(Clearwisdom.net) The second, fourth, and fifth areas of the Women's Prison of Wuhan City, Hubei Province are currently detaining many Falun Gong practitioners. Of these areas, the fourth is the team that's dedicated to persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. Jiang Chun, the political commissar of the prison, is a woman in her thirties. She appears to be kind, but in private she allows the prisoners to torture Falun Gong practitioners.
Using systematic mental and physical persecution, the Wuhan City Women's Prison strictly blocks any dialog related to the persecution. Nonetheless, some cases have been exposed. Some of these include Falun Gong practitioners dying from torture, as was the case with Song Yulian, Xu Guanglin, and Su Kezhen. Other cases include practitioners being persecuted to the point of mental collapse, which is what happened with Liu Weishan and Gong Yueming. There have also been cases of Falun Gong practitioners who were tortured to point of becoming handicapped, injured, sick, etc. The following are examples of the most recent persecution to which a few Falun Gong practitioners have been subjected.
Ms. Shuai Liangyu, 65, was forced by the guards from the fifth area of the prison to write a guarantee statement, pledging to give up the practice of Falun Gong. Not long afterward, she solemnly declared that the pledge she was forced to write was invalid. Guards ordered the prisoners who were appointed to watch her to deprive her of sleep for an entire month. Every night these prisoners beat her. Ms. Shuai was tortured so badly that she could not be recognized. She was also blinded due to the beatings.
Ms. Zhou Qi is around 50 years old, and from Huang Gang. She was beaten many times by the prisoners appointed to watch her under the command of the guards in Wuhan City Women's Prison.
Ms. Fan Changhua is around 50 years old, and from Yi Chang. Between 2007 and 2008 she was forced by the prisoners appointed to watch her to stand for a day and a night. This was under the command of the guards. She was deprived of sleep. On one occasion during the winter she was very tired and fell on the floor. The prisoner who was watching her poured a barrel of cold water on her head and body. Such a long time of forced standing directly caused Ms. Fan Changhua's fingers to freeze and fester.
Ms. Li Yun is around 30 years old, and from Suizhou. Guards sent her to the strictly restricted team on October 19-29, 2009. She was detained in a small, confined cell. The prisoners appointed to watch her surrounded her and kept her from sleeping. Whenever she closed her eyes, the prisoners flicked her eyeballs with their finger nails. After ten days her body was mostly paralyzed.
Wuhan City Women's Prison has systematically persecuted the Falun Gong practitioners detained there, in inhumane ways. This persecution is long-term, implemented as policy, executed as procedure, and implemented through threats, massive, brutal and malicious. The persecution of Falun Gong practitioners started when these practitioners were detained in the prison, but did not stop upon their release. The firm and unyielding Falun Gong practitioners are transferred to brainwashing centers for continueed "transformation" when they are released. The prison still chooses times and sends people to "revisit" (harass and monitor) them after their release.
