(Clearwisdom.net) Since July 1999 when Jiang's regime started to persecute Falun Gong, many officers with the judicial and public security divisions were directed to participate in the persecution. Among them are those who still have a conscience. I am in my 70s and was arrested and sent to a brainwashing center to be "reformed" for three months. Remaining steadfast in my belief, they later transferred me to a detention center.
There I was forced to do hard labor for 14 to 16 hours every day. One supervising guard (they called him "officer") saw that I was having a difficult time and quietly allowed me to take a short rest. This is an unimaginable luxury in the detention center. One of the criminal inmates felt this was unfair, so he picked on me while another beat me, so that I could not rest. When the main officer found out, he transfered me to work elsewhere. In fact, he did this to allow me an opportunity to rest.
One day, the court police car took me to court for a trial. When I entered the courtroom door, the detention center police handcuffed me behind my back. The court police officer saw this and demanded angrily, "Put the handcuffs in front!" He used his authority to do a kind deed.
When court was in session, I could tell from the tone and behavior of the court personnel that they have no choice and had to go through the motions. Some of them reminded me to defend myself and say that I did not commit any crime. Others told me that they have their own difficulties. It is true, under the CCP rule, that it is really difficult to be a good person.
There is another incident that I will never forget. At one time I went to a hospital to visit a friend. When I talked to a lady there about Falun Gong, she said, "No need to continue, I know all about it. Whatever the CCP is against is definitely good." She said that her son is an officer in a police station. A couple of older ladies who practice Falun Gong were arrested, and he was instructed to beat them. Her son told her that these old ladies were especially kind and that he refused to beat them. If they had insisted that he beat them, he would have quit.
Such examples are numerous. Among the officers in the judicial and public security divisions, many have come to understand the truth about Falun Gong. Thus, at critical moments, they have the opportunity to make a choice based on their conscience. Because they understand the truth, they have kind thoughts, leaving them hope in the future.
