed, and I visited her again and still she said no. When I asked her for the third time, she said that she only went to school for a short period of time and she did not know how to write. I said, "You should have told me earlier. I can help you write it." I asked her to send the statement to the Minghui/Clearwisdom website as soon as possible. Yet she still hadn't sent it even when I had visited her another three times. When I went to her place the fourth time, she told me she had broken her right wrist when she fell down. She admitted that she had not been clear in her mind and was taken advantage by the evil old forces. She became clear only after she encountered the tribulation. Finally, I sent the statement to Minghu for her. Now her wrist has recovered and she is doing the three things. Her son was sick and she worried about him so much that she could not sleep. I accompanied them to the doctors, and she was moved to tears several times by my helping her. I said, "Master told us to cherish the predestined relationship between fellow practitioners."
3.Our Family Environment Is Part of Our Cultivation
Today, the family environments of some practitioners are still so stressful that other practitioners dare not visit their homes. They haven't been able to put right their family situations, and some of their family members are still against Falun Gong. If we don't change this, then who will pass on the great cultivation stories of Falun Dafa to our future generations? Leading our family members to do well is also one of our solemn responsibilities.
My husband is hot-tempered, while I am introverted. Before I began to practice Falun Gong, he would insult me and beat me. We always quarreled over trifles. After I began to cultivate, the situation between us was very tense. He always made troubles for me. I knew that all these were good chances to eliminate my karma and to improve my heart nature, my xinxing. Whenever I had a conflict with him, I always looked inward to see what I had not let go of yet. When Master saw that I had a sincere heart to cultivate myself well, he resolved those tribulations for me. Now we seldom have conflicts.
I often say to him, "You should learn more from those truth-clarification materials we print. This is a historical time, where gods and human beings co-exist. If you don't read these books now, your life will be wasted." In the first half of this year he has read the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and Disintegration of the Party Culture. He even began to read the Fa lectures. He has gained a lot of knowledge from reading, and he now has a high opinion of Falun Gong. When police officers came to the house, he tried his best to clarify the facts of Falun Gong to them. When the police found that even everyday people also knew the truth about Falun Gong, they began to be afraid. When a Dafa disciple cultivates himself or herself well and acts righteously, those in the vicinity also behave themselves well, and thus the practitioner's cultivation environment also improves.
