(Clearwisdom.net) On May 10, 2010, the Council of the Town of Saint-Lin-Laurentides, Canada, passed a resolution proclaiming May 2010 as Falun Dafa Month in honor of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance. Below is an English translation of the resolution.

At the monthly Town Meeting held on Monday, May 10th at the Town Hall in Saint-Lin-Laurentides in the Conference Hall, a resolution was passed, whereby the following councilors were present:
Mr. André Auger, Mayor
Mr. Luc Cyr, councilor, District # 1
Mr. Mathieu Maisonneuve, councilor, District # 2
Mr. André Malouin, councilor, District # 3
Mr. Patrick Massé, councilor, District # 4
Mr. Jean-Luc Arène, councilor, District # 5
Mr. Pierre Lortie councilor, District # 6
All forming a quorum under the chairmanship of the Mayor.
Mr. Richard Dufort, Director General and Town Clerk, was also present.
278-05-10 PROCLAMATION for the Month of May / We Proclaim the Month of May,
"Falun Dafa Month" in honor of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance

Seconded by: Mr. Patrick Massé and Passed unanimously
Whereas: Falun Dafa practitioners follow the principles of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance in their daily lives, endeavoring to become better people in all situations and under all conditions;
Whereas: Falun Dafa teaches cultivation of body and mind, and has inspired millions of people to better themselves morally, since its introduction to the public in 1992, by Mr. Li Hongzhi;
Whereas: transcending racial and cultural barriers, Falun Dafa is practiced by people of all ages, all walks of life and religious beliefs;
Whereas: Falun Dafa is unjustly persecuted in China and its practitioners try to peacefully establish their right to freedom of conscience and belief;
Whereas: Falun Dafa practitioners in the communities across Canada celebrate the month of Falun Dafa with parades and other public activities.
Accordingly it is proposed by Councilor Mr. Jean-Luc Arène and seconded by Councilor Mr. Patrick Massé, That hereby, the Town of Saint-Lin-Laurentides proclaim the month of May 2010 as "Falun Dafa Month" in honor of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance.
The Mayor requested the vote. Motion carried unanimously.
