(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in nine provinces. In this report, eight Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 14 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Jinxiang County, Shandong Province] A Practitioner from Yangshan Town Arrested
A practitioner was arrested on April 5, 2010, as he/she distributed Shen Yun DVDs near the Martyrs Cemetery in Yangshan Town.
2. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Held in Custody
Practitioners employed at the Jinjiang Printing Factory were arrested on March 5, 2010. Three of them are still in custody.
3. [Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Chen Ru Arrested
Ms. Chen Ru, 50, from Tanzhou Town was arrested on February 19, 2010, as she spoke with people about Falun Gong.
4. [Beijing] Mr. Hao Junlai Held in the Gezhuang Police Station
Mr. Hao Junlai from Sujiatuo Town in the Haidian District was arrested on April 5, 2010, as he distributed Falun Gong information. He is now in the Gezhuang Police Station and will be sent to the Qinghe Detention Center.
5. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Xie Liangfu Arrested
Mr. Xie Liangfu was arrested on April 2, 2010, for speaking with people about Falun Gong in Qingxing Town. Two officers from the Lichun Police Station made the arrest. He is now at the Pengzhou City Detention Center.

6. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yu Yue and Ms. Ye Guiqin Arrested and Their Whereabouts Unknown
Ms. Yu Yue and Ms. Ye Guiqin were arrested on March 28, 2010, as they posted Falun Gong information in Nanerying, Fengning. Nanerying police made the arrest. The two practitioners were transported to Chengde City three days later. Their whereabouts are unknown. The police ransacked their homes and confiscated their computers, printers, and Falun Gong materials.
7. [Linqing City, Shandong Province] Additional Information Regarding Harassment of Mr. Li Qiwen's Family
Domestic Security Division officers Ding Jianhua and Mei Baohua broke into Mr. Li Qiwen's home on the afternoon of March 25, 2010, under the guise of visiting his wife, but ended up confiscating a computer. Mr. Li's father is in his 70s. The police harassment caused him tremendous anxiety. He lost consciousness on April 1, 2010, was hospitalized, and is still unconscious.
8. [Jiamusi, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhao Guiying Arrested
Ms. Zhao Guiying's family learned on April 5, 2010 that she had been arrested in the Nancha District, Yichun City.
9. [Dezhou, Shandong Province] Ms. Gao Guoxiang and Ms. Liu Yurong Arrested and Funds Extorted
Ms. Gao Guoxiang from Ling County was arrested on January 6, 2010, as she distributed Falun Gong information and was taken to the Ling County Detention Center. To secure her release nine days later, her family had to pay more than 10, 000 yuan.
Officers from the Ling County Police Department and agents from the 610 Office arrested Ms. Liu Yurong at home in Ling County around 10:00 a.m. on April 29, 2008, and took her to the Ling County Police Department. She was forced to pay 2,000 yuan and returned home in two hours.
10. [Dezhou, Shandong Province] Circumstances of Mr. Li Peiquan -belated information-
Mr. Li Peiquan from Ling County was arrested on April 29, 2008, as he distributed Falun Gong information. More than a dozen officers from the Shentou Town Police Station made the arrest, ransacked his home, and confiscated ten watches, watch repair tools, and electronic watch movements. Two officers kicked Mr. Li and yanked his hair. He was then taken to the Ling County Detention Center to be held for 30 days. His family was forced to pay 4,000 yuan. Mr. Li was later transported to the Shandong Province No. 2 Forced Labor Camp where he was held for one year and nine months. He had to do hard labor. He got up at 5:30 a.m. every day and was not allowed to sleep until 10:00 p.m.
11. [Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Wang Duo Arrested
Officers Xu and Chen (female) from the Dafeng City Domestic Security Division broke into Mr. Wang Duo's home on March 22, 2010. They took Mr. Wang into custody. His family requested to see him but has not yet been allowed.

12. [Helong City, Jilin Province] Mr. Liu Yubao and Ms. Li Yinghua Arrested
Mr. Liu Yubao, 36, a pharmacist, and Ms. Li Yinghua, 40, a laboratory technician, are both employed at the Bajiazi Forestry Bureau Worker's Hospital. Helong City. Officers from the Domestic Security Division arrested them at work on March 3, 2010.
13. [Wuchang City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Xia Yuehua Locked up at a Brainwashing Facility
Mr. Xia Yuehua from Zhaojiawopeng Village, Hongqi Township, was arrested around 6:30 p.m. on March 9, 2010. Officers from the Wuchang City Domestic Security Division, along with agents from the 610 Office and police station officers, made the arrest.
Ms. Guan Yunhua from Huangqi Village was arrested around 10:00 a.m. on March 21, 2010. Five officers, including Li Hongyu from the Lalin Town Police Station and four others from the Wuchang City 610 Office and Domestic Security Division, made the arrest.
It is confirmed that ten practitioners are being held in the Wuchang 610 Office Brainwashing Center.

14. [Xiong County, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhao Wuhu Faces Trial
To our knowledge, Xiong County Court officials planned to bring Mr. Zhao Wuhua to trial shortly. His lawyer submitted to the court a power of attorney authorized by Mr. Zhao's family. The court officials originally scheduled Mr. Zhao's trial for April 7, 2010, but said later that they would discuss the matter and then make a decision. A notice would be issued later.
15. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Qin Fengzhen Held in Custody
Ms. Qin Fengzhen from Tiejiaying Village, Ningcheng County, had been living away from home and working part time. Police in Wen'an County, Hebei Province, arrested her around the 2010 New Year's Day. To our knowledge, Ms. Qin was transferred to her hometown after the Chinese New Year and is now at the Ningcheng Detention Center.
16. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhao Hongxing Arrested
Mr. Zhao Hongxing from the Daowai District was arrested in mid March 2010. The police confiscated his Falun Gong books and other personal property. He was given a one-year forced labor term.
17. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Shuqin Arrested
Ms. Zhang Shuqin, in her 60s, was arrested on the morning of April 4, 2010, as she spoke with people about Falun Gong in Maiwa. Two officers from the Nanmenwai District made the arrest. They broke into her home around 10:00 a.m. and confiscated her Falun Gong books. She was taken to the Langfang Brainwashing Center.
18. [Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province] Retired Physician Ms. Liu Jing Locked up at a Brainwashing Facility
Ms. Liu Jing, a retired physician from the Xidian Group Hospital in the Lianhu District, Xi'an City, was arrested on the morning of March 26, 2010, and taken to a brainwashing facility.
