(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Yang Jinxiu, in her sixties, appealed after she was wrongly sentenced to three years of detention by the Xindu District Court in Chengdu City.
Before practicing Falun Gong, Ms. Yang's health was poor and she suffered from serious diseases, including strained lumbar muscles, cervical vertebra inflammation, and a spur. She was blind in one eye and the other eye was nearsighted. In 1996, after she practiced Falun Gong, all her diseases disappeared. Moreover, although her eyesight was poor and she was in her 60's, she could read Zhuan Falun after she started her cultivation. To her family and friends, this was really a miracle.

After the persecution of Falun Gong started in 1999, Ms Yang had hoped that people would not believe the lies being told about Falun Gong. On February 25, 2008, Ms. Yang was talking to people about Falun Gong in Tianhui Town, Chengdu City, and was arrested by police officers from the Tianhui Town Police Station. On the same day, she was sent to Pi County Detention Center. On March 11, 2008, after a 15-day detention, she was sent to a brainwashing center.
Shortly after her release, on May 11, 2009, Ms. Yang was again arrested in Sanhechang, Xindu District, Chengdu City to the Xindu District Detention Center by police officers from the Sanhechang Police Station, with the excuse that she had in her possession a disk which told the truth about Falun Gong.
On November 17, Ms. Yang was put on trial in the Xindu District Court and was sentenced to three years imprisonment. The legal Article used to sentence her was No. 300 in Criminal Law, which is the Article used to imprison and persecute many compassionate Falun Gong practitioners. This Article itself violates the Constitution, has fatal mistakes and is quite ridiculous. In China, many righteous attorneys defend Falun Gong practitioners against this Article; many scholars and specialists appeal and discuss it. The sentence of Ms. Yang had no legal reference and was ridiculous.
According to her family, before the first trial, the so-called judge, Chen Lunfu, mainly cheated and misinformed them, and even indicated that the case had been transferred to the intermediate court and asked them to go there. When Ms. Yang's family told him that Ms. Yang had improved tremendously in both body and mind after practicing cultivation and that she should not be arrested, Mr. Chen just remained silent with nothing to say. According to a report on the Minghui website, since July 20, 1999, Chen Lunfu followed the CCP closely to persecute Falun Gong and participated in the sentencing of Falun Gong practitioners almost every year. The sentence period varied from three to eight years.
Ms. Yang's husband is 80 years old. After starting cultivation, their relationship got better and more harmonious. After Ms. Yang was arrested, her husband traveled between Chengdu City and Xindu many times to appeal to related departments and ask for her release. Ms. Yang's sentence made her husband very sad and anxious. Ms. Yang's son, granddaughter, and many relatives and friends frequently asked about her, and expected her to come back home soon.
Ms. Yang and her family did not agree with the sentence of the first trial and appealed. The major judge was Lin Qiao, who proceeded in the name of the deputy judge, who had taken care of the case of Zhong Fangqiong at the beginning of 2009. In that case, Judge Lin Qiao did not allow the attorney to read the testimony or copy the records of the trial. And even though15 attorneys appealed the case, he insisted on doing it his way and manipulated the proceedings and sentenced Zhong Fangqiong and another 10 people who had already been seriously persecuted to prison. Later, Lin Qiao participated in the illegal sentencing of practitioner Chen Changyuan and others in the same way.
Ms. Yang's family appealed so that people would pay attention to Ms. Yang's case. It is hoped that the Chengdu intermediate court could uphold justice and release Ms. Yang based on the law.
