(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 12 provinces. In this report, 44 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 24 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Tianjin] Mr. Wang Shijun Sentenced to Four Years in Prison
Mr. Wang Shijun is a teacher in the Nansichun Village Primary School, Huangzhuang Township, Wuqing District, Tianjin. On July 29, 2009, he was arrested by officers Sun Shuyuan, Xu Quan, and others from the Quanxing Road Police Station for handing out a flier that stated "Falun Dafa is good." Deputy director of the Wuqing District Domestic Security Division Chen Dejun and plainclothes officers searched Mr. Wang's home without a warrant and seized his computer, electric motorcycle, and Falun Dafa books. The Wuqing District court held a trial without informing his family and sentenced him to four years in prison.

2. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Wang Yuelan Arrested
Ms. Wang Yuelan, 42, a practitioner in Jiujiang City, was arrested around 8:00 p.m. on January 4, 2010 for posting Falun Dafa fliers in the Chengxi Port District by Xiong Shaoyin, a patrol officer from the Yongan Police Station. She is being held in the Jiujing City Detention Center.

3. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Update on Eight Practitioners in Weifang City
Eight practitioners appealed to the Weifang City Middle Court after the Kuiwen Court, the Weicheng Court, and the Hanting Court sentenced them on October 19, 2009. The Weifang Detention Center administration held Ms. Kong Xi's appeal following orders from their superiors. The Weifang City Middle Court ruled to maintain the lower court decisions without reviewing the cases, hearings, or informing practitioners' families or defense lawyers. At 4:00 a.m. on December 21, 2009, Mr. Lu Xinliang and Mr. Wang Weifa were taken to the Jinan Province Prison. Ms. Kong Qian was taken to the Jinan City Women's Prison and Mr. Yin Guohua, Mr. Ge Kun, and Mr. Liang Qidong are being held in a detention center.

4. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Song Tiemin Arrested
On the morning of January 6, 2010, agents from the Jiamusi Suburbs Political and Judiciary Committee, officers from the Suburbs Police Department, and the Yingjun Police Station arrested Mr. Song Tiemin at his home. They took his Falun Dafa books, Master's picture, VCD, printer, computer, and more than 900 yuan cash.

5. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp Still Holding Mr. Zhang Ying after His Term Ends
Mr. Zhang Ying, a practitioner from Siping City, Jilin Province, was sentenced to 18 months of forced labor for talking to others about Falun Dafa. He was taken to the Changchun City Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp on June 25, 2008. His term ended more than ten days ago, but he is still being held by in the labor camp.

6. [Chongqing] Ms. Jiang Yourong in a Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Jiang Yourong is a retired teacher in Chongqing. On December 4, 2009, as she distributed Falun Dafa fliers to apartments in Guojiatuo, Jiangbei District, she was arrested by officers from the Guojiatuo Police Station. They subsequently searched her home and took her Falun Dafa printouts and flash drive. Ms. Jiang is now being held in the Chongqing Shabao Women's Forced Labor Camp. The length of her sentence is unknown.
7. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Two Practitioners Sentenced
At around 8:00 a.m. on December 9, 2009, officers from the Benxi City Police Department, the Benxi County Police Department, and the Caohekou Town Police Station arrested Mr. Lu Binzhong and his wife; Mr. Wang Mingren and his wife, Ms. Gao Guifang; Ms. Guan Xiuer; Ms. Chang Xuelian; Ms. Ren Yumei; and Ms. Zhao Changqin, eight practitioners in all. Two of them were sentenced to two years in prison. Ms. Gao Guifang suffered a relapse and was admitted to the hospital. She is being monitored by the police. The whereabouts of her husband, Mr. Wang Mingren, is unknown. The other practitioners were released.
8. [Changtu County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Fan Yuxiang and Ms. Tian Hua Arrested
Ms. Fan Yuxiang and Ms. Tian Hua are practitioners in Houyao Township, Changtu County. At around 11:00 a.m. on January 6, 2010, they were arrested for talking about Falun Dafa to others by Nan Xudong, director of the Houyao Township Police Station; deputy director Huang Guangming; and officer Li Ping. Subsequently, she was taken to the Changtu County Detention Center by Liu Jianxin, director of the Changtu County Domestic Security Division, and Yang Yuping, deputy director of the Changtu County Police Department.

9. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Zhu Ming and Practitioners Facing Trial
On April 18, 2009, Hefei City practitioners Ms. Zhu Ming, Ms. Liu Li, Ms. Zuo Qixiang, and Ms. Liu Hefang distributed Falun Dafa fliers in the Guichi District of Chizhou City. They were arrested by officers from the Guichi District Domestic Security Division and detained at the Chizhou City Detention Center. Ms. Liu Hefang was released, but the others are still being held. It is said that the Guichi District Court will put the practitioners on trial.

11. [Beijing] Ms. Zhou Jingping Arrested
Ms. Zhou Jingping is from Kaili City, Guizhou Province. She works in Beijing and lives in an apartment in Changping District, Beijing. She was arrested for distributing Falun Dafa fliers in October 2009. Her apartment was subsequently searched.
12. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wang Zhongchen Held in Jiamusi Detention Center
At around 10:00 p.m. on January 4, 2010, officers from the Changsheng Police Station in the Dongfeng District of Jaimusi City arrested Mr. Wang Zhongchen at his home. They took almost everything from his home. Mr. Wang is being held in the Jiamusi Detention Center.
13. [Qian'an City, Hebei Province] Eighteen Practitioners Imprisoned in Qian'an City
1) Heavy Sentences for Ten Practitioners in Qianan City
On December 2, 2009, the Qian'an Court sentenced Ms. Liang Xiulan to eight years in prison; Ms. Zhang Liqin and Mr. Shao Lianrong to seven and a half years; Mr. Sun Yongsheng, Mr. Yang Zhanming, and Ms. Li Xiuhua to seven years; and Mr. Cai Youwang to a three-year deferred sentence. The seven practitioners were arrested for distributing Falun Dafa fliers in May 2008.
On September 21, 2009, the Qian'an Court sentenced Ms. Li Yankui to four years in prison; Mr. Li Qingshong, Mr. Zhao Minghua, and Mr. Zhang Hewen to three years; and Ms. Cui Qingru to 20 months.
The chief judge was Feng Xiaolin. Another judge was Zhao Wenlu.
2) Two Practitioners Detained in Kaiping Detention Center
Ms. Wang Weiyue and Ms. Xu Xiurong are imprisoned at the Kaiping Detention Center.
Ms. Wang, in her 40s, is employed in a steel factory in Qian'an City. She was sentenced to two years in prison for distributing Falun Dafa fliers in the Baoguanying Bus Station on January 5, 2008.
3) Two Practitioners Held in Jidong Prison
Mr. Song Naiwen is a resident of Tilingzhai Village, Yanjiadian Township, Qianan City. He was sentenced to seven years in prison in August 2006 and is now in Jidong Prison.
Mr. Liu Wuquan is a resident of Yanjiadian Village in Yanjiadian Township, Qianan City. He was sentenced to four years in prison in August 2006, and is now in Jidong Prison.
4) Four Practitioners Imprisoned in Shijiazhuang Women's Prison
Ms. Duan Guiping, around 50, is a resident of Xiyu Village, Taipingzhuang Township, Qian'an City. She was sentenced to four and a half years by the Qianan City Court in 2007 and is now in Shijiazhuang Women's Prison.
Ms. Liang Xiuqin, around 50, is also a resident of Xiyu Village in Taipingzhuang Township. She was sentenced to four and a half years by the Qian'an City Court in 2007 and is being held in Shijiazhuang Women's Prison.
Ms. Li Anli is the daughter of Ms. Duan. She was sentenced to three and a half years by the Qianan City Court in 2007 and was taken to Shijiazhuang Women's Prison.
Ms. Zhao Cuiyun was sentenced to two years in prison. She is also in Shijiazhuang Women's Prison.
14. [Changde City, Hunan Province] Ms. Chen Kaili Becomes Homeless to Avoid Further Persecution
At around 4:00 p.m on December 16, 2009, officers from the Changde City Domestic Security Division, the Changde City Police Department, and Chengbei Police Station arrested Ms. Chen Kaili at her home. While the officers were search her home, Ms. Chen ran out, locked the door, and fled on an electric motorcycle.
The officers took her pictures, which showed her in meditation, and calendars as evidence that she promoted Falun Dafa. They also took her son's computer.
15. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Ms. Xu Arrested
On the afternoon of January 5, 2010, Ms. Xu, around 70, was arrested for talking about Falun Dafa to others in the Yantan area. She is being detained in the Xanxi Police Station.
16. [Li County, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhao Xiaochang Facing Trial
Around 7:00 p.m. on September 23, 2009, officers from the Li County Police Department arrested Mr. Zhao Xiaochang at his home. They searched his home and took his computer and Falun Dafa printouts. They are going to press charges against him.
Mr. Zhao's wife, Ms. Feng Wenzhen, was heavily sentenced for talking about Falun Dafa to others in 2007. She is still in prison.
Mr. Zhao's son works out of town. He came back to visit his father in the detention center but was not allowed to.
