(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 11 provinces. In this report, 3 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 32 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Loudi City, Hunan Province] Mr. Peng Chuhao Sent to Jinshi, Changde for Further Persecution
2. [Hailin City, Heilongjiang Province] Elderly Ms. Liu Suhua Persecuted
On January16, 2010, Ms. Liu Suhua was arrested by officers from the Xinhe Police Station while she was distributing Falun Gong materials. Jin Haizhu led other officers from the Hailin State Security Team to search her home twice, but they did not find any so-called evidence. Finally, they took away Master Li's picture from her home. Ms. Liu was released two hours later at the request of her family.
3. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Liu Bo Arrested
At 4:30 p.m. on January 20, 2010, Mr. Liu Bo was arrested near the Daqing Mall. The police forcibly did a body search on him and took away several phone cards and two cell phones. They went to search his home at around 5:00 p.m.
4. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Linghai City Court Tries Mr. Zhang Lei
On September 12, 2009, Mr. Zhang Lei from Jinzhou City was taken into custody by officers from the Linghai City Police Department. He was detained in the Linghai Detention Center. On January 14, the Linghai Court proceeded to try him. Li Daming, the judge in charge, made an unreasonable demand at the beginning of the trial and did not allow any defense on the nature of Falun Gong.
Mr. Zhang pleaded not guilty in the court. The trial finished in a rush.
5. [Chongqing City] Ms. Zheng Changfen from Gaoxin District Arrested
At 2:00 p.m. on January 23, 2010, Ms. Zheng Changfen. in her 70s, was arrested by officers from the Xietaizi Police Station in the Gaoxin District while she was posting Falun Gong materials in Keyuan in the Gaoxin District. The police ransacked her home afterward and took away Dafa books, recorder, exercise tapes, and other property. Now her whereabouts are unknown.
6. [Chaoyang District, Beijing] Ms. Yan Arrested
Ms. Yan is nearly 70 years old. On the morning of January 20, 2010, she was arrested while she was distributing Falun Gong materials in a residential building.
7. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners Including Mr. Liu Li Arrested by the Chizhou Police
In late April 2009, Mr. Liu Li, Mr. Liu Hefang, Mr. Zhu Ming, and another practitioner from Hefei City were arrested when they went to Chizhou City to distribute Falun Gong materials. One of them was released after going on a hunger strike. Mr. Liu Li, Mr. Liu Hefang, and Mr. Zhu Ming are being detained in the Chizhou Detention Center, facing an illegal trial on February 2, 2010.
8. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Sun Xiufang, Ms. Shen Shumin and Ms. Shi Guiying Persecuted in the Taiyuan Forced Labor Camp
Because they refuse to give up practicing Falun Dafa, Ms. Sun Xiufang, Ms. Shen Shumin, and Ms. Shi Guiying have not been allowed to sleep for 18 days in the Taiyuan Forced Labor Camp.
9. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Li Wenjie Detained in the Yaziquan Detention Center for More Than Two Months
10. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Gan Jiejun and Mr. Lao Wei Arrested
On January 21, 2010, Ms. Gan Jiejun and Mr. Lao Wei from the Futian District in Shenzhen City were followed and arrested while they were out talking to people about Falun Gong. Officers from the Yuanling Police Station and the Futian Police Department also ransacked their homes and took away their belongings.
11. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Qu Bo Arrested in Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province
On December 7, 2009, Ms. Qu Bo from Benxi City, Liaoning Province, who went to work in Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province, was arrested by officers from the Zhongshan State Security Team and the Zhangjiabian Police Station while she was distributing Falun Gong materials in Zhangjiabian Village, the Huoju Developing District, Zhongshan City.
12. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] There Was No Verdict in the Trial of Mr. Yu Fanglin
On the morning of July 24, 2009, Mr. Yu Fanglin was arrested at Fumin Plaza in the Shahekou District by officers from the Fumin Police Station. On January 25, 2010, the Shahekou Court brought him to trial him but did not reach any conclusion.
13. [Daxinganling City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Song Chunyuan Detained
At 7:00 p.m. on January 21, 2010, Ms. Song Chunyuan was arrested while she was distributing Falun Gong Materials. Li Jun, Shi Wei, and other officers from the Tahe County Police Department and State Security Team ransacked her home. The police took away Falun Gong materials and an MP3 player and brought her child to the police department to question. Her child has been released. Ms. Song is being detained in the Tahe County Detention Center.

14. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Several Falun Dafa Practitioners from Daying County Illegally Sentenced
On April 23, 2008, several practitioners from Penglai Town, Daying County, Suining City, were illegally sentenced.
Ms. Hu Yanshun, who was born in 1932, was sentenced to nine years in prison. She is being detained in the Second Team of the Second Division in the Chengdu Women's Prison.
Ms. Chen Yuzhen, who was born in 1956, was sentenced to eight years in prison. She is being detained in the Chengdu Women's Prison. Ms. Guo Tinghe, who was born in 1944, was sentenced to four years and six months in prison. Ms. Li Qunying, who was born in 1954, was sentenced to three years and six months in prison.
15. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Derong from Faku County Detained
On the night of January 21, 2010, several officers from the Shiqiao Police Station of the Faku County Police Department broke into the home of Ms. Zhang Derong. At that time, Ms. Zhang was not at home. The officers ransacked the home and took away Dafa books, copies of Minghui Weekly, and Dafa CDs. On January 23, 2010, the police deceived Ms. Zhang into going to the police station and then detained her. She is now being held in the Faku Detention Center.
16. [Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Additional Information about Practitioners Detained in 2009
Ms. Zhao Qunlan was arrested in May 2009 and sentenced to three years in prison by the Junshan District Court in Yueyang City. On December 8, 2009, she was sent to the Hunan Women's Prison.
Ms. Xue Li, Ms. Xu Genyuan, and Mr. Huang Youjun, who were arrested in March and June 2009, are being detained in the Yueyang Detention Center. Because they protested the persecution, they were handcuffed and beaten. Their families were not allowed to visit them. Recently, when their families asked to visit them, they were told to pay 1000 yuan, or they would not be allowed to visit the next time.
Ms. Xue Li has been detained for almost ten months. There is no one to take care of her two children. Mr. Huang Youjun's father, who is about 80 years old, took out all the money he had to ask an attorney for help for his son.
17. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Yulian Arrested
On January 12, 2010, Ms. Li Yulian from Shimenzhai was arrested by officers from the Funing County State Security Team and the Shimenzhai Police Station while she was at a farmers' market in Shimenzhai. After being detained in the Funing Detention Center for more than ten days, she was sent to the Kaiping Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan City.
18. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Hu Hongke and Other Practitioners from Fengling County Persecuted
Ms. Hu Hongke works in the Xifeng Liquor Factory in Fengling County, Baoji City. In March 2009, Chen Dehuan and other officers from the Fengling Police Department took her away and ransacked her home. After being arrested, she was detained in a brainwashing center in Fenghuang Hotel in Fengling County for three months. Later on, the Fengling Court sentenced her to four years in prison. Now she is being detained in the Weinan Prison.
Ms. Hong Yan became homeless and destitute in order to avoid being arrested at home.
In June 2009, Mr. Lu Haijun was arrested at the Baoji Train Station and sent to the Baoji Detention Center. He was released after he was diagnosed with cancer. He is still homeless and destitute.
19. [Jinxiang County, Shandong Province] Additional Information about the Arrests of Ms. Zhao Guiying and Ms. Zhao Cuiyun
Ms. Zhao Cuiyun and Ms. Zhao Guiying were arrested by officers form the Mamiao Township Police Station on January 7, 2010, while they talked to people about Falun Gong near Mamiao Township. They are being detained in the Jinxiang County Detention Center.
20. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Cao Yanchun from the Laishan District Sent to a Forced Labor Camp
On December 28, 2009, Ms. Cao Yanchun from the Laishan District was taken away by two officers from the Laishan State Security Team while she was out walking. They grabbed her bag containing 7400 yuan. Ms. Cao Yanchun was detained in the Shihuiyao Detention Center in the Zhifu District, Yantai City. In the middle of January 2010, she was sent to the Zibo Forced Labor Camp in Shandong Province.
21. [Kangping County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Jinfeng, Mr. Wang Xuekun, and Mr. Li Xiaoping Persecuted
Jiang Lijun, chief of the State Security Team of Kangping Police Department; Fang Xuefei, chief of the Xiaochengzi Police Station in Kangping County; and several other officers went to Xiaochengzi Town on November 12, 2009, and arrested Ms. Wang Jinfeng, Mr. Wang Xuekun, and Mr. Li Xiaoping. The police took away computers, printers, and other property from the three practitioners' homes.
On December 3, 2009, the Kangping Procuratorate approved the arrests. On January 19, 2010, the Kangping Court accepted the case. Ms. Wang Jinfeng and Mr. Li Xiaoping's families have asked attorneys for their help.
