1. Starting Cultivation
When I was studying at a university in 1993, Teacher was giving lectures there, but I didn't get a chance to attend them. At the time, I was very weak due to poor health. I caught a cold very easily, and also suffered from a major illness. I looked everywhere to find a cure, but without any success. I also tried practicing several types of qigong for about two years, but it was still no use. One day I heard about Falun Gong, and was told that I could learn it for free. After practicing for only ten days, and without using any medicine, the symptoms of my illness disappeared and my skin improved. I experienced Dafa's miraculous power, and I continued to practice. I gradually understood the higher principles of the Fa and cultivation.
2. Appealing in Beijing
On July 20, 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began to persecute Falun Gong. During that difficult period of time, I experienced pressure from society, my family, my workplace, and friends, which felt like a huge mountain on my back. But I believed in Teacher and Dafa, so I distributed truth-clarifying materials and clarified the facts every day. I used every opportunity to clarify the truth to people with predestined relationships.
Around Chinese New Year in 2001, I wanted to go to Beijing to appeal for Dafa. Three other practitioners and I decided to go regardless of how hard it may be. I remember that day was very cloudy and dark. I was quite depressed thinking that so many practitioners did not return home due to the evil persecution. We all cried. I thought about what I could not give up, and that even if I would die, I still wanted to appeal for Dafa. If I did not go out to clarify the truth, how could I be a Dafa practitioner? Then my heart became very calm.
When we arrived Tiananmen Square, there were policemen every five feet. Plain-clothes policemen and police cars were everywhere. I waited for a few seconds and shouted from my heart: "Falun Dafa is good. My Teacher is innocent!" I felt like no others were present, like I was the only one there standing between the sky and the ground. I still remember it now.
I was distributing truth-clarification materials, speaking to clarify the facts and running at the same time. Later on, I was illegally arrested by plain-clothes policemen in a van. There were practitioners from other cities in the van. We were all sent to a nearby police station. I thought that I should look presentable since I am a Dafa practitioner, so I tidied up my clothes and went into the police station. People there said, "Look at such a young practitioner." Whenever the policemen asked, I did not cooperate with them. The team lead said: "If you don't say anything, I will take all of you to the mountain and shoot you." I believed that nothing could change our belief. Another policeman asked, "Who was distributing the informational material?" A plain-clothes policeman pointed at me and said, "That's him." That policeman came over and kicked me, but I did not feel anything. I understood that Teacher protected me.
I had a thought that if the Fa could not be validated, I would not go. I did not think about myself. As a result, the policeman treated me very politely then. They asked me to leave. When I was leaving, they worried that I would still stay in Beijing, so they explained to me how to take a bus to get home. One policeman asked:,"Do you still want to go to Tiananmen Square?" I said: "Of course. Why not? The Fa hasn't been validated!" They were very scared and begged: "Please do not go. You guys talk about compassion, so please think about us." I said, "No, I must go." They replied: "If you want to go, please do not go tonight but tomorrow after 8 a.m. when we start our office hours. Please." I was laughing, because the policemen became so soft.
When I left the police station and arrived at the train station, I felt the Fa was validated and the environment changed. I was quite happy. On the second day, I continued to work. After I studied Teacher's new lecture, I realized that my core purpose was righteous, because I let go of life and death and met the Fa's standard. The evil in other dimensions was very scared, so it controlled the policemen to beg me to leave as soon as possible. This was another time I witnessed Dafa's miracle.
3. Coordinating
Teacher said every practitioner can be a coordinator. I didn't care if I was the coordinator or not. If I was needed, I would take the responsibility. During my cultivation, naturally I became one of the coordinators.
At the beginning of 2005, nearly all of the coordinators in our location were arrested. Many truth-clarification materials production sites were destroyed. Some practitioner asked me if we could re-establish the sites, so one was renewed and another one almost done. I felt like I could do anything. Gradually, other practitioners came to know that I could figure out technical issues. Later, we established more production sites in other towns near us. I traveled around to fix computers, teaching others the necessary technical skills and purchasing materials. After work, I normally did not go to sleep, but immediately went to other towns for the remainder of the day. When I got home, it was already night time, and I needed to study the Fa . I went to sleep very late, or did not sleep at all. I was immersed in the Fa and did not feel hungry or sleepy. I could function while sleeping for only several hours and eating only a couple of meals for two consecutive days and nights. Through this process, I also came to know other coordinators in other towns, and I often shared my understanding with them.
In 2005, some practitioners were about to be illegally sentenced. When I found out, only two days were left until the trial. All the other coordinators were detained. I remembered that I was a Dafa practitioner, so I just did whatever I could do. I worked with another practitioner. We made posters to expose the persecution. I connected with all the practitioners whom I could contact. We sent forth righteous thoughts and distributed truth-clarifying materials, which heavily broke down the evil. On the day of the trial, we arrived close by and sent forth righteous thoughts along with other practitioners from other locations. At the beginning, the court closed its doors, so we could not get too close. The day was extremely cloudy and windy. We sent righteous thoughts for around one hour, and then it became sunny. I saw there was no guard at the door on the first floor. I ran into the courthouse and was just several meters away from the courtroom. Other practitioners joined me later. We continued to send righteous thoughts for another three hours. The practitioner's families came out of the court and told us that this illegal trial was ordered directly from the president of the central regime and officials were under a lot of pressure, but after being on trial for more than three hours, the practitioner was not sentenced. It was really miraculous.
In 2006, a practitioner was arrested. I coordinated with another practitioner. I did not have much experience with rescue efforts, so I browsed the Minghui website (Chinese version of Clearwisdom) and read some articles regarding others' rescue experiences. The first step was to get some information from the practitioner's family about the persecution and to find out where he or she was detained. A key step was to clarify the facts to the family members, so that they could work with us to deny the torture. We found that practitioner's wife. We heard that she was also arrested because of her husband. Thus, she hated Dafa and Dafa practitioners. She blamed Dafa for her husband being detained in jail. She said she would report whoever came to her home. Before we met her, we shared our understanding and prepared what to say to her. The other practitioner talked to her face to face, and I sent righteous thoughts to help her true self be in control. Later, that practitioner told me his conversation with her was successful and they were able to eliminate the misunderstanding between her and Dafa practitioners. She was touched, which was a fundamental first step toward rescuing her husband. We also learned that her husband was detained in a local detention center. There is no success if no effort is put in. I realized that as long as you really do it based on the Fa, Dafa would give you the wisdom.
Later, we got together to discuss the next step. We needed to find all his relatives and clarify the truth, and let them coordinate with practitioners to demand his release, and in the meantime, ensure that the family members refuse to coordinate with the evil. I contacted all practitioners that we knew and discussed this with them. The arrested practitioner's case was our own case. Our local practitioners all coordinated with each other to rescue others. We made truth-clarification materials, and went to the detention center to give money, clothes, Teacher's lectures, and whatever else was needed. I did my best to do what I could do. Our local practitioners had suffered big persecution since the year before. We did not inform everyone, so things did not go as well as I expected. The practitioners who joined together to rescue others were not very considerate. But I did not give up.
I found a lawyer to encourage the detained practitioner's family members. I then organized several large groups of practitioners to send righteous thoughts to help his relatives ask for his release at the police station. The last morning that we were scheduled to send righteous thoughts, the weather was very nice. The other practitioner was too tired in those days and slept until around 6 a.m. I imagined this police station and sent strong thoughts to expose the evil. Then I saw a bright, shining light, and I heard a bomb. It was not imagination. It was real. My window shook. The practitioner who was sleeping over was alerted by the shock. He was surprised that it was raining. I heard thunder, and he went to the window to look
This is Dafa's power. This resulted from practitioners' righteous thoughts. Such strong power displayed in this human space was really magical. I felt the evil was eliminated, so the practitioner should be released. The following day, he safely returned home and brought many names of people who decided to withdraw from the CCP.
This rescue activity was very successful and helped other practitioners to cooperate as one body. I am very clear that a coordinator is not like everyday people's team lead. To be a good coordinator, we must be selfless and consider others first, take other practitioners' cases as our own, be responsible and also have huge compassion for others. We cannot give up no matter how hard the work might be.
4. Saving People
In 2004, I had a friend from another city visiting me. I showed him the truth-clarifying material on my computer, and then sent righteous thoughts while sitting behind him. When he showed a negative attitude and asked me a question, I explained the facts to him, so he finally understood the truth. I persuaded him to practice Dafa, and he agreed. I taught him the five exercises on the same day, and helped him to read Zhuan Falun during the night. He did not sleep the whole night. He stayed at my home for three days. He not only learned the truth, but learned the exercise movements and read the whole book and part of Teacher's new lectures. He was very happy and appreciative of me. He found that he completely changed, even though he did not know how to express it. Afterward, he came to my home several times and shared his understanding on the Fa and validated the Fa with me. Soon, he established a production site and started to clarify the truth. He became a real practitioner.
Clarifying the truth face to face, I obtained wisdom with Teacher's help. I could understand where a person was blocked when I chatted with him or her, and I knew how to remove their block. Saving people is a really hard job. I normally spend a lot of energy to save a person. Lots of people with predestined relationships have been saved. Some of them then clarified the facts to others. Some of them made a long distance phone call to tell me how many people wanted to withdraw from the CCP and asked me to write down their names. Some of them asked for Dafa bookmarks or postcards to give to children in their village. An old man told me: "Others mentioned Falun Gong to me. I did not believe it. But I was persuaded by your righteous behavior. Now I really believe in Dafa." Some people's whole families understood the truth and all of them learned about Falun Dafa. I am really very delighted that those sentient beings learned the truth. I appreciate Teacher's arrangement.
In the process, I understood the Fa better. My xinxing improved steadily. In reality, I know as long as I am using compassion, I can help save people. When you really help people without any attachment, Dafa's power will come forth. Their bad thoughts will disappear immediately. If we only read the Fa but do not really cultivate, I believe we can never experience the real Fa.
I experienced Teacher's Fa that is written in the book. It is real and accurate. Now, Dafa is rooted in my heart. Clarifying the truth to help save people is part of my life. Dafa created my life. Dafa changed me from a selfish person full of karma to a nearly selfless Dafa practitioner who is steady and can do anything.
I am truly thankful for Teacher's boundless compassion, and I hope to cultivate more diligently so that I don't let Teacher down.
