(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in ten cities or counties in six provinces. In this report, five Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 24 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Guanghan, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xiao Zeqiong and Ms. Mu Shiru Held in Custody
Ms. Xiao Zeqiong and Ms. Mu Shiru from Xigao Town were arrested on the morning of March 15, 2010 as they spoke with people about Falun Gong in Shifang City. Majing Police Station officers made the arrest. The two practitioners are now held at the Shifang City Detention Center.

2. [Daqing, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wei Guangrong and Ms. Yu Shuqing Arrested
Mr. Wei Guangrong and Ms. Yu Shuqing, employees of the Daqing Ethylene Factory, were arrested at around 5:00 p.m. on March 5, 2010.
3. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Yanmei from Changchun Held in Custody
Ms. Wang Yanmei, project manager of the Toyota Tsusho Co. Ltd. liaison office in Changchun City, went to Beijing on the morning of March 16, 2010 to participate in the annual project training held at the company's headquarters in China. Shortly after she checked into the previously booked hotel in Beijing, police broke into her room, searching her luggage and attempting to take her away. Ms. Wang firmly resisted. The police confined her in the hotel and later took her and placed her into custody at the Shuangqiao Detention Center in the Chaoyang District.
4. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Ren Guirong and Mr. Du Xingrong Arrested at Home
Ms. Ren Guirong and Mr. Du Xingrong, both from Shendian Township, Qushui Town in the Jialing District, were arrested at home at around 11:00 a.m. on March 16, 2010. The police took a copy of Minghui Weekly from Ms. Ren's home.
5. [Dujiangyan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yin Julun and Ms. Li Jiumei Arrested
Ms. Yin Julun from Xujia Town and Ms. Li Jiumei, employees of the Railway Station Paper Factory, were arrested on the morning of March 16, 2010 as they distributed Falun Gong materials. The police ransacked their homes and confiscated Falun Gong materials, printers and other equipment.
6. [Hubei Province] Mr. Mei Chuanjun Held in a Brainwashing Facility
Mr. Mei Chuanjun, a teacher at the Hubei University of Industry, was arrested while conducting a class on the morning of March 16, 2010. Political and Security Section head Hu Jun and others took him to the Hubei Province Brainwashing Center.

7. [Hebei Province] Mr. Zhai Xiangfeng Arrested at the Beijing Railway Station Checkpoint
Mr. Zhai Xiangfeng, born in 1965, from the Fengrun District, Tangshan City, is former employee of the Koppers (China) Carbon Chemical Co., Ltd. He took a train at the Beijing Railway Station on March 12, 2010. While passing a checkpoint, Beijing Railway Station Police Department officers found Falun Gong materials on him. They arrested him. Tangshang City Police Department officers, along with those from the Tangshan City 610 Office took him back to Tangshan that same night. He is now held at a detention center in Tangshan City.

8. [Jiange County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Tang Linzhang Died as a Result of Persecution
Mr. Tang Linzhang, in his 70s, was a retiree from the Longquan Food Station in Pu'an Town. Local 610 Office agents and those from his former workplace often harassed and persecuted him. They also threatened him with suspending his pension. He was held in detention in 2001. 610 Office agents took him to the Wuzhishan Brainwashing Center during the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Mr. Tang died on March 2, 2010, we suspect as a result of long-term persecution and tremendous psychological pressure.
9. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Tian Gang Held in Custody
Jiang'an Police Station officers arrested Mr. Tian Gang on March 10, 2010. They tortured him and then took him to the Longsha Criminal Investigation Corps on March 11. He was transported to a detention center on March 13, 2010.
10. [Heishan County, Liaoning Province] Follow-up Report on the Arrests of Twelve Practitioners
Heishan County Police Department officers along with those from sub-police departments, and police stations in townships and towns, carried out frantic arrests of Falun Gong practitioners in those areas. The persecutors ransacked their homes at around 8:00 p.m. on February 23, 2010. Practitioners who were taken into custody included Mr. Zhan Zhigang, Mr. Zhang Yulin, Mr. Chen Guoliang, Mr. Liu Guanghai, Mr. Guo Yifu, Mr. Zhang Pengyun, Ms. Li Shuxian, Mr. Fan Fuyuan, Mr. Li Jingjun, Mr. Guo Zhongmin and his wife Ms. Li Junhong, Mr. Guo Zhonglin, and Ms. Chen Sulan.
Forced labor camp officials refused to accept Mr. Guo Zhongmin because a physical examination disqualified him. He has returned home. Mr. Zhan Zhigang and Mr. Zhang Yulin also returned home on March 10, 2010 following 15 days of detention.
Eight other practitioners including Mr. Chen Guoliang, Mr. Liu Guanghai, Mr. Guo Yifu, Mr. Zhang Pengyun, Mr. Guo Zhonglin, Ms. Chen Sulan, Ms. Li Shuxian and Ms. Li Junhong were taken to the Masanjian Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang City on March 9, 2010.
Mr. Li Jingjun was still at the Heishan Detention Center.
11. [Hunan Province] Ms. Yang Diuzhen and Others Arrested
Ms. Yang Diuzhen and a practitioner surnamed Li are both from Xiaoping Town, Chenxi. Local 610 Office agents arrested them on the afternoon of March 16, 2010 as they studied Falun Dafa teachings at home.
12. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Liu Jingzhou Arrested
Mr. Liu Jingzhou was reported at around 11:00 a.m. on March 12, 2010 as he spoke with people about Falun Gong at the Shuangxing Residential Zone in the Nangang District. Hexing Police Station officers arrested him.
