(Clearwisdom.net) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 11 provinces. In this report, 15 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 30 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Ziyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Shufen Forcibly Taken to Brainwashing Center
Ms. Liu Shufen from Ziyang City is 68 years old. On April 26, 2010, she was arrested by three plainclothes officers while she was posting facts about Falun Gong near Ziyang Central Bus Station. That evening, the officers broke into her home, then searched and confiscated her property. They took her to the Erehu Brainwashing Center.
2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Cong Wei, Ms. Liu Ying, and Ms. Jiang Weihong Arrested
On April 20, 2010, Ms. Cong Wei, Ms. Liu Ying, and Ms. Jiang Weihong were arrested at Ms. Jiang's home by officers from Haimaojie Police Station in the Ganjingzi District, Dalian City. Officers confiscated Ms. Jiang's computer and cell phone, then searched Ms. Liu and Ms. Cong's homes. They confiscated two printers and one computer from Ms. Liu's home, along with Falun Gong books and materials that clarify the facts about Falun Gong.
Officers from Haimaojie Police Station took Ms. Cong and Ms. Liu to the Fushun Brainwashing Center. Ms. Jiang's whereabouts is unknown.
3. [Weifang, Shandong Province] Another Senior Practitioner Arrested
On April 29, 2010, Mr. Zhang, a 66-year-old practitioner in Weifang Hi-tech Development Zone, was arrested by police from the Weifang Hi-tech Development Zone National Security Team. They searched Mr. Zhang's home and confiscated his TV, DVD player, printer, and other items.
4. [Penglai, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Zhaofu Arrested and His Home Ransacked
On April 27, 2010, Mr. Zhang Zhaofu in Jushangou Village, Xiaomenjia Town, was arrested by Qu Yitao of the Penglai Public Security Bureau National Security Team and several officers from Xiaomenjia Town Police Station. The officers confiscated his computer, printer, Falun Gong books, and other items. Mr. Zhang is currently jailed in the Penglai Detention Center.
Currently, Ms. Li Yunhai and Ms. Xiaosui are also illegally detained in Penglai Detention Center.

5. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Rongju Persecuted by Development Zone Police Station Officials
On April 27, 2010, Ms. Li Rongju in Hengshui City was arrested by officers from Hengshui City Development Zone Police Station while she was explaining the facts about Falun Gong in public. She is being held in the city detention center.
6. [Qianan City, Hebei Province] Five Practitioners Taken to Prison after Unjust and Illegal Sentencing
During the middle of April 2010, Ms. Zhang Liqin and Ms. Shao Lianrong were falsely accused and sentenced to seven and half years imprisonment. Mr. Sun Yongsheng, Mr. Yang Zhanmin, and Ms. Li Xiuhua were falsely accused and sentenced to seven years imprisonment. Ms. Zhang, Ms. Shao, and Ms. Li were taken to Shijiazhuang Women's Prison, while Mr. Sun Yongsheng and Mr. Yang were taken to Jidong Prison.
In May 2008, Ms. Liang Xiulan, Ms. Zhang Liqin, Ms. Li Xiuhua, Ms. Shao Lianrong, Mr. Sun Yongsheng, Mr. Yang Zhanmin, and Mr. Cai Youwang (a non-practitioner) were falsely accused and arrested while they were distributing materials that clarified the facts about Falun Gong. Mr. Cai was falsely accused and sentenced to three years imprisonment with a three-year probation period (he has since returned home). Ms. Liang is still being held in Qianan Detention Center.
7. [Yancheng, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Liu Jing and Ms. Lu Aie Arrested Again
On April 27, 2010, Ms. Liu Jing and Ms. Lu Aie in Yancheng were arrested at Lu Aie's home while they were making materials that explained the facts about Falun Gong.
8. [Nanyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Zhou Xiaozhen Arrested and Taken to Brainwashing Center
On April 27, 2010, Ms. Zhou Xiaozhen in Houji Town, Zhenping County, Nanyang City, was deceived by staff from Zhenping County Society Synthesis Governing Office to enter a car. She was then taken against her will to Nanyang City Brainwashing Center.
9. [Yilong County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Su Lan Arrested
On April 28, 2010, Ms. Su Lan, 37 years old, was falsely accused and arrested while she was explaining the facts about Falun Gong in Tumen Town. She was held in the county detention center.
10. [Guangdong Province] Ms. Xie Huiliang Held in Jiedong County Detention Center
In April 2010, Ms. Xie Huiliang was arrested when she went to Jiedong County Public Security Bureau to acquire some documents. She is now being held in Jiedong County Detention Center.
11. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zheng Youyu Persecuted
On April 26, 2010, Ms. Zheng Youyu, an exemplary teacher in Pantang Central Primary School in the Xinzhou District, Wuhan City, was taken to a brainwashing center by leading cadres from the school and those from an education group.

12. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Tang Jianhua Sentenced to One Year and Six Months in Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Tang Jianhua from Guiyang City is 50 years old. On March 19, 2010, she was followed and photographed while posting documents that explained the facts about Falun Gong on an elevated crosswalk at Guiyang City Normal University. She was arrested by Qiandong Police Station in Guiyang City and jailed for seven days in Baihuashan Detention Center. Ms. Tang was given a one year and six month sentence and is now detained in Zhongba Women's Forced Labor Camp.
13. [Huanggang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Yan Meixia Taken to Wuhan City Brainwashing Center
On April 27, 2010, a group of officials directed by Xia Jinhua, secretary of Longganhu Farm Committee of Political and Legislative Affairs, and Chen Dongsheng, head of Public Security Bureau, along with Peng Zhengkai from the 610 Office and Guo Chuanan from the Public Security Bureau, charged into Ms. Yan Meixia's home and arrested her. Ms. Yan was taken to Wuhan City Brainwashing Center, Hubei Province.
14. [Shanghai] Mr. Ying Zhiming, Ms. Zhang Xiufang, and Mr. Ying Yeqi in Baoshan District Persecuted
Family members including Mr. Ying Zhiming, Ms. Zhang Xiufang, and Mr. Ying Yeqi of the Baoshan District in Shanghai, were arrested on April 25, 2009. They were unlawfully tried in Baoshan District Court on March 19, 2010. Mr. Ying Zhiming was sentenced to four years imprisonment, Mr. Ying Yeqi and Ms. Zhang Xiufang were each sentenced to three years with a three-year probation.
Mr. Ying Zhiming and Mr. Ying Yeqi were transferred to Tilanqiao Prison in the Yangpu District, Shanghai, and Ms. Zhang Xiufang to Qingpu Brainwashing Center.
15. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Mr. Chen Guang, Mr. Yan Hongen, and Ms. Wang Qingfang Illegally Sentenced
On April 9, Zhangdian District Court in Zibo City secretly tried Mr. Chen Guang, Mr. Yan Hongen, and Ms. Wang Qingfang. Mr. Chen Guang was charged with false evidence and subsequently sentenced to seven years imprisonment, while Mr. Yan and Ms. Wang received three years. Mr. Chen and Ms. Wang Qingfang have appealed the decision.

16. [Wuchang, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhang Chongjing Illegally Detained in Yangyuan Brainwashing Center
On April 27, 2010, Ms. Zhang Chongjing was arrested while she was distributing materials that explained the facts about Falun Gong near Dongting neighborhood. She is currently being detained in Yangyuan Brainwashing Center in Wuchang.
17. [Yanzhou, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Fengying Arrested
Ms. Li Fengying in Nanguan Village, Yanzhou is about 50 years old. On April 22, 2010, she was arrested and taken to the No. 2 Police Station. She was returned home at midnight that same evening.

19. [Inner Mongolia] Mr. Qi Jinglin Arrested by Town Police Station Officials
On April 26, 2010, Sun Haijun, head of Beizifu Town Police Station in Aohan Flag; Bai Yongsheng, head of the village; and several police officers charged into Mr. Qi Jinglin's home and arrested him. Mr. Qi is currently being held in Aohan Detention Center.

20. [Dengta City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Sun Fuzeng Taken to Shenyang City Prison
On December 30, 2009 Mr. Sun Fuzeng of Dengta City was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment by the Dengta City Court. On April 20, 2010, he was taken to Shenyang City Prison, Liaoning Province, and has been persecuted ever since.
21. [Qufu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Lin Yuxiang and Ms. Zhang Yuhuan Arrested
On April 26, 2010, Ms. Lin Yuxiang and Ms. Zhang Yuhuan in Qufu City were arrested by officers from Shizhuang Police Station while they were explaining the facts about Falun Gong at Shizhuang Town Farmer's Market. That afternoon, their homes were illegally searched. They have been held in a detention center since then.

On April 21, 2010, Ms. Zhao Lihua in Shaling Village, Shuiji Subdistrict Office Region, Laixi, Qingdao City, was arrested by Wangcheng Police Station officials while she was distributing materials that clarified the facts about Falun Gong.

25. [Beijing] Ms. Guo Yulan Arrested by Haidian District Police
On April 21, 2009, Ms. Guo Yulan was arrested at her home by Niu Yang, a police officer from the Haidian District Beitaipingzhuang. Ms. Guo was taken to a detention center, then released the same evening.
On April 7, 2010, five officers from Zhongguancun Police Station took her to a detention center.
In Haidian Detention Center, Ms. Guo refused to wear the jail uniform and also refused trials. A few days later, she started a hunger strike. Later, she broke out of the detention center due to her strong righteous thoughts.
